that true ! ya almost 17k on the truck its been all over the Midwest about to head over to Michigan tomorrow to filming and in 2 weekend going back down to Land between the lakes or the Ozarks and doing some camping there miles are going up fast my day to day job I'm only 15 miles away
I wish they would make it to where it's automatically off whenever you start your vehicle. If you want to use it then you have to push the button to turn it on.
Would be nice if the device made the light off by default too to signify that auto stop start actually is disabled. I feel like a device that disables that feature entirely should be able to disable the light too. To me, light = on.
I purchased one for my 2023 Colorado WT. I ended up removing it, as I noticed that the truck instrumentation was taking a lot longer to come up. After I removed it. Never had problems after that. That was my experience
Yea, I just use the factory provided defeat switch instead of a rats nest of wires and tricking the ecm. It’s not exactly a chore to push a button if you want it to turn off.
My Bad , it’s to the ground wire. Maybe when filming at the time I see black wire. I just assume. Everyone knows black is. Ground and red is for hot wire
I buy 2024 colorado in korea just 3 weeks ago I think more RPM, more vibaration when engine restar in green right so when i drive i always turn off auto stop but sometime i forgot it 😢 thank you for information!
Has far as I seen you can Hit the switch to turn off the light and still have the auto start/stop is able and it will remember the next time you get in
Yeah the auto engine shut off is annoying, but a quick flip of the switch is easy enough for me and I can live with that, and the best part is it's free - 🤑 The module you installed is a convenient end to switch flippin which is cool, however just for me I’m thinkin our ZR2’s are full of so much computer run tech that I’ve been leaving mine stock because I’m no computer expert or troubleshooter, and I don’t want to have some accessory I installed or hacked in cause a problem somewhere else in the system and disable me in the middle of nowhere, or anywhere for that matter. It's not convenient repairing stuff, and especially having to wait forever on the dealer to attempt to fix it and them break ten other things in the process and not tell you - 😠 Just say’in - 😎
It's been going better than well. 3 long trips to Moab and the surrounding areas in the ZR2, and some trips to Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon.... Life is better retired ~ 😁😎
I believe it’s the same company that makes one for the Broncos as well… Fortunately, the StartStop is automatically disabled in Sport Mode or in 4Lo… so the only modes I use, turn it off 😂
@@josephbreen9955 luckily with the smart stop, you can pull it out and they’ll never know but yes if he can avoid warranty, but again I don’t really care about warranty
The Auto-StartStop is so annoying. Don't see why Chevy couldn't make it an option. May look into getting this. Side note: Finally, after 9 months, I saw another ZR2. Seen multiple Trail Boss, LT, and even WT, but no ZR2s.
I wish it was just a one push and down deal like some of the higher end cars have only turns back on once you push it again ! I have yet to see another ZR2 around by me I see a ton of TB and zr1 but yet to see a new gen ZR2 a lot of the older gen though
I did this to my 2023 Colorado and upon first start it makes a popping sound out the left speaker when you engage the turn signal, it pops once then its good for until you restart again.Any one else experiencing this?
@@alwaysdifferent Ya I did everything it said to do,But i get that first start up pop when I turn blinkers on.Ill put up with it its worth the hassle of pushing that button. Thanks
@@davvila2244 it is holiday week so maybe out of town. if you got the same one I have I believe its just a one man show. so maybe after this weekend they will get back to you !
First off; appreciate the video, so this is zero criticism of you. My problem is with GM making stop-start so hard to cancel. I disabled my Jeep JL Wrangler by simply disconnecting an actuator … 2 minutes of effort. Some Fords are a simple fuse pull. This is way too much drama to simply disable stop-start … not good & it’s definitely not a solution for me.
I greatly appreciate that !! I great with you all the car company's are making it hard. I know some car company's have it you push it once and it will stay off until you push it again. I did the same thing to my jeep truck with the JL tazer.
To meet the Cafe requirements it needs to default to the on position. Just be glad that so far the govt mandates allow us to even have a disable button.
Oh wow you put some miles on it, nice!!!! I prevent auto start stop just down temperature below 70f, its work, but good to know about this device.

Love it ….. great video as always. Also the ease of install is a bonus 🥳
all thanks to you buddy !!!! i forgot that you told me about it a while back I just randomly thought about it

i agree it should just come from the factory ! not in a aftermarket
Some environmentalists green dude wired it

Sounds like you got it figured out!
Wish you had clarified if you were hooking this up to the ground wire or the hot wire.
My Bad , it’s to the ground wire. Maybe when filming at the time I see black wire. I just assume. Everyone knows black is. Ground and red is for hot wire
Need to pay more for all the extra shit for them to add start stop. Then need to pay for an aftermarket part to disable start stop.
Dude hell yeah! Need this! I hate manually turning this off cuz it also shuts off my dash cam 🙄 thanks for this vid 🤘🏼
They should make one that does both shutting of auto stop start and the cylinder deactivation
The problem is I think the 2.7 is an actual mechanical not software cylinder deactivation
@@alwaysdifferent well thats interesting. I wonder how that works.
Thanks!

To me it’s worth it
Got mine today, and just installed it at 10pm tonight!

How about programming your device to also turn off the light on the switch. Awaiting your response before purchasing device.
Has far as I seen you can Hit the switch to turn off the light and still have the auto start/stop is able and it will remember the next time you get in
So what happens if I just unplug the switch from the wiring
if you just unplug the smartstopstart just make sure you plug the two wires back in with each other. will more then likely throw a code
I've been waiting for this product.
you and me both Andy van. up in Canada told me about this product a while back and I just forgot about it

What is that hood work light?!??
that working light is just from harbor freight. i think it was like 100 buck or something like that with the bar and the light
