That is the sort of kit the Navy had on their carriers. Grove call them "Carrydeck" and I think that one is a GCD15 (Nerd hat on now). Had to be powerful but small for a carrier. Quite impressed how some faffing, easy start and an extinguisher got that little beauty running and even working. Of course there was never any doubt with Ted supervising proceedings. RIP the booster pack.
I actually grew up 5 minutes from grove manufacturing in Pennsylvania. It’s in the middle of farmland in a rural valley. Always cool to see these cranes all over the world. I saw a good many in London in 2019.
Years ago I saw one of those that had flipped over 180 degrees on the road near Bisley Surrey. It was sat on its boom upside down, just balancing in the middle of the road.
Looks like a Perkins G4.203 engine, worked on one some 10+ years ago. The piston crowns have a huge machined dish in them to drop the compression ratio from that of the diesel 4.203.
I love tanks, a lot. But I never knew that I, a software developer from Denmark, needed this channel in my life...Oh well, here we are. Also this little crane is just great.
For the man Adam who rarely smiles or talks ... he must REALLY like this little crane as i've never seen him smile so much !!😅 I've just seen an American video ( consequently) that had a very similar crane to this ,as for steering there was a little switch that turned it from " front, rear or crab steering "
You will be surprised how handy a little carry deck crane can be. Small and "nimble" for want of a better word. Gets into tight spaces and lifts heavy stuff! G'day from Tasmania
@@kcnmsepognln There are fly jibs, luffing jibs and purely boom extensions bolted or pinned straight to the telescopic boom. If it's inline wit the telescopic elements,it's an extension, and it will have the same angle relative to the ground as the boom itself.
Love the "turbo delete" exhaust manifold adapter. Far be it from Perkins to waste perfectly good diesel exhaust manifolds....lol. I'd leave the moss growing on the dash. Maybe it will turn into an oak tree someday.
Handy little Carry Deck you got there, going to be pretty handy around the farm! "Lucas, Prince of Darkness" I had a 67 MGB, ran well, couldn't keep the Lucas, or Luckless electrical working for shit, moved it down the road after 8 months!
Great channel what an interesting load of machines you have and brilliant knowledge on them and of course the tanks are terrifyingly amazing never been next to one but always had a interest in them Brilliant guys !! 👍
With extension piece it reach top of shop not that u need but u never know really cool love watching u guys work on this giant machines in tightest places inside them tank builders should be talking to people like u to avoid the useless an stupid ways they build them now
Nice find mate, little 'pick and carry' cranes like that are rare as f@&k in the UK now. Even old Coles Iron Fairy's aren't common anymore. That looks like a Perkins G4.203. They made a few of their engines in petrol/LPG, diesel bottom endsl with different pistons/heads so pretty bomb proof and they were factory, not converted as a lot of people think they are. Mainly used in forklifts. Better off replacing all the LPG stuff with Impco stuff - cheap, simple and easily available.
Sam say's these are called carrydeck's as you can put the load on the flat bed on the front and drive with it, could be impressive with a Centurion engine on it😋😉😋
I was beginning to think it was time to change the rad hoses for silicon and fill it with engine oil :o Can’t leak water into the engine if its engine oil in the rad, it’s like one up from Evans waterless coolant :o)
nice to see a complete project from a wreck to showroom condition all in one episode .
Lmao
Can I buy some of that crack you’re smoking?

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to watch something actually start working 🤣 Awesome 😎
Basically a clutch of good mates dicking about and bringing old stuff back to life. Brilliant! You guys always lift my spirits. 😂

Adam is a man of few words, his expression’s say it all, lol! Great video and always look forward to the next. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Even Jack’ll be able to climb in the cab ! 1 bonus point ✔️

Sponsorships required for easystart and fire extinguishers
🤣🤣 YES
...... and WD-40 🤪😂✌️🇺🇸

He is in a relationship with it
Ahhhhhh that explains everything !!!
JUST make sure he's not left alone with it you KNOW what young love is like !! Lol
the urgency when there's a fire 😂😂😂love it
Crickey, it goes like a bought one! In Kiwi land we have this stuff in a can called "start u bastard" we use it to get all our old lawnmowers going.
You guys levelling up is just the best thing, well deserved so keep working guys!

In all fairness that actually looks rather a useful little machine and I bet it will be dead handy for those jobs where Foden is too big.
It could work in the shop for lifting intake manifolds, and other awkward heavy bits in confined areas.
I love it when you buy the most unpromising piles of junk, with moss growing on them, and with minimal effort, get them working
What a sweet lil unit, and it runs on malted milk. Genius!
Crane needs a service....The Last Rights would probably be appropriate!
That crane is a handy piece of kit great acquisition mr hewes😊
Great find, an awesome addition to your fleet lads,,, useful wee crane
I am amazed that so many things on it were still working
What a little gem, a potential workhorse around the depot. You really do score some beautiful wins when you take on old unloved kit
Reminds me of the Frenna crane that Kurtis at Cutting Edge Engineering is doing up! Looks like a really handy piece of kit!
Electrical leak, and the dark lord Lucas at work. That water in the oil keeps the oil cool
The is a boom extension on the crane, you have to install it with pins so you can reach the top of the shop.
There might also be a manual extra telescoping segment - I couldn't tell from the video.
The "boom extension" is a fly-jib and it provides extra horizontal, not vertical, reach.

Very handy looking machine, as well as cute😊 . Just need Tonka writen on the side.
Got to love the attitude, as in 'this should be a laff ' and not, 'it looks like a non runner'! 🤣👍.
Wow, I love this crane. I want one just to park outside my house
It's a really cool little machine definitely worthy of complete restoration someday I hope
thank you very much for good entertainment. 👍🤗👍🇸🇯
A really useful little machine!!
I bet you will find a use for it!
Kellys Heros springs to mind , Oddball , Donald Sutherland ..
Funny crane shinnanigans. Hilarious.
Excessive use of easy start.
That was better entertainment than last nights TV! Good to see Ted keeping an eye on you lot and he appears to have a new friend?
"It's a piece of shit" Never has one man so perfectly summed up a dodgy purchase 😂😂
Love the "turbo delete" exhaust manifold adapter. Far be it from Perkins to waste perfectly good diesel exhaust manifolds....lol.
I'd leave the moss growing on the dash. Maybe it will turn into an oak tree someday.
A bloody good laugh to start the day . Thank you.
An uplifting video…
You’re just trying to follow in the footsteps of Diesel Creek and Scrappy Industries 😂
That's a mega little thing, your giddy excitement to find it all working was piss funny, you've got to name it Colin..... McRane 😂😂
Well gosh darn it, if that isn’t that the cutest little crane i ever did see. Great job gents is there nothing you can’t do?
Very useful piece of kit that crane.
At 16:36 or so "Yeah! You're alright!"... You aren't a mad bastard, you're the maddest bastard, and that is great! 🤣
Looks like a little Dinky toy. Cute. As an X crane driver, I don't remember Always gettin it up.?? The Ole Fella from Downunda.
The Cunnamulla Fella? xD
The dog is thinking dad has bought more crap great 😂😂
It looks like a Lego crane bless it!
Can’t believe how well it works 👌, lovely little toy 😁👍
That is the cutest little crane 😍
The Question is?, Does it want to be a Foden.
Every body, thing, concept wants to be a foden.
It will identify as Foden 🤘
Liebherr ?
Question is, can it be used to pull tank engines and stuff?😁👍🇺🇸😎
Cracking little Foden. Great project to do up.
I fix mobile cranes for a living, love to see the old stuff still about!
This is the coolest thing I've seen in my entire life
Cracking bit of kit 👏🏼
You guys have way too much fun ! Always enjoy watching
Handy little Carry Deck you got there, going to be pretty handy around the farm! "Lucas, Prince of Darkness" I had a 67 MGB, ran well, couldn't keep the Lucas, or Luckless electrical working for shit, moved it down the road after 8 months!
Adams blank face describes more than any amount of words ever could 😂
That will come in handy around the tanks and stuff
Now thats a reet handy bit of kit. Just the thing for lifting thingys n stuff
You guys make my day!!! I really appreciate you!
❤️
I will watch the entire thing, but comment on my first 2 minutes. That is a fine machine and well worth any effort. Great show...as usual...
Great channel what an interesting load of machines you have and brilliant knowledge on them and of course the tanks are terrifyingly amazing never been next to one but always had a interest in them
Brilliant guys !! 👍
The little crane that could.
What a wonderful little thing, putting all that cladding up on his own. Crane's cute, too.
Brilliant piece of kit. Can only be an asset in your game.
hi there, as well as an oil change, the air cleaner element should be changed, good luck, lovely little crane,
It is so cute!!! Looks like it belongs in a toy box!!
With the LPG engine I'd guess it was designed to be operated inside buildings.
Going to come in handy, good buy.
7:05 So that's how mechanics are made, when Adam loves a crane very much...
A Perkins petrol ? New one on me. Ya live, ya learn I suppose.
LUCAS…The Prince of Darkness.
Ah indeed . BUT the Lucas Prince did start that engine. For a while.
With extension piece it reach top of shop not that u need but u never know really cool love watching u guys work on this giant machines in tightest places inside them tank builders should be talking to people like u to avoid the useless an stupid ways they build them now
yaahhhh lets get it done wooh hoooo love yah vids keep em coming please
😂😂😂 brilliant, reminds me od when i was working in a workshop, getting involved and having a laugh 😂😂😂
Ted walks among GIANTS
Best fire fighter scene ever 😂😂😂
Adam's smitten make it his daily driver! 😅
It’s his favourite vehicle now
It’s not
I had one of these engines in a Lansing bagnell forklift
better than top gear...top vid lads
What a fantastic thing. 😊
I remember these from the matchbox car toy that I had in the 1970s
Outstanding outro Joe - one of your best!!!
21.14 "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" 👌
We used to use these, we called them "iron fairies" I like the quick release coil,
the fire extuingisher when Joe was filling the oil caught me so off guard
Lol me too 🤣
Boys with their toys. Have a lot of fun!
It also has the boom extension. You pin the one side and swing it around and pin the other.
'Kin brill! cheers.
That's a keeper

excellent that cranes going to really useful
So cool lads and very compact for what it is!! not a fan of the no Seb’s to use though 😂🙈
Sam say's these are called carrydeck's as you can put the load on the flat bed on the front and drive with it, could be impressive with a Centurion engine on it😋😉😋
I like Ted’s gold lamé onesie.
Excellent looked more fun than fixing tanks lads
The phrase "it come off in me 'anď" comes to mind frequently wìhthis video.
If they ever start making cylinders of easy start. I'll be the one at the other end of the field!!🤣
Absolutely brilliant video..Pmsl..
fantastic vid lads u had my crying! you need to name the new bit of kit lads
🤣
"Not Seb's crane" could be a name for it after seeing what was written on the cab lol.
Tippy
@@shoots2001 what about wane the crane? lol
You guys do the NEATEST stuff.👍🇺🇸😎
November must be crane month on lubetube diesel creek / scrappy industries / now you very uplifting 😂
