And the test he does are all strange ones. FRS performance and frame gen on. i would take that if he showed the regular ones. 1080p, 1400p and 4K, all at max settings. That way its easy to compare against other machines. i used the Shadow of TR test to compare. It's around 60-65% of a 7700XT/4070 in terms of perfomance

If $999 is barebones, then the margin for earnings is ridiculously small.
Their AR900i is around $550 and the GPU even as a mobile retails for like $700 alone with the Oculink setup. I find it crazy that price.

I think we should satisfy ourselves with something good and stick to it. USB-4 has a bandwidth of 40Gbps, which is kinda slow. USB-5 and its 120Gbps would be the sweet spot IMO. ROG's XG Mobiles have a bandwidth of 80Gbps so that's why I think USB-5 could be a nice (and why not permanent) standard.

    Super nice little PC!
I have the GPD G1 so always fun seeing benches for the same GPU.
I have a request if you don't mind- please run gaming benchmarks without upscaling and especially without frame generation.
You can obviously add those after.
That way we can tell the actual performance for those who would like to play at the highest possible quality.
For example the video sample of Horizon 2 looked terrible (fsr balanced after all), and I was watching on a 1080p 43" tv...

AMD and minisforum have done a great job here. Now let's wait for Amd ryzen Strix Halo and see if Lisa Su keeps what she promises, because if so, next year we will see an epochal increase in performance for a chiplet with integrated GPU that is between an RTX 4060 and an RTX 4070 .

This is totally overpriced

    • @fredericmanson441

The CPU, the GPU and the case conception are what why the step price for the barebone is high. I calculated a complete setup with a MSI 1440p screen, it rocks at €1800. I'm tempted to purchase it due to its small form factor AND low power consumption. I don't need a 4K capable machine. I know that I could build a "cheap" setup with better specs, but I'm done assembling PC.
