The Cubs is the dark horse team for Sasaki IMHO. I hope he keeps things interesting and go somewhere besides the Dodgers.
Without knowing what Sasakis preferences are it's difficult to imagine him wanting to play anywhere other than LA. He'll have the chance to win each year the entire time and he'll get to do it with Ohtani and Yamamoto who will also be there for his entire 6 years of team control. Not to mention he'll get to play with some of this countries best players in Betts and Freeman.
If the Dodgers get Sasaki they will have put together this centuries 1927 Yankees.
I highly doubt that someone of his age wants to be lost in the sea of faces there in LA. He will forever play in the shadow of the other stars already in that organization. He will have no personal brand.
@@ItsAlexJohnsonMusic After playing for a brutal team in Japan, he wants to win. He dislikes attention and was targeted in Japan. Don't think the potential lack of brand cancels out the positives of playing with shohei and yoshi
@@ItsAlexJohnsonMusic Japanese players are not like American players. He wants a prioritize, comfort and lifestyle. He also wants to play for a stable franchise. The Dodgers are really the only team that firmly checks each box.
@@mayuyufan Plus, the Dodgers don't look upon paying good players with disdain. Even if the money isn't there in this coming contract, the next one is just around the corner.
Cubs recruiting pitch = They told him, Cubs win today
keep in mind roki is not the only player coming from japan this offseason. similar to how yamamoto wasn't the only player last offseason (e.g. imanaga). e.g. sugano, ogasawara, okamoto, etc
I think it's possible he comes to the Cubs, though unlikely. Already having Suzuki, but especially Imanaga coming over last year and endearing himself to fans and becoming a fan favorite. That's gotta help. Crossing fingers.
This outta be good...what's the pitch...we love mid-tier players and intelligent spending... not sure what a winning culture is but we have an amazing fanbase...TA DAAAAaaaaaa
I can't see the Cubs getting him since every team can obviously afford his rookie deal. The Cubs would have to outbid teams with a big contract in order to lure him to Chicago, IMO.
He's obviously not interested in money, so what are his motivations? If it's simply to win above anything else, the Dodgers would make a fine choice. If he wants to win but also NOT be in anyone's shadow (Ohtani, Yamamoto), then other teams have a good chance.
he is going to be a dodger.
Miyagi is BETTER than Roki. Make his post!
