Details are very limited on this deadly incident that also took a life around the same time another fatality was taking place further west in Phoenix.
Phoenix Police and Fire responded to 51st Avenue and W Van Burren for reports of a multi-vehicle collision. When units arrived they found 3 vehicles with heavy and severe damage. At least two people needed to be extricated and one person was pronounced on scene by first responders. This stretch of road was also shut down for several hours Friday night into Saturday morning. Phoenix Police have not released any additional details on what led up to this deadly accident.
