My dad could be gruff, but his switch was keen to see when his boys needed support. A friend had left his 'Modified Stock Car' in my dad's gas station repair bay for weeks. Dad asked when it was going to be moved. I got all defensive and blurted out 'It doesn't even handle; the wheel base is too long.' In WW2, he used to modify Jeeps for a bit of racing fun. He quietly wheeled over the torches and pointed to the frame just behind the motor mounts. 'I figure 13 inches from here should do it.' In about an hour, it was stiched back together, plated (he was an excellent welder), and touched up. I was so proud of him when the owners jaw dropped open, followed by a smile. Now, it handled.

Man that BEAST will do a day's work! Nothing out works a CAT
My father kept a big old bulldozer for about 40 years,he used it once in the late seventies to level our big rear garden it then lived in his unit with his old trucks and tractors, fully maintained and kept tidy,When people asked him why he had it, his reply was always "It gives you the upper hand in any neighbourly disputes"😊 Its now taken the place of a well used Ford Super Major in the nearby boat yard, pulling boats up the slipway from the river. My father now owns the Super Major,because......well he's only got about 3 or 4 Majors already and he just can't help himself,FFS! 😂
The concept of those controls is so clever, It wouldn't take long to drive that as though you had been driving it for some time.
I had a Tonka D9 back in my youth, all metal and rubber tracks. All sorts of fun.
"light gardening and pruning" I can't wait to see that, what consitutes as "light" in a D9?
Top driving from Dangerous Dave!
You know what IVECO stands for?
If Vibrates Everything Comes Off.
My favourite thing to do is put MAS before the sign, and CK after it.

Hello from Canada. The old 9G was and is a good piece of equipment. There are those that will raise hell about crossing the road like that, but those are just the ones that don't know what the hell they are screaming about!
Sou fã das máquinas Caterpillar e ja me inscrevi no seu canal. D9 máquina muito possante. Obrigado pelo o vídeo.
Good looking old machine. I am surprised to see no windshield wipers on the cab though…in rainy UK
