I’m always so excited when I see a notification of your channel, I always wanted to go bushcrafting but I just don’t have the equipment. I live in the Netherlands and I think I’m gonna buy a buck bantam blw at black friday. I always liked fire, knives and the outdoors, my parents don’t think I need a knife so I made one out of wood to show how beautiful it is. My mom agrees now but my dad still doesn’t, I hope I can have knife. When I studied to become a vet, I’m going to emigrate to Sweden!! I also like Sweden at the age of 5 so I want to make my dreams come true. I have two brothers, one is allergic for animals, I love doges all when I even could think about dogs... my father is also allergic for animals and always says I need to get a dog when I live alone. Thats why I want to live in Sweden far from the Netherlands and far from all the dirty states. You may think why I wrote this, because I think of my future in Sweden inside you, you do and have what I also like to do or have.... If you read this thanks for reading.🙂🙂

Australia doesn't really start getting desert until a couple hundred kilometres in, its mostly what we call bushland which is moderate to heavy density of large trees and a fair bit of knee/waist ground bushes with a decent amount of rock. I'd say this applies to a good portion of the country, especially the bottom half. Up north especially far north it can vary more from rain forests to sparse and scrub land and Western Australia is a world to it self.

Hi Joe, another Aussie fan! I see a lot of comments regarding Australian bushcrafting experts and they are indeed experts! Its so hot and dry in a lot of the area's these great men film in (although still fairly wooded) that it takes a survival expert to thrive out here. Our Aboriginal peoples are like none other in the world when it comes to survival in harsh environments. Massive calling for you down here mate, would love to see you down under someday in the future! Cheers

i can assure you that Australia isn't just an outback type of country and has many different types of forests. It all depends on where you go in Australia to weather it is dry or mostly wet, for example if you're in Victoria, New South Wales or some areas of Queensland, you will have a more wet tropical climate, but if you are situated in Western Australia, South Australia or some parts of the Northern Territory, it will be very dry.
You should take a trip to Australia and try to conquer the hot harsh desert climates for a video. If you do decide to do this, make sure you do a lot of research on native plants and animals and bring a lot of water. Please do not restrict yourself to one big bottle of water because you will get dehydrated very quickly. Hopefully you read this and take this into consideration because it would make such a fantastic video and it always nice to try new things in life.

Joe, you would love the Gold Coast of Australia...fly into Melbourne and take one of the multi-wheel drive buses that take you into the nearby "green" forests...amazing terrain! My sister and I were able to see kangaroos, wallaby's, koala bears, crocs, from the safety of the bus. Don, our driver, is married to an aborigine. Her brother is a very experienced bush guide into the Outback. He offered to take us out but Sis and I already had our week planned out...damn. Big mistake but we had a great time. The Great Barrier Reef is of another world and there were some awesome camp sites on the barrier islands. Anyway, I loved this video, Joe, and after watching your "re-visit" to your shelter I was anxious to watch this one. I love salmon and that with the broccoli, lemon sprinkle and the beer...hell, you can keep your 5-star restaurants! What better place to eat than Joe's Shelter-in-the-Woods.

Australia has pretty much all terrain, from snow to rain forest to dessert to scrub. In South Australia, where I am it's the driest state on the driest continent on earth. We have one major river in our whole state. In the outback we get days that are 120F + and that same night it can be 20F. It's also a novelty watching you guys get your sleeping bags out early. We don't do that here. We wait until the last minute so we don't have snakes and spiders make a home in them. If you ever want to come here, you're welcome!

There are different kinds of Terrain about half of Australia is Dessert which is mostly in the middle... so if you're living around there then no, most of the states further away from the middle would have more rain forest types of areas and places like you go to, minus the snow

The types of trees in an Aussie (pronounced Ozzy) forest will vary somewhat depending on which part of the country you’re in. Some areas can be such dense vegetation that you wouldn’t attempt walking through it. 😃

The majority of Australia is desert. However the bulk of the population is in coastal cities where there is more rainfall. I'm due for the real great outdoors, I paroled in 2012 from a 15 year stint in the most fucked up prisons here in California the only thing I discharged with is a stay ready attitude and that law enforcement has a disregard for human rights(I sued the prison system and won). The L.A. County sheriff's department showed its true corrupt nature while I was pre-incarcerated for 2 years fighting my trumped up charges in their holding facility. But anyway MAHALO NUI (thanks) for the adventure and keeping it real. Aloha Duke the Hawaiian.

Very fun vid, looks like you had a blast! I do historic trekking so my equipment is a little more primitive. Yes just sticking your ax like that is silly and yes I do the same thing.
My food is more cr 1800 any thing on a fire in the woods is great... but broccoli ??? My god man what were you thinking???😂
