Seeing Lucas with A LOT of emotion just puts a smile to my face and idk why but he’s definitely improved as a person live on stage. Solid drumming tho as always!
I feel like it's a break in process You play a song live for the first few times, you are gonna watch your guitar and make sure you get it right. Once comfortable after some live events, you care less about playing and start relaxing, and start making your presentation better on stage.
@Mike Caputo saw you play w RoS here in Pittsburgh right around a year ago (late summer '19), superb set and you crushed it w ease and flair...we sadly just lost the Rex Theatre as yet another venue closed here this year. I wasn't sure of your name but wondered since and was psyched to see you pop up on my feed just now. Cheers//catch you next time!
Do it man! I have all of my personal keep sakes from concerts hanging up on my bedroom wall (all nine of em'). Favorite thing about the scene is the band members are almost always super chill, but the drummers ALWAYS are crazy nice dudes. Hell, I've even gotten a couple hugs from some cats I look up too. Keep that shit forever bro! Cheers.
@@DirtyBirdConway honestly I dont remember if they played this or not. I might be getting the shows mixed up (been to a lot lately). But they were great regardless.
I was at Blind Tiger, drummer wore a tobagen, definitely played Godless Times, they were fucking perfect. I truly and honestly don't understand the hate they get. They're amazing
I'm confused by the triggering?? I'm seeing light 1 and 2 come on for right/left kick respectively, but I don't see another kick to trigger? Explain pls ¿
I use Footblaster triggers and they are mounted on my pedal, not on the drum. I use a double pedal, so one trigger for right pedal, one trigger for left pedal
Great playing, Mike. What sample is being used for the kick? Sounds amazing as well. Also, what kind of spring tension are you using on those Copyto's? Thanks
I get my kick, the click, and literally the complete CD audio of the song we're playing as a reference. It helps me relax and feel like I'm practicing by myself
@@MikeCaputo Ah okay. So you have the studio version drums in there aswell? Nice tactic. So you don't get any of your drums in there? I find it can be a bit nice to have some snare to hear some faster blasts more clearly. However I do use on ear drumheadphones which don't let alot of snare through imo.
In this video I'm playing, 17 and 18 Sabian AAX Stage crashes. Sometimes I swap the 17 out for an 18 HHX O-Zone. When I use my Meinl crashes they're 18 and 19
@@yoyoz333 I had a bunch of problems with Trick. The proprietary cables for the triggers kept dying, the bearing that rolls with the plate on the spring would wear down flat spots so I could feel it like a car going over a pothole, snapping heads off key bolts, the bolt that holds the drive shaft into the hub came loose and stripped out the inside of the hub
@@MikeCaputo i have had mine for 12 years and have had some similar issues. i have had one of the beater threads get stripped, im on my 3rd drive shaft, and i currently need to replace the core hub for the drive shaft connection. so far, no issues with my triggers, but the triggers are a big factor why i want to stay with trick. im a bit skeptical on those footblaster triggers.
I have tried to steal a drum stick from you 2 times and been stopped both times by someone. You must have some gnarly personal security for your sticks man.
Considering I have to pay for them myself, you'd literally be stealing money from me. So pro tip: if someone doesn't give you something, don't take it.
@@MikeCaputo That's a fair point. I apologize for trying to jack yer sticks man. They definitely are not cheap by any means. Certainly not as affordable or as disposable as guitar picks. You win. From now on I will bring you drum sticks instead.
Don't get me wrong, this track no doubt places a *considerably* high technical and physical demand on the drummer; but certainly not as demanding as most other ROS Tunes on many of their live sets.. Maybe I'm just trippin, but it seems like in the vast majority of playthrough vids are of their *comparably* instrumentally easier songs. LOL like I want to see this fucker play Hive, or some crazy shit like that
Now THIS is Rings of Saturn
Killing it man. Hopefully they decide to make you full time drummer.
I know right
Nope
Aaron is too irreplaceable please no ):

Someone who can actually play Aaron Kitchers recording lol
Aaron programmed the drums on Lugal Ki En. He didn't actually play them in a studio.
When did Aaron kitcher play for ROS?
Alex Nourse all the drums in Lugal ki en were done by him

Nicholas Talarico Nah Im pretty sure aaron kitcher did the drums for that album
