The 6 button Saturn controller was so much better then PlayStation. It's starting to make a comeback with retro gamers.

Yup! The Saturn controller is truly the greatest 2d controller ever. I know people will make the argument with the SNES, but I always have to lean towards the Saturn. Even today, I’ll hook up a Saturn controller to my switch to play 2d games

Yeah one of my favorite all time shooters. Unlike Grind Stormer which is really awesome but unfriendly to those who aren't at least somewhat practiced with that era of shooters, Batsugun feels a little more friendly. I can't speak for the Saturn version but it's easy to laugh as you're pumping in your 10th credit (gotta love arcade emulation) just to beat one of the bosses.
I didn't know they made a version for modern consoles. I'll be sure to check it out. Any thoughts on a comparison between Batsugun and Radiant Silvergun?

Yea it’s one of my favorites too. And yup, it’s way more friendly to newcomers. I agree, Grind Stormer is great but not for the general population lol. From my understanding, the Saturn version is very close to the arcade version with extra content.
I would say Radiant Silvergun is wayyyy more in-depth with its chain attacks and 6 different weapons which is specific for each situation. Batsugun had similar elements, but it’s far off and more simple. Radiant Silvergun is by far my favorite shmup ever. It’s like a game of chess meets a shmup

Just a couple of quick language points: _Batsugun_ means "exceptional/outstanding" (抜群, literally 'removed from the crowd'), and the last part is pronounced as 'goon', not 'gun'. Both u's sound the same.

You don't like JRPGs? Sounds like you are more lamer, than gamer friend. Only joking, have a nice day.

Hahaha I don’t mind them, I just don’t have time for them and I never really played them as a kid. I’ve played a few that I loved like Chrono Trigger and Panzer Dragoon Saga. I just got bored with Final Fantasy series (although I still need to play the SNES ones). FF7 is a great game, just not so much my type of game. It’s funny cause I love action-adventure games like Zelda and dungeon crawlers like Hades and the Diablo series. I play those non-stop

@@VicariouslyRetro if you like Zelda-like games give Linkle Liver Story (Saturn) a go. It's a spiritual successor to Crusader of Centy (Genesis/Mega Drive)
