Router table build part 2. Mobile table with dust collection and storage to improve organization

  • Part 2 of my mobile router table build. In this video I will build the fence system, install the dust collection and all the drawaers. The table will feature a Jessem Rout-R-Lift ll, it will fit under the right extension wing of my table saw, have plenty of storage space, an adjustable fence with dust collection, and have a built in cross cut sled. This will be a great addition to my shop and will allow me to do much safer template routing in the future due to the large work surface. The addition of a miter track and t-track will allow the use of feather boards and stop blocks for more work piece control as well.
‪@Jer_Schmidt‬ Thank you for the sled/drawer idea! Your modular cabinet video was awesome!

They say to copy someone is the greatest compliment. I stole the idea for my build but made it vertical. Great idea!

When you said "don't do it" at miter saw, I was thinking that you would make a erroneous cut; only when you said "you're about to loose your fingers" I realised the risk related. Thanks for pointed it.

Ran across your build...trying to decide if I want to build a stand-alone router table or incorporate it into my outfeed table that I am currently building...still undecided...but what I did decide was hitting that subscribe button because I discovered a new channel that I like and appreciate your work...GREAT JOB on the table!!!

Brilliant idea to store the cross cut sled at the bottom as a false drawer!! Hope you don’t mind but I’ll be stealing that idea.

Nice job. Looks like it'll last a lifetime. You did good by being meticulous about making sure the fence is square and ensuring you have good dust collection. I saw Jer's video on his modular shop cabinet system, it's amazing. Looking forward to more of your videos, keep it up.

Part 1 was brilliant to watch u make the frame and casing up for this really sweet router table. MDF is lethal. I ended up with Conjunctivitis from working with that stuff. The dust from that and Plywood is way too fine from table saws and routers.
I gotta say I would love to own one of those beautiful HARVEY TABLE SAWS. Is it true that HARVEY created the Saw Stop mechanism for stopping the blade from cutting ur hands or fingers off? They build some really nice machines, accessories, etc.
I would spend my money on one of those saws when I have the money but to get one in IRELAND is very hard. I need to buy one from one of their affiliates in Holland or somewhere like that.
This isn't about table saws I know but I love those saws. U get more for ur money with HARVEY too I believe. It's crazy how much cheaper they are than the other big name brands.
This router table is stunning bro. Keep up the brilliant content/. I got some nice ideas from this one. Thanks very much my friend..

Thank you for watching and the kind words. After having my saw for about 2 months now I can say I’m impressed with its build quality. I’ve never owned or used a competitors high end saw so I don’t have a frame of reference but I bet they would go toe to toe. I had a small issue with the fence when unboxing the new saw and the customer service was great. New part was at my door in 4 days. Bummer it’s hard to get in your location, I imagine the shipping cost would really affect the price savings. Thanks again and I hope you have a great day!!

Genius to have bottom ‘drawer’ be your sled. (Jer is likewise a genius.) Where do you store your router table fence when your table is under TS wing? Thanks for making and sharing your videos.

Fence is going to be mounted on the post that’s always been the bane of my shop layout. It’s right next to the where the table is. Make the best of the space I have. Thanks for watching!!

@@squareandlevel Thanks. Please do a shop tour video and become an Amazon affiliate (you’ll benefit as will your viewers from knowing what tools, etc, you’ve used on each product.) BTW, do you have the link or description for the small parts organizers you have in the top drawer in the left side of your miter station? Thanks, again. I’ve now watched all of your videos, which are improving rapidly. You should be proud. I think your channel will continue growing rapidly (especially if you start doing plans, although I imagine it’s a pain to do plans if you didn’t make them before the project.)

I just noticed that the miter sled grooves in your assembly table are black inside to match the top of the table. I love this improvement and I’ve never seen anyone else do this. Did you use paint or what? Thanks.

Thanks for all the comments and kind words. I really appreciate it. Going to wait till the shop is finished to do a tour. 3/4 way done. I briefly looked into the Amazon affiliate program and got pulled away. Definitely need to look more into it. I just taped off the laminate and sprayed the miter grooves with flat spray paint on the out feed table. Link for containers-
