I agree tho' Why not just call the guy and talk to him about how you feel? Just publicly shaming him for thousands of ppl to see? That's not what i would call respect....
I am 61 years young and have backpacked and camped for alot of those years. Now I cannot. I'm on O2 24/7. But I get a real kick out of watching your adventures on my computer. Keep on rockin' it!
Nice of him to leave a contact number...Lucky you, ever time we return back to our sugar camps and fish camps, half the lodges are burned & trash is everywhere, Stuff if stolen and windows broken. This Mysterious Mark, was nice enough to leave dry wood, and didn't burn your lodge down...Nice guy.
I agree Kanzee. He left his info so that would leave me less anxious about the guy. Tape is lil odd tho. I'm pretty sure this is a farmers land he got permission to be on.
Caleb Mills....I was a little curious about that tape also....was he trail marking, or setting up something, perhaps, and forgot it ?? The tape does stand out against the lighter tree bark...mmm?? Idk ...lol . cheers
Man…. Rewatching all the vids from back in the day and knowing that you’d have so many ups and downs you have shared since this is INSANE. And knowing that you are now over a million and a half subscribers blows my mind! Well deserved!
You guys are being very inconsiderate. This is Joe's camp and he hasn't experienced anyone else being at the camp he has built. He has never said that he was upset about it. This is where I am confused with your dumb ass comments
Joe, you are doing a GREAT service to unfortunate souls. The guy that changed what you have done, doesn't fully understand and adapted. People have their ways. If I were you, ide feel good about others finding such. It's a shelter after all... I'm a fiend on this channel! Keep it going!
Joe could you please start making more cooking contents? I've always loved the part where you start making fire and your dinner. It's so calm and authentic to watch as a viewer even when it's simple food or you boiling snow/water to make a cup of tea or chocolate. I truly love all your contents since i'm a big fan of nature & bushcraft but would still love if you dedicated a couple minutes extra on food in every video you make.
Hi Joe, thanks for another great video. My question is, Since you've been bushcrafting and camping outdoors, what has been the one meal that you have always remembered and why? Thank you! :)
I think the guy who used your camp was pretty nice. Left you some dry wood, moved the rocks around, but clearly wasn't trying to be rude. Nice of him to leave his contacts! Your should do a video with him! :)
My philosophy, if you're gonna use someone else's camp, at least use it as the person has set it up. Leave it how you found it. I can understand if someone is in a survival situation, but that's no excuse for rudeness.
I dream of a day i return to my camp and dont have a mess especially my fire pit. ive taken so much time to find the rocks have and place them the way I have. to every time have it destoryed and looking a mess from.some teens who got drunk and decided they know best. I notice its usually set up in a sketchy fashion at that.
Agree if I stumble across a camp that I use I was taught leave it in better condition than you find it. Don’t disturb what they have already set up. I would probably just leave a small cache of fire wood tinder and kindling in a safe place so it remains dry
@@yeahtbh.161 you are the problem with society these days. No respect for anyone or anything. 1st of all joe is in Canada, not the US. Not a free country. 2nd even going by US standards, the rule of the woods has always been to leave it like you found it. If you need to use it fine ,but put it back the way it was. Going way back to the revolutionary days people were shot for invading someone else's camp. Especially when they left a mess.
@@beastman2513 random dude didn't leave a mess. Instead of hacking up his work, maybe take a minute to understand what he was trying to accomplish. Home boy acted like an ass. Your right about the fire pit though. Dont fuck with someones set up like that.
While out on your trips with Scout, have you ever encountered other wildlife, especially threatening wildlife? How does he react and what do you do to control that situation? I have a siberian husky, and am very interested in spending time outdoors and camping with her, but am concerned that all of her training will go out the window when she sees a deer, rabbit, or even a predator. I know the easy answer is to have a really well trained dog, but I am more interested in your personal experiences regarding your trips with Scout. Thanks man, great videos, love the ones with Scout, especially "Winter Camping in a Canvas Tent with a Dog and a Woodstove."
How did you aquire all of your bushcraft knowledge? Was it from other people, internet, books, school, etc? Also, what inspired you to make bushcraft videos?
Hey! I'm from North Carolina. Love the vids. Here is my question: What is the best way to learn how to identify plants and trees when you are starting out bushcrafting? (as I am new to bushcraft)
tree identification books, carry one with you. If you don't want to do that grab a leaf from a tree you don't know, when you get home(or internet) look up that tree. North American tree identification book: www.amazon.com/Trees-North-America-Identification-Revised/dp/1582380929 US tree identification website: www.arborday.org/trees/whattree/ I have used neither of these. I have no idea about the quality of the information or the ease of finding the information. The book has decent reviews, the website seems very easy to use.
Hey Joe, a friend of mine brought me to your channel. We already did some great hiking trips through the Alps but never went for the bushcraft, low equip, great equip, nature-like, steak bacon fire and a lovely dog thing you do. Not that we miss out on bacon, steak, the willpower to bushcraft the hack out of the forests or a lovely dog (even mine, a german shepard and whatsoever, not to far from Scout, is no more, we have a lot of animal shelter dogs which i work with) it´s not so easy to find a suitable place in our area. We decided to go for a little longer drive ( not too far but also not too sure if we will find a good place) and see how it works. We both have DD Tarps, used them a couple of times in our area, learned how to use a firesteel, split down wood and stuff like that, the knots you showed and in general we like nature and know how to use our hands. If everything goes well im looking forward to sending you a picture with a Scout Sticker decorated water bottle and a nice fire in the background. As you asked for a question (in no way was the giveaway my reason to write this comment) here it is. As someone who is going to try stuff like you do for the first time, what advice, apart from what we could learn from your videos, and what is basic camping knowledge, could you give to two relatively young (25) Germans who are looking forward to hear from you? If that is to general here are some things i would like to know: how many meters of paracord do you usually carry with you and at which length (for a normal tarp setup + other use)? Do you have a favorite amount of gear to work with ( there is a different perfect amount of gear for different kind of trips but which is your favorite)? Do you have any kind of music or musician that gets you into the bushcraft mood or you prefer to listen to while driving to your adventures? Greetings from Germany :)
I seriously think I've watched all your videos and shown them to all my family and friends! lol but seriously man I watch a bunch of Busch crafters but I always fall asleep watching your old videos to brush up on some techniques! you're great at explaining what's going on and why, man! Thanks for such great material all the time!!
As someone who is just starting out, with a limited budget, where do you recommend allocating the funds? Where should I spend the bulk of my funds and where can I skimp a bit? Congrats, Joe. Look forward to hearing from you!
Ronnie Flynn Mora is one of the best bushcraft knives out there and they are 15$-20$ USD. You can get military surplus ALICE packs that are amazing for bushcraft. I have been using mine for years and it still looks new. Boots and clothes are the real essentials, buy wool or manmade materials avoid cotton, everything else will last you a long time until you can get better by just taking care of it. IMO, learn skills before worrying about toys, the better your skill set is the less stuff you need to buy.
from my personal experience, get a mora knife, dirt cheap and seriously well regarded, also a decent brand new tarp if you wish to do so the dd 3x3 is awesome and isnt too expensive, i have been out in heavy rain and cheap rain protection is a killer depending on where you live. You can get just about everything you will need from military surplus at a fraction of the cost of the same quality of other gear at high prices. An example of this would be a british army goretex bivvi, it costs roughly $30- 40 and is made of exactly the same material and build quality as bivvis around the $150-200 mark
Joe, Does the time you spend on bushcraft and UA-cam ever negatively impact your family time? What are some things you have done to achieve a good work life balance? Love your stuff! Keep it up, subscriber 4 Life!
What was your toughest bushcraft camp out and why? I am a fairly new subscriber and 13 years old. I got into a little bushcraft myself for the last two years and seeing your UA-cam channel has been an inspiration. Every time you upload a video I instantly watch. When I go to school all I can think about it me trying to be just like u at my property. I am currently building a mini shelter/cabin with my little bro and trying to use some of ur skills to do so. Thank u so much keep up the great work.
I am a Dutch boy of 15 years old I love camping, mountain climbing, hiking, and making fire. I want to buy a wood stove but do not know what I should buy? that's my question (sorry for my english)
Hey Joe! TOUGH question: If you were to be stranded in the wilderness for a whole month or even a year; what two people would you take (Scout counts...) and what 10 items would you take to share between you?? Support coming from Scotland!! =D
I am about to be the proud owner of this knife and I am totally thrilled. I love that I am able to purchase something that I will use for a lifetime and support you as well. Also it is extremely cool to rewatch this at 250,000 and to see where you are now. Cheers
Hey Joe, If you were to design a product for bushcraft/camping/hunting, what would it be, and how would you make it different or better than other products on the market? Or maybe you have something unique? Cheers from BC.
Wow Attitude is everything,, NO Trespassing!!,, Keep OUT,, this is MY lean-to LOL,,, ( oh by the way, thanks for the standing dry wood you left,, but I pushed it into the snow anway)
Just recently started watching your videos, keep up the great work! I'm learning a lot from them and you've inspired me to plan a solo camping trip for myself. What's the scariest or worst experience you've had while camping?
@Austin Surber ...that goes for 99,8% of the questions asked here to be part of the giveaway..... I´ve been subscribed to the channel for what... 3 months? watched about 70% of Joe´s videos.....and could easily answer most of the questions, the very (too?) personal ones aside. Do people watch his stuff with the sound off and their brains on the shelf or what? :o :D Ooooh I´m gonna get fried for this one :S Oh, to have a dollar for every "What´s your favorite axe?" :P *The guy that asked "Will you ever go on a canoe trip?"* is my fav! He should deffo win a prize :D
Bro, you have inspired me so much. I have been watching your video's for a few days and always wanted to do this. You have inspired me to go and camp with my son trying your bush craft skills as ideas to have a fun experience in the woods here in Utah. Thank you very much.
383,000 views and only 18000 likes and 745 dislikes. Wonder what everybody else thought? Slowly watching all of the Joe content - it's all great stuff. Getting me into the hobby, so I can enjoy my other hobby, which is flying drones. I like places with no people, what can I say? Just thought I'd drop in and say hey! Rock on Joe, rock on.
The joys of having 200,000 subscribers is you're going to have about at least 50 stalkers out of that. You're going to find electrical tape wrapped around your mailbox before you know it
Hi Joe! My question! Has Scout ever rescued or help you survive a bad situation in the wilderness? If yes, whats the story? Congrats on your 250k + subscribers!!!
Yes, If you watch an earlier video he describes where Scout placed himself in between a Pitbull and Emerald. Scout was injured bad but he never let the dog near the baby.
You know, I’m pretty territorial about my camps as well. Especially because I’m in a remote part of Northern Manitoba, so I REALLY don’t expect to see any sign of anyone at my camps. But it has happened and I do get a little flustered. However, it is crown land and you have to bite the bullet. Anyone on here complaining about your attitude has probably never spent a night out in the bush once in their life or putting any effort into their own camp.
What has been the biggest struggle/setback you have faced in your life? What did you do to move forward? Sorry its kinda a double question.👍🏻 thanks for chance at this awesome giveaway!
Hey Joe my question for ya is what age did you start taking your daughter on overnighters? I have a newborn and can't wait for her to get a little older to show her the wonders of the outdoors!
does it mater what age you are? people used to live their whole life in the wild, from birth till death. (of course it's safer to not go to a too remote location.)
It's different now. If something were to happen social services and stuff could be involved for "lack of judgement". It's a cold climate today. I am however not saying you guys shouldn't. You do whatever you want to do. Me personally I would wait until she's 3-4. Mainly because they're better company when they can talk :)
Nathan K. Adventures my daughter has been camping since she was about 16 months she two now and just sleep her first night in a child's zero degree in 30 degree weather and slept all night the real thing is how good are you in the woods and who is your support staff I would never take her over night without a fellow woodsman. She walks away at night with no flashing so I glow stick her up like a rave
Scout is such a patient & curious companion in the woods. Amazing personality. We watch, just to see what Scout does. Guardian. Peer. Demanding nothing, but to be close to the actions of "Sir Boss." Such devotion, discipline, kindness are rare in man, or man's best friend. RIP scout......... Watch: Connecticut Yankee In King Authur's Court (1949).
You should look for a camera around your camp. Might have put the tape there in camera view so he could get you on camera taking the tape off. Makes you stay in one place longer to get a good view. Just a guess.
Lol it would be so funny if it is one of Joe's friends and yes your right. That could have been tape put there to mark the spot in camera view if there is one. If there is one. It would have to be in the very far distance not to be noticed. Therefore you would need Joe to be on higher ground. The tape might have been put on higher ground to get him in view. Just in case they thought Joe didn't put it on camera all of what he found. They would have it to add to their channel later. Now that would be funny as all hell. If not then just a person that tried to be respectful as he could. But it didn't pan out that way with not putting it back as he found it.
I mean he spent days on his camp putting stuff where he wants it just to have it moved while he was gone and stuff like tape on trees and branches tied to trees. He probably just doesn't like people messing with his stuff in general (which is completely fine). I think id be a little peeved too.
But is Joe on Public Land? If so, that shelter is everyone's. I wouldn't like it if someone used my shelter I built and changed things. That would perturb me for someone to change things I have done. Not a problem to use my shelter. Just don't change anything! I'm OCD (Obsessive Camping Disorder) !
Joe you should appreciate the fact that Mark didn't vandalism your camp and was nice enough to leave you that message to explain the changes at your campsite
hey Joe, I love the videos! my question would be as a young guy in my early 20s, money's tight what with college and all. my question is what are some of the of gear investments that I should prioritize to get started? thanks again bud keep it up!
Spooky McDoots Joe has never claimed to be anything special he just a normal guy who likes spending time in the outdoors, Joe works for what he has he's not some rich man buying whatever he wants he's just an average guy who saves up for nice things just like most people. It's completely unfair to criticize someone for buying an expensive knife when they worked so hard to get it, he probably has been thinking about this purchase for so long and was excited and wanted to share this with others I personally love Joes videos and yes once in awhile I learn something new from him.
Joe, I've watched a lot (not all, I do have to work and sleep) of your videos, by far, best UA-camr I've come across. I look for new videos like I'm watching a TV series. I totally got your feeling on the Mark situation. You weren't even mad, I'd be railing if someone messed with my camp like that. Keep 'em coming, so inspiring and positive.
Where do you see "bushcrafting" going in the future? Do you see it as something that is benefitting from the technology available to us? Or is the technology and new tools really hurting the concept of bushcrafting?
Bro, perhaps it's time to find a new spot? Seems like (back when Mark Walberg was) Marky Mark has messed with the vibes of this here place... Then You could build a Joesooper Camp 😎
The tape is probably to not be mistaken by hunters as game. Lots of packs, rain attire or other gear will have some sort of bright orange marking for this purpose.
I love the vids Joe, watched you on Alone as well which looked pretty bad ass, but when someone who appreciates the outdoors too and spent the time to carve a message into a bit of wood, think that possibly you could have wrote a little note back even if you didn't want to call him, fact he left a little bit of dry wood for you is a tell tale sign he tried to leave the camp as he found it, pieces of cord left around may be am indication he left in a hurry for whatever reason, I hope I misunderstood your reaction to someone finding a little refuge in something you built, as for me I would be quite stoked that whilst it was sat there unoccupied someone made use of it.
tasker devere bro. the dude is wierd as hell leaving a note for someone he apparently doesn't know. He didnt leave the fucking wood to help out, what is he supposed to do scatter it around???
Joe, what made you want to start doing bushcraft? What inspired you to connect to nature in the way that you do? I am 14 years old and I have been doing bushcraft for 4 years with my grandfather but I never really understood the exact reason why i liked it so much. I love your channel, it has helped me so much, so thank you.
I get that, im not saying id be furious and wouldn't understand why or how someone would stubble upon it and use it im just saying it would bug me, in a territorial/sentimental sense! That's his shelter and his space that he's build, probably feels a little crappy, especially when they start doing weird shit like that guy did! I totally understand your point but that's not the angle i was coming from.
Gotta agree with some of the comments. Master of domain, suggests it is actually a domain. Unless there is a deed and the property is marked clearly, one cannot expect a campsite to remain as one left it.
I think it's alarming how many people in the comments say they would be upset if they experienced another person using their shelters while they was away, even though it's on public ground... Even if it had been my cabin on my own property I'd be pleased that someone got use out of the place while i was away.. You guys make it seem like U.S. citizens generally get spooked and upset over just about anything...
Yugoslavia consisted of countries: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia and Montenegro.... now they are all independent states. I know because I am from "Serbia"
Back in my time....As long as the camp wasn't destroyed all welcome for its use. It was a good welcoming thing. A good pass by will always get dry wood for the next person and tidy before leaving.
Wondering...are you on private or public property? If public... it kind of doesn't belong to just you. If private (yours or a friend's), Mark should get permission before crashing.
People practice LNT all over Canada--Joe included. But these are woods he has permission to be on, and he has built a camp he can come back to whenever he pleases (I have a very similar land on a local farmers land, whose permission I have). It's just easier. You don't have to build a shelter every time you go out, and sometimes going out is only for a few hours at a time. Sometimes it is over night.
The guy was at least polite enough to let you know who he was and left a number!! And he didn't destroy anything and also left dry wood!! Plus you're shelter isn't private property!! You left it in the woods!!?? In the U.S. on some of the longer trails people have built over night shelters and anyone on the trail can use them!!
Annnnnddd I'd never go back there again. Are people so naive to think that the visitor had only good and perhaps not ill intentions? Joe is out there on his own talking to no-one but his camera... Which by the way has noone in it. We're watching him not live, but a lot later. He is on his own. Joe may be a public figure but that doesn't mean he has to make friends with every and anyone. Normal people have boundaries and wouldn't do what the fan did. It's freaky. Joe, don't be telling us your location. Nor where you live, which btw you have and it would not be hard to find your home. There are strange people out there.
smiler you must live in a scary world in ur head no see I’m pretty sure joe can take care of him self thus may be hard for you to understand but that also could have been set up you know bear gyrls style for his fans see how much joe cares he didn’t respond to u. I’m sorry u are afraid of everything u must live life take risks I camp alone in dangerous places n I’m ok too and us Americans out in the bush usually carry rather large guns to make up for cock size so I know most of us are safe thanks mom . Stfu
This is my favorite one so far, I was laughing at all the weird stuff you found that guy left behind. I've watched a lot of your videos, you do a great job. Keep it up!!!
the guy clearly knew who's "spot" it was, and you never know there are some weird people out there ;) stalker fan. Instead people should write to him, let's try and figure out something instead of just "creeping in". I might be wrong, i see it like that.
You said in your Get to Know Joe E4that when scout passes on you were going to get two different breed of dogs other than what scout is German shepard\ Belgian Malinois. Why not get the same breed? Why the other breed? Seems you really loved scout. Awesome vids. keep up the good work. Keeps me entertained here in Papillion, Nebraska
Not only that, as Joe has mentioned in previous video's the German Shepherd breed and Large dogs in general have hip problems so maybe he doesn't want to put another dog in the situation of loving the woods but being to sore after a short period of time.?
What is the "double boiler" pot set you cooked the eggs in (and where did you get it)? Also, what shelter set-up would you use/prefer for longer term stays in the wilderness? Stays such as 3, 6, 12 months and longer vs a few days or weeks. Thank you for the work you put into these videos, the thought, editing, and time shows.
I found your channel through Doug Outside, I really like your channel and ultimately subscribed. Your videos are pretty cool, I enjoy having a laugh and sometimes I learn a thing or two but I've got to say your reaction to a fellow outdoor enthusiast clearly trying to make friends though a mutual spot and love of the outdoors is disappointing. You're obviously an inspiration to that guy or gal, maybe consider being a leader/mentor and not so petty. Just my two cents
You can tell he isn't happy about the other camper. Joe wears his emotions on his sleeve. He seemed nice enough to leave you his number and some dry wood. Just relax, joe, you could meet a new friend.
Tim, stop writing people letters on fallen limbs. If you want to meet a new friend try Tinder. They're all looking for new friends on there too, rather than the solitude some of us seek from the wilderness.
Ego is a very tricky thing. It is NOT your true self. And Joe, you definitely introduced me, as a viewer, to your ego. Aside from that, I still am into your videos and I will continue to enjoy them. Keep up the great content regardless!
Hey why are you so mad a Mark he kinda helped you kept the wood dry, you got cordage, and free fire wood. He might of tied the wood to the trees so they would stay and you could use them for fire wood, but maybe the tape was to MARK some thing under the snow XD. ALSO I thought it was very nice of him to leave his phone number, he might of thought you would call to see if it was okay. Also if I was camping ON PUBLIC PROPERTY I would use some ones else camp (I think it would be like when you find an awesome place to stay for the night but better). But I love your vids keep up the good work. PS mark sounds like a cool dude. ALSO I'm going to say you used all of the wood from to box just to make him mad and make it harder for him. I pretty sure you used all the wood.
Don't be so naive. The guy might have left his "phone number" (which could have been a burner number which you can get on many apps) in the hope that Joe actually called it from his cell phone, in which case the creeper would then have HIS number and could use it to pinpoint his exact location at any time, which a technologically savvy person could do through various means. Don't discount people's instincts. They could be much more tuned-in to what's really going on than you think.
Joe really love your videos man, but if I had been in your shoes, i wouldn't have been so upset at that. I'd think it's pretty neat. One leaves another comes. I know you worked hard on it and whatnot, but we share the world i guess.
Seemed harmless enough. I grew up in the Adirondacks NY and have spent 20+ years in Ocala National Forest FL. Not sure how it works in Canada but I’ve never had much privacy here in the States. My kids and I enjoy and will continue to enjoy your videos but we’ll be sure to stay out your way in woods. Gods speed Brother
Hey Joe my question is how to get out of debt and how you deal with it ruff times, could need some help with that one. Hope you have a great day greetings. -Jake
First get a job if you don't already have one. Put all the excess non essential money into your smallest debt and work your way up to the biggest. I am taking a debt/financial prep course in high school, there is a man named Dave Ramsey who has a talk show and radio program that talks about getting out of debt, check him out
Hi Joe, i like your chanel, i like the massage that you are sending to youngsters. I like to see how you manage in outdoors a knife whit hiflat gringing and secondary, because i think is more eficient and it will not brake in the battoning. I send friendship request on fb and i will send to you fhotos about that blade..
Joe. I usually use a series of half hitches when I am tying my stuff in the woods. I find they are sturdy, hold well, don't slip, and are easy to tie. I'd like to know what kind of knots you tie when you are out in the bush and why do you use them vs. any other type of knot.
Has there ever been a time where you were filming and everything didn't go to well and so you had to cancel this video and go back home? Can you also shout out to B H B productions
Justin Baldwin That's a good question. funny I am going to start a channel and have had to test runs. Lets just say I doubt I well ever upload the video. maybe down the road but not my first lol
I'm gonna hammer this one in because I'm a new subscriber and I have been running through all your videos for over a week now. I know this is an old video and you are probably over the heat from this, but if you happen to read this I'd just like to say that I hope you've become and stayed a little more humble. I saw some of your very first videos and I could imagine if you were this Mark person, this would be totally unnecessary. You made it seemed like shit on your lawn. He was a fellow adventurer and didn't deserve the sass I know you're better than that. Little disheartening to see you act this way but again this is the only video I've seen you act this way. I hope you've appreciated how far you've made it and continue to treat the rest of us your followers, admirers, and fellow travelers with courtesy.
+JoeRobinetBushcraft Was There a particular event or point in your life that made your respect for the wilderness Propel to the point it is today? a lot of people seem to lack the respect and discipline that you Have for the wild
Random Guy. Joe i was thinking of a question but seriously, Random Guy, i would have to say has asked the best question so far. and Honestly i think people would like to here the response..
Joe im very intrested to know whats your Profession ? im discuss whith my Friends what it could be??? We very like your Videos in Austria!!! Bushcraft for Life!!!!
Why are you so pissed about someone else using your campsite? I mean.. if I'm just out hiking and I find one, why not use it? I mean.. those woods are not your property, are they? So it's pretty much open to anyone. He even left you a note so you don't rage about stuff being changed there, and you still did xD (The tape on the tree was bs though, I'm with you on that one)
He barely reacted. I feel like his reaction to the tape was what I’d expect if he found a soda can on a trail. It’s just poor etiquette in the wilderness. I’d say the nay sayers are more sensitive to his reactions than he was to the visitors changes. Plus his LotR reference redeems him of any possible wrong doing. Past, present, and future.
Yes Joe you seem pretty pissed. No its your land. Yes make the camper should have made his own camp. But I don't think he was mischief I truly though he was helping you by making the table and rearranging the camp fire to suet his needs. Let face it he did leave you notes. By leaving you his phone I think he wants to be friends with you. Again its my opinion. You didn't want anyone to camp there maybe put up a sign saying stay away. Me I wouldn't mine if someone camps we're I set up. I been in Boy Scouts for years and we always tough the boys to leave the woods just the way you found it.
remain calm
JoeRobinetBushcraft hey joe what do you think is the best kind of shelter for rainy weekend camp outs
JoeRobinetBushcraft have you had any other pets??
JoeRobinetBushcraft yea
JoeRobinetBushcraft you go
I agree tho'
Why not just call the guy and talk to him about how you feel? Just publicly shaming him for thousands of ppl to see? That's not what i would call respect....
I am 61 years young and have backpacked and camped for alot of those years. Now I cannot. I'm on O2 24/7. But I get a real kick out of watching your adventures on my computer. Keep on rockin' it!
Mike are you from the Soo? (Small town where everyone knows everyone, your name seems familiar)
I would also like to know mikes story!
Idk ...lol . cheers
Have you considered doing a compilation video about Scout's love of sticks? That would be awesome!
Man…. Rewatching all the vids from back in the day and knowing that you’d have so many ups and downs you have shared since this is INSANE. And knowing that you are now over a million and a half subscribers blows my mind! Well deserved!
Scout is 100% certain you took him on a special vacation to toy island whereby you shower him with handmade chew toys.
Two years later I still miss scout like mad 😪 scooter you will always be in our hearts ❤️
I miss Scout too...
this is the first Canadian dude I've seen mad.
Excellent! Best comment in the whole lot!!
you'd be mad if trudea was your president, jesus what a moron lol
His parents didnt teach him the importance of sharing
dont mistake polite for nice
You guys are being very inconsiderate. This is Joe's camp and he hasn't experienced anyone else being at the camp he has built. He has never said that he was upset about it. This is where I am confused with your dumb ass comments
Joe, you are doing a GREAT service to unfortunate souls. The guy that changed what you have done, doesn't fully understand and adapted. People have their ways. If I were you, ide feel good about others finding such. It's a shelter after all... I'm a fiend on this channel! Keep it going!
"Scout what are you doing? This is wood homie"😂😂😂
But yeah, the trash and tape was weird haha
I would probably just leave a small cache of fire wood tinder and kindling in a safe place so it remains dry
it's a free country don't be such a fucking snowflake bitch, you don't own the forest.
Lesson number one: if you want to be a fan of Joe's and somehow find his spot and stay there...DON'T touch his rocks lol
Better yet if you were a fan of Joe’s now’s the time to leave, you can definitely tell from this video that he’s a sell out!
Daddy Big Boots 220 why would you say that?
Daddy Big Boots 220 a sell out?
No, neither do I have any question really!
North American tree identification book: www.amazon.com/Trees-North-America-Identification-Revised/dp/1582380929
US tree identification website: www.arborday.org/trees/whattree/
I have used neither of these.
Good knife, good axe, good backpack, warm clothes AND good boots. Dont even try going out without something good on your feet.
So basically everything? I think backpack, knife is not the priority, can get cheap ones for start.
Invest in the stock market, whats the worst that can happen?
from my personal experience, get a mora knife, dirt cheap and seriously well regarded, also a decent brand new tarp if you wish to do so the dd 3x3 is awesome and isnt too expensive, i have been out in heavy rain and cheap rain protection is a killer depending on where you live. You can get just about everything you will need from military surplus at a fraction of the cost of the same quality of other gear at high prices. An example of this would be a british army goretex bivvi, it costs roughly $30- 40 and is made of exactly the same material and build quality as bivvis around the $150-200 mark
Yes, We Have computer in Yugoslavia.
Thats how we Hunt Moose and Squirrel.

Joe,
Does the time you spend on bushcraft and UA-cam ever negatively impact your family time?
People who try should not be seen as bad ,just have no skills. Old school rule of thumb is replace what you use and leave some kind of thank you
Cheers
Hey Joe,
If you were to design a product for bushcraft/camping/hunting, what would it be, and how would you make it different or better than other products on the market? Or maybe you have something unique? Cheers from BC.
Watsonegger he has already designed a backpack. there are vids on his channel about it
Wow Attitude is everything,, NO Trespassing!!,, Keep OUT,, this is MY lean-to LOL,,, ( oh by the way, thanks for the standing dry wood you left,, but I pushed it into the snow anway)
Tom Jones yea the standing dry wood is a courtesy i guess. but o wouldnt have wasted it myself. i would have left it dry.
Just recently started watching your videos, keep up the great work! I'm learning a lot from them and you've inspired me to plan a solo camping trip for myself. What's the scariest or worst experience you've had while camping?
He mentioned this subject on a past video. I don't remember what vid but he says how there hasn't really been anything scary happen to him.
Did you ever find out who the Mark guy was, who rearranged your camp?
dought it he gave the stick with his information on it 2 his dog 2 chew on so I guess he never ment 2 get intouch with him dushbag
Does your dog ever think you're weird talking to yourself? Just kidding. Take care and be safe.
Plastic Apple or does scout ever demand his own channel to grow his own brand and followers? Jk. Like the vids.
those knives are too expensive, if they were under 100 id buy one in a heartbeat they look so amazing
Make your own knife from an old file.
Need a grinder.
Need wood fire, &
quenching can of oil.
Handles of hickory.
Simple straight 5" pointed blade.
Charles Michaels do you make your own knives?

Thanks for the answer! Would you remember around when was the video posted or the title? Thanks in advance
@ David Dilanchian .... I even put a link... is my answer invisible to you? (I actually want to know, no sarkasm here... :) )
DoIC342IDO I see 4 replies but only can see 3 of them... no links... my bad... not sure if it's like that for everyone or just me lol
....and should that have failed again ;) go to the channel playlists, choose "Get to know Joe" and click #4 "The one about Scout" :)
Anyone on here complaining about your attitude has probably never spent a night out in the bush once in their life or putting any effort into their own camp.
scout is so dang cute. He just can't help himself when it comes to sticks. It's so funny that he gets just as excited over every single one haha.
What has been the biggest struggle/setback you have faced in your life? What did you do to move forward? Sorry its kinda a double question.👍🏻 thanks for chance at this awesome giveaway!
Why didn't you bring a fine craft beer on this outing? Or did you but didn't share with us?
Joel Becker he shared it with mark
lol
He shared it with scout.
Hey Joe my question for ya is what age did you start taking your daughter on overnighters? I have a newborn and can't wait for her to get a little older to show her the wonders of the outdoors!
ditto . My little girl is 4 months and i am waiting for that time too.
does it mater what age you are? people used to live their whole life in the wild, from birth till death.
Guardian. Peer.
Demanding nothing, but to be close to the actions of "Sir Boss."
Such devotion, discipline, kindness
are rare in man, or man's best friend.
RIP scout.........

I miss Scout too!!
You should look for a camera around your camp. Might have put the tape there in camera view so he could get you on camera taking the tape off. Makes you stay in one place longer to get a good view. Just a guess.
Adam McMillan good thought.
probably markers to find his way back to the camp.
How would he power the camera he is like a hour away from a house
JLW 1808 there is things called batteries you know 😂😂
Lol it would be so funny if it is one of Joe's friends and yes your right.
I'm OCD (Obsessive Camping Disorder) !
what is your favourite tool ?
Fergus Hart your mom
Joe you should appreciate the fact that Mark didn't vandalism your camp and was nice enough to leave you that message to explain the changes at your campsite
Hey Joe, ex-yugoslav subscriber here writing on my potato. do you know Yugoslavia is no longer a country?
Ovi sjeverno-amerikanci su totalni debili.
fuck serbia
fuck it nice and slow
hahahaha Kosovo is ALBANIA
Dejan Vidaković Greetings from Tennessee, USA! Nice to see you
hey Joe, I love the videos! my question would be as a young guy in my early 20s, money's tight what with college and all. my question is what are some of the of gear investments that I should prioritize to get started? thanks again bud keep it up!
I can't tell you that but please don't ever use a premium knife like him, filleting wood in a freaking forest !!! xD
Brett H are you more interested in backpacking or bushcraft ?
why buy a premium knife if ya cant beat the hell out of it? might as well just stick to cheap knives then
why the fuck are you here than spooky?
Spooky McDoots Joe has never claimed to be anything special he just a normal guy who likes spending time in the outdoors, Joe works for what he has he's not some rich man buying whatever he wants he's just an average guy who saves up for nice things just like most people. It's completely unfair to criticize someone for buying an expensive knife when they worked so hard to get it, he probably has been thinking about this purchase for so long and was excited and wanted to share this with others I personally love Joes videos and yes once in awhile I learn something new from him.
Do you plan on teaching Emerald to become a bushcraft legend as well? Start a bushcraft dynasty maybe?
Joe, I've watched a lot (not all, I do have to work and sleep) of your videos, by far, best UA-camr I've come across. I look for new videos like I'm watching a TV series. I totally got your feeling on the Mark situation. You weren't even mad, I'd be railing if someone messed with my camp like that. Keep 'em coming, so inspiring and positive.
Where do you see "bushcrafting" going in the future? Do you see it as something that is benefitting from the technology available to us? Or is the technology and new tools really hurting the concept of bushcrafting?
Andrew Stark that's a great question food for thought..
Bro, perhaps it's time to find a new spot?
Seems like (back when Mark Walberg was) Marky Mark has messed with the vibes of this here place...
Then You could build a Joesooper Camp 😎
Do you ever plan traveling to other countries to do bushcraft stuff?
I ask because I think that would be really cool
I was thinking not USA but maybe europe or even south america
Iwalktheline in Poland there are some nice woods
I miss Scout but miss you more! Still watchin the old school vids. Thanks for these eh! 😊
Why is there tape wrapped round your boot? Do you plan on making any vids with other bushcrafters ?
What is the recipe for Bannock?
The tape is probably to not be mistaken by hunters as game. Lots of packs, rain attire or other gear will have some sort of bright orange marking for this purpose.
The tape stops snow from getting into the boots if they are loose
Joe, what dark magic have you committed to garner all the support that you get from your wife?
Paul Van Slyke I need that Info too
Paul Van Slyke as a women I feel it's his job. It would be income to support his family plus camping is awesome.
That's true now, but when he was a small channel it cost him lots of money, thats for sure, and she was seemingly always behind him!
Paul Van Slyke if you love someone you support them. He got stood one.
Answer: Become an alpha male that doesn't put up with shit, but is also kind, and supportive to his wife. She'll be good to you.
What is the longest time you spent out on a bushcraft outting? Solo and with company
Hey, Mark seems like a pretty cool guy.
It totally does bother you, body language makes that clear! I would be too, so weird!
connor nixon Lol, why? It's public land so bound to have someone show up at your campsite. I would use it
I get that, im not saying id be furious and wouldn't understand why or how someone would stubble upon it and use it im just saying it would bug me, in a territorial/sentimental sense! That's his shelter and his space that he's build, probably feels a little crappy, especially when they start doing weird shit like that guy did! I totally understand your point but that's not the angle i was coming from.
connor nixon Got you buddy! I wouldn't do all of that. Just sleep there and make a fire if needed.
Yeah me too! It almost feels like the guy intentially did weird stuff, god knows why? Just get that feeling.
'Intentionally weird stuff'? Don't be childish. Real life is not like the movies.
Gotta agree with some of the comments.
Master of domain, suggests it is actually a domain.
Unless there is a deed and the property is marked clearly, one cannot expect a campsite to remain as one left it.
I like you a hole lot but now I know to not touch your rocks. Never. Ever.
They can not handle change...pussys..
He’s Canadian...ha ha.
Just to let you know - Yugoslavia no longer exists.
Guess Ren and Stimpy no longer have a homeland...
Yeah, it does. It's just divided up a bit along ethnic lines. Yes, this is a joke.
Yugoslavia broke up in the 1991 civil war. after Tito's death.
Also, if you are on public property, your bushcraft camp isn't exactly "Leave No Trace." Just sayin'. But I am a sub and love your videos.
I believe it's private property that belongs to a local farmer.
Thanks for the info. The Mark dude should NOT be hanging out.
So now folks are saying you are on public land. Which is it? And in Canada, I guess you don't practice Leave No Trace?
If you've watched from the begginning of this build you would know full well it is built on Private property.
What age did you get into bushcrafting?
You should call that number, seems like a lonley guy.
Matti Vilmunen No mutta Vilmusen Matti, minäkin olen Matti!
the guy clearly knew who's "spot" it was, and you never know there are some weird people out there ;) stalker fan. Instead people should write to him, let's try and figure out something instead of just "creeping in". I might be wrong, i see it like that.
Matti Vilmunen at least enter him into the give away.. he needs it..
probably shouldnt have left string and tape and stuff around tho
What a bunch of bullshit... probably just like Joe...
He may like scout for scout and not the breed itself
Not only that, as Joe has mentioned in previous video's the German Shepherd breed and Large dogs in general have hip problems so maybe he doesn't want to put another dog in the situation of loving the woods but being to sore after a short period of time.?
Sorry guys. Honestly didn't want to come off in a bad tone. I honestly was just curious why the other breeds over what scout was
No reason to be sorry m8, =D
You're the kind of guy who would snowboard on a resort mountain, and then get mad when tourist showed up lol.
This ain't a "resort mountain" and tourists always leave money.
@@wulf67 fuck you
Ego is a very tricky thing. It is NOT your true self. And Joe, you definitely introduced me, as a viewer, to your ego. Aside from that, I still am into your videos and I will continue to enjoy them. Keep up the great content regardless!
Is Trailer Park Boys the coolest Canadian TV show ever,or what?
season 11 soon!
I prefer letterkenny
philfy23. The last few seasons kinda sucked in my opinion
Nah. Red Green show, eh.
philfy23 YESSSSS
You’re mark aren’t you!!!
I am taking a debt/financial prep course in high school, there is a man named Dave Ramsey who has a talk show and radio program that talks about getting out of debt, check him out
hey jake. the best way to ask a question is to end it with a question mark. -neon
ReidJH Thanks I will.
Josh that electrical tape looks like some sort of navigational arrow pointing to your spot in those woods. kinda creepy imo....
alexcajigasful his names not josh it's joe 😂
+ReKt Viperz the dogs name is Scout not Joe, but I think he was talking about the camera guy.
lol so pissed off
Darren Devine why
Joe, about the person being around his camp.
Of course. This Mark guy was most likely trespassing on private land. I'd be mad too if someone screwed around my camp.
Can you also shout out to

Good Question

- AKOB cheers mate I have been watching his Vids for along time and always wanted to know
Great question !!
When do you first start bush crafting?? Your video"s are addicting. Captivating, and motivating!!!
He even left you a note so you don't rage about stuff being changed there, and you still did xD (The tape on the tree was bs though, I'm with you on that one)
rearrange the rocks the way they should be....territorial much?......dude!....lol....seriously you gave me a chuckle
This sort of thing is to be expected out there, dude. It is what it is. You're never really alone.
I been in Boy Scouts for years and we always tough the boys to leave the woods just the way you found it.
that Action was not cool
somebody made himself so many work and let his number here
you sould call him and excuse him
This has got to be the prettiest knife you ever owned, Joe.
