In your past vids, i noticed people complaining about you bringing a axe, and how you shouldnt take down trees. From what ive seen, they are always dead trees, and these people must not live in houses. I try to support you by watching the adds. Keep up the cool informative vids.
Steven Pruitt also why they bitching our government have people chop down and destroy wild life those damn hypocrites, also they cut down trees so we have fire logs no different what he's doing.
Hey Joe, I felt compelled to tell you how much I enjoy your videos, they are educational, inspirational, as well as very relaxing. I have been recovering from a terrible hit and run motorcycle accident that has kept me out of the woods for far too long. Your videos have been very instrumental in my recovery, as I get my fix of the outdoors through your videos. Please keep doing what you're doing, you touch lives in a positive way! This world needs more men of your generation like you! Great father, husband, dog owner, outdoorsman and although I don't know you personally I consider you a friend. Thanks again.
the "figure" at 2:00 isn't really a figure, it's a leaf hanging from a stick.. look at 1:55 and at 1:58 you will see that it is on his right and as he walks past it, the illusion of a man is shown
How could anyone ever not like one of these videos? This guy is conscientious and obviously kind with the best intentions. I am sure this has been said but it couldn't be said enough.
Dude, I've watched you're videos over the last 2 month over quarantine, and buddy, this is one of your best videos. No joke man. Reminds me of old Ray Mears videos. No drama, just informative and relaxing bushcraft. Keep up the great work Joe 🤜
I'm fourteen and ive always been wanting to camp like this, all natural. I used to play " survival" when i was really little. Now im hoping to go camping soon and school everyone because of your videos. :)
this dude has to be a gamer...even if he's not, he's my favorite bush craft/camping person so far. He's Canadian, he quoted games and TV and movies a lot, got tattoos and small plugs, all around awesome dude! I'm trying to find a good camping spot around Ottawa lol
Hey Joe, instead of carrying regular butter in a ziploc bag, if you go to your local breakfast restaurant they will probably gladly sell you some of the liquid butter prep which they use on their flat tops for cooking eggs and such. It tastes great, isn't nearly as messy and is really easy to carry in a small squeeze bottle in your pack and it doesn't require refrigeration!
Hello Joe! i watched the video for the creepy man on the back ground and i realized that it was actualy a weird leaf stuck to a skinny branch or a vine and i thout id share this info to u so you would not be a bit scared to camp there again. PS i like you`r videos and keep it up!
Great stuff Joe. Nothing like breakfast from your fire and just hanging out in the woods. You're a good teacher. Come to Arizona and I'll take you up in our woods here. Totally different.
About the dog bowl placement, it's not about getting things lodge in the throat it's about not putting unnecessary strain on the dogs joints, mainly the elbows. Love your videos.
Joe Robinet you have been such an inspiration for me all I did was play my Xbox... but now since I've been watching you I've been going out into the woods and trying to be like you. But what I'm trying to say is thank you. And say to scoot for me
Learning trees with Joe needs to be a real thing. I really don't like many youtubers but you're really cool, a guy I can relate to. You seem like me, also, what exact watch are you wearing in this video. I'm looking for a good watch?
Fun video Joe. I swear you go out just to make a fire. You seem to enjoy it so much. Nice to see Scout with you. He's a handsome boy! Keep up the great work.
Daniel Baker sassafras used to be used in root beer for flavour too. But sadly cola companies were so upset with root beer sales they pretty much got it banned.
wow !!! that's crazy. I didn't know that. I like the flavor but the fact that it thins your blood so much I only drink it once in a while just when I am doing an over night once a month. have you ever tasted it ?? the sasafras? stupid greedy cola companies.
That looks delicious. Maybe you could consider offering a 'Bushcraft and Breakfast' course. They'd come for the food (I know I would), and stay for the skills development.
1:57 After watching a few times, I see a bunch of leaves hanging down from a small branch, and it looks like it's moving because the camera is moving. I can see how someone would think it's a person at first.
The rocks you two encountered were scary looking, but the views were awesome. Keep teaching the newbies basic camp skills. You are growing your viewers this way. There, I put my nickel in.
It isn't a man running... just some leafs hanging down from a tree... I really tried to find the man what you talking about... but I think you see thoose leafs.. it first appear on right side, than Joes head covers it, and reappear on the left... and it's clearly visible that it's not even moving... and has human shape but it's closer to Joe rather than it could be a man running in the distance... (sorry for my bad english...)
I laughed at the MK reference when you cut into that bagel. "Flawless Victory". Thats a pretty sick grill you have there. I was also impressed with the Mason lid egg. That rocked, man. I might have to add a Mason lid to my kit. Great video as always Joe.
The whole "elevated bowl" thing comes from the fact that a lot of pure-bread dogs on the larger side (Irish wolfhounds, great danes, afgans) are at risk of getting bloat. You are right that wild dogs (wolves/ferals) would normally drink from the ground but then wild dogs haven't been subjected to selective breeding and are considerably less likely to carrying hereditary genetic defects. Flat faced breeds (pugs, bulldogs, king Charles spaniel) perhaps suffer most from this, poor things can't even breath properly.
You have inspired me to get back outdoors, my wife and I are going camping next week and I'm gonna make a tarp shelter! Thanks for the great videos and awesome content!
Hey man, Just want to say that I love Scout. What a great dog. He reminds me of my old dog, Huey, a German Shepherd mix. I used to take him camping all the time. He'd wander a bit, but always stayed in earshot and came when called right away. He'd even ride in my canoe, and was really good about not tipping it! Anyway, keep up with the videos, I'm really enjoying them!
Many people probably already said this, but I think what you should do instead of the cut out can egg containment thingy, is cut o big fat onion ring at home, and just cook the egg in it! Still get a round egg and you can eat the whole thing! Nice video as always Joe.
+JoeRobinetBushcraft oh no its okay! i just been hearing alot of wood scary stories lately so i was just wondering if you had any weird experiences :) but it's okay sorry
I enjoyed your outing, but I have noticed in past videos you have had to defend yourself because of a comment someone made about how you were treating your dog. While we want to care for our best friends (dogs) some people think you are to treat them as humans and forget they are animals that are naturally equipped to survive in the outdoors to different degrees even though they are domesticated.
Joe, pitch that jar lid and pack a sliced onion ring for the fried egg support. A green pepper section is a great option too. I enjoy the vids, keep it up.
Hubby and just enjoyed another one of your videos. Can't believe we sat there and watched you cook that whole breakfast but your pointers are so helpful. Poor Scout, he had his eye more on that sausage but eggwhites were just as appreciated. SO disappointed, no info on batoning that English muffin, LOL. Thanks again for all the lessons.
I have watched this multiple times and I can confirm it was a blurry leaf as Kambe Burut has already stated, you can see said leaf right before he passes it and as he turns you can see the lighting effect along with the unfocused background makes it look like someone. its neat but nothing to worry about.
You have the best, most concise and informative videos. Nothing spoken is wasted, so it sets you apart from other tubers. You deserve the views and subs. Good stuff
id say your right tim, looked a lot like a spiny backed hermit crab spider which is in the micrathena family. their bite is not deadly to humans but it will leave a nasty mark.
You and Doug make a great team more videos together please! Love the sunsets and the scenery but best of all the wolves (so did our dogs). The bush buddy is fantastic what a clever invention that is! We'd love to see you dehydrating your meals made by your lovely wife and preparing your trip food. Where can you buy Dougs Foot Fungus please Joe?
Don't know what its like in Canada? but in Australia the spiders can be deadly, not to mention all the snakes. Interesting looking spider you have though :D we also about a billion ants that bloody hurt if they bite you.
we re lucky mate, in north America we only have to worry about the black widow, brown recluse, and deer tic (Lyme disease) I live in Virginia and our snakes are the Tiber rattler(Steve Irwin, RIP caught some in my home county) copper head and water moccasin AKA cotton mouth.
rhys jolly wow your just complaining that where you live is terrible. He was not afraid of the spider 🕷 he just noticed it was there. Think about the good things where you live not the bad things. I always think thoughts like “I love the place I live there are so many nice people and the spiders keep the bugs away from my home and the world. Without spiders I wouldn’t be able to see at all because there would be too many bugs 🐜.”
Have you ever considered doing a little flint knapping while you're hanging out in the woods? It might be an interesting skill to learn or practice, and it'd give you something else to do!
Another great video. I started thinking of smoke signals the minute you up picked up the fry pan and started waving it around. puff, puff get gone bugs, puff, puff... lol My Australian Shepard always looks for scout when he cries for sticks, sometimes I don't hear it but she comes out of her bed looking at the TV for the sound. Keep up the good work, I always enjoy your outings.
Got the wife and both kids just chilling and watchjng all your vids on the tv , relaxing sunday afternoon love your stuff , just found you today so we have plenty to catch up on :)
Tip to Joe and everyone. My hands get beat up too. Cracked etc. Vinyl examination gloves Before bed, smear on your favourite stuff and put on gloves. Soak over nite. Helps healing...Also have my favourite. BAG BALM.. FOR COWS UDDERS. Farm stores have it. Heals up chapped skin quick.been around for milk cows for ever... .
Love it man. Looks a lot like the woodland I visit. The more I see you string up that hammock to hang out, the more I want to pick one up and bring with me. Might have to do that in the near future. My damn gear list just keeps growing and growing lol
Sassafrass is the root beer tree. The root bark smells so deliciously strong! It contains something called safrole, which is actually illegal to possess in pure form because it's the main precursor in MDMA synthesis. Sassafrass trees are super cool!
I've been watching Joe for about a week now and I've seen tons of winter trips and the first video I've seen of Joe in shorts!?!? T-shirt!? No beanie!?! Super weird haha but still gotta love the great outdoors! Keep it up Joe I'm hooked on all your videos
great video . love the tip with the egg . for those that like onions I have seen it done with onion sections . I have even seen someone make a grilled cheese and egg sandwich by putting a hole into one slice and cracking the egg into the hole .
Great video - I can't get out often so I feel like I am bushcrafting vicariously through videos like this. I appreciate the whole fire set up - most videos end at the knife work and then there is this amazing blaze. Thanks! Oh, and that Gasconade is a thing of wonder...
In your past vids, i noticed people complaining about you bringing a axe, and how you shouldnt take down trees. From what ive seen, they are always dead trees, and these people must not live in houses. I try to support you by watching the adds. Keep up the cool informative vids.
hahaha, common sense! no way.... ;) thanks buddy!
Steven Pruitt yeah I noticed he gets dead trees, they're just being dicks
Steven Pruitt also why they bitching our government have people chop down and destroy wild life those damn hypocrites, also they cut down trees so we have fire logs no different what he's doing.
Probably those kinda ppl that think there house is built from wood that doesn't come from trees...lol
in most of canada it is illegal to cut down a live tree on crown land.
Thanks again.
that is very nice of you to say, I'm glad the videos help in some small way :)
the "figure" at 2:00 isn't really a figure, it's a leaf hanging from a stick.. look at 1:55 and at 1:58 you will see that it is on his right and as he walks past it, the illusion of a man is shown
Such an odd natural illusion.
Mysterious UA-camr I know what you're saying and it's true but what a party pooper
I don't see anything
Mysterious UA-camr zz hi
lol I saw that and thought "no way that's what everyone is freaking out about". Booooo! Some of you guys have a wild imagination!
I read your comment and it struck a chord because I really liked Ray Mears videos too, he is awesome 😎😎
I'm fourteen and ive always been wanting to camp like this, all natural. I used to play " survival" when i was really little. Now im hoping to go camping soon and school everyone because of your videos. :)
That egg muffin sandwich looks so freaking good
Not sure if anyone commented already or not, but that was one HUGE egg! Great way to spend the morning, thanks for sharing bud
I like that you added a tree/plant identification tidbit, and I'd love to see more. Great vid! Thanks for making these. :)
Don’t see how you could ever get any negativity. You seem like a humble dude and you give off a lot of useful information. Love the vids!
loved the way scout came up behind you and laid down when you were on the ground. couldn't have planned that.
this dude has to be a gamer...even if he's not, he's my favorite bush craft/camping person so far. He's Canadian, he quoted games and TV and movies a lot, got tattoos and small plugs, all around awesome dude! I'm trying to find a good camping spot around Ottawa lol

JoeRobinetBushcraft hi
Hello Joe! i watched the video for the creepy man on the back ground and i realized that it was actualy a weird leaf stuck to a skinny branch or a vine and i thout id share this info to u so you would not be a bit scared to camp there again. PS i like you`r videos and keep it up!
BLAKE G ew fake butter? Hell na
+Morgan Mansfield... If you ever eat out in restaurants you eat it all the time! Just easier to pack and carry...
Great stuff Joe. Nothing like breakfast from your fire and just hanging out in the woods. You're a good teacher. Come to Arizona and I'll take you up in our woods here. Totally different.
Didn't know about that diamond finger trick. You learn something new every day.
I love ur camping alone with dog videos, they r just so peaceful to watch. I wish i can camp out during winter but too bad i hate being cold.
bushcraft camping with my dog is my favorite hobby, you have earned a subscriber
I love Scout, he's so good
scout has a personality all his own.
he sure does :)
About the dog bowl placement, it's not about getting things lodge in the throat it's about not putting unnecessary strain on the dogs joints, mainly the elbows.
Love your videos.
you're my favourite bushcraft channel, mostly because you are canadian like me and say portage properly. Your videos are fun to watch too :)
:)
Agreed, I keep wondering how he's supposed to say it? Fellow Canadian here.
Joe Robinet you have been such an inspiration for me all I did was play my Xbox... but now since I've been watching you I've been going out into the woods and trying to be like you. But what I'm trying to say is thank you. And say to scoot for me
BC Bushcraft C vg cvvvv cvv
Im guessing Port- Tayge is how us murcans say as opposed to pour-taj.
man, his bestfriend and the wild, so awesome. Love the videos Joe!
Learning trees with Joe needs to be a real thing. I really don't like many youtubers but you're really cool, a guy I can relate to. You seem like me, also, what exact watch are you wearing in this video. I'm looking for a good watch?
He wears a Casio Protrek PRG270-1.
Yeah. I'm actually interested in learning about the different types of trees. What's the best wood for the situation, etc.
Fun video Joe. I swear you go out just to make a fire. You seem to enjoy it so much. Nice to see Scout with you. He's a handsome boy! Keep up the great work.
You have just made me so hungry and now have to make egg on toast at 4 in the bloody morning
Yup, he made Pancakes in one of his newer vids and I had to stop and go make pancakes before I could finish the video.
Nathanial Parkes hahahha Yh it seems now I watch his videos I have to get loads of food together first
thanks Joe love what u do
We only use a raised bowl when they get old. Our 14 year old lab/husky really appreciates it. Otherwise ground/floor should be fine.
Awesome day in the woods. The sandwich looks delicious :)
Thanks for sharing - Martin
the diamond thing with the fingers is a neat trick, i've never seen it before., thanks for posting
Can you do a video just on tree identification?
yes please!!!!!
Scooter is an awesome dog. Perfect companion in the woods.
Ahh i remember that old lean to, its been a while for sure. Feels kind of sad for some reason to see it torn down.
Cool idea about the glass bottle lid and the egg! That's for education about trees!
Hey buddy my dad's property is covered in sasafras [
freaky!
Daniel Baker the leaves of the tree are dried and ground up, they call it file powder and use it for gumbo and other dishes to thicken it
Always a great morning when I can watch a new Joe video while having my morning coffee. Keep 'em coming Joe. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Gorbag
Joe could you do a video on all your bush gear like all your knives an your axe i am looking for a good bushcraft knife an would like some ideas
Looks like Scout got some nice royalties on this trip :) He is such a good pup!
11:42 "aww pith!" hahahahahaha I don't know why but that made me lose it
Hammocking in the woods is awesome. Suggest that everyone try it. Babam!
scooter is spoiled rotten lol German Shepherds are the best dogs hands down
rowdy165 that and newfies
I love German Shepherd but I prefer collies
Boarder
idk if thats true, i thought german shepards have alot of inbreeding problems and nearly all of them develope hip problems
Yay Scout! I always love seeing Scout in a video.
I really enjoy your videos where you bring your dog. Jealous because my dog is now pretty old.
Your videos make me happier then anything, I'm slowly acquiring the gear to do this. I CANT WAITTTTT.
Your dog is awesome reminds me of my dog
That looks delicious. Maybe you could consider offering a 'Bushcraft and Breakfast' course. They'd come for the food (I know I would), and stay for the skills development.
1:57 After watching a few times, I see a bunch of leaves hanging down from a small branch, and it looks like it's moving because the camera is moving. I can see how someone would think it's a person at first.
Awesome tip with the finger/pocket bellows. I haven't seen that one before, so I'll have to give it a shot next time I'm out.
Its nobody's business how or when you give YOUR dog food and water. He is very healthy and happy. Just saying...
Love all your videos. Keep up the good work.
The rocks you two encountered were scary looking, but the views were awesome. Keep teaching the newbies basic camp skills. You are growing your viewers this way. There, I put my nickel in.
the 'man' running in the woods is just the leafs you see at 1:57 to the right of your head.
lol should have looked for this before posting my own observation.
I saw the man in the woods
It isn't a man running... just some leafs hanging down from a tree... I really tried to find the man what you talking about... but I think you see thoose leafs.. it first appear on right side, than Joes head covers it, and reappear on the left... and it's clearly visible that it's not even moving... and has human shape but it's closer to Joe rather than it could be a man running in the distance... (sorry for my bad english...)
joe robinet, that was nice of you to let your dog play in that green water. you know what i always say, If it's green, it must be clean.
9:45 -- Scout is helping to collect firewood. This is some heavy training :D
Yeah hes saying hey shut up and build the fire already ... Humans...
I laughed at the MK reference when you cut into that bagel. "Flawless Victory". Thats a pretty sick grill you have there. I was also impressed with the Mason lid egg. That rocked, man. I might have to add a Mason lid to my kit. Great video as always Joe.
I subbed you at about 5,000. I still watch some of the old videos. Another great video Joe!
thanks, buddy!
Must be something about Joe's, see a tree and up we go! Thank You for sharing.
That juicy hamburger was better clickbait than hot women
Aspect you didn't watch for 3 minutes lol it's a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich
Aspect true
Aspect try again...
did any body see something walking like a man behind him wile he was talking about that casino
Aspect Because you said it was just clickbait, is there even a point in watching the video??? Goodbye I guess.
Great video. Lots of fun in the woods. That's how it should be, some work, food, and relaxing. Thanks Joe.
Hey mate, cheers for the content
Your muffin was sorely missing some dead horse though!
+Cameron Reid yeah. I was thinking sauce too. bbq for me.
Joe that figure you see is a leaf in a tree if you look at 1:58 on your right by your face watch it go be hide you and you can tell
hell naw
you are totally right the more and more I looked at the Leaf was floating right behind him good shit D bunk
Yeah it was the leaf cluster, but made a cool looking bigfoot shadow. lol
Yeah just a couple leaves hanging off a tree. If you put it in .25 speed it's a lot clearer.
Big Foot
Many people probably already said this, but I think what you should do instead of the cut out can egg containment thingy, is cut o big fat onion ring at home, and just cook the egg in it! Still get a round egg and you can eat the whole thing! Nice video as always Joe.
have you ever had a scary experience during any of your camping?
^
no, never...Its not interesting, but its the truth.
+JoeRobinetBushcraft oh no its okay! i just been hearing alot of wood scary stories lately so i was just wondering if you had any weird experiences :) but it's okay sorry
Weird seeing you back on the woods! As much as I've loved your canoe trips, I'm looking forward to your fall/winter trips. Great video as always.
the doggo was pleased with his egg scraps
Love watching old videos of scout.....
even if it was anything I'm sure Scout would have saw it 4 noticed it
Probably the happiest dog on the planet right there
lol they should get the dog a chair too, so it doesn't have to stand while it's drinking from the table
I've seen people use 4 tent pegs as a grill support. It seems to work really well and would fit in the bag with your grill. great video :-)
Come to Pennsylvania. We have too many rocks...
I have just started watching these videos over the last few days. Has become my favorite channel. Good stuff.
How do you safely transport eggs while bushcrafting?
You can do a few things, I wrap mine in a papaer towel, and put them in my cooking pot...but you can crack them into a water bottle too
Outstanding, thank you for the feedback! I'll have to try that next time i'm out. I'll have to shoot some video for you of some Cali woods. Cheers
JoeRobinetBushcraft I'm a new follower. I like your knife do you mind what type of knife you carry
He usually doesn't
Hubby and just enjoyed another one of your videos. Can't believe we sat there and watched you cook that whole breakfast but your pointers are so helpful. Poor Scout, he had his eye more on that sausage but eggwhites were just as appreciated. SO disappointed, no info on batoning that English muffin, LOL. Thanks again for all the lessons.
If you go to 2:00, just beyond his left ear you can see a human like figure walking from right to left. Thats quite odd.
ok, that is creepy...
lol it was a blurry leaf he just passed
I have watched this multiple times and I can confirm it was a blurry leaf as Kambe Burut has already stated, you can see said leaf right before he passes it and as he turns you can see the lighting effect along with the unfocused background makes it look like someone. its neat but nothing to worry about.
Just a leaf. You can see it before it's in the background.
You were being stocked by slender man
You have the best, most concise and informative videos. Nothing spoken is wasted, so it sets you apart from other tubers. You deserve the views and subs. Good stuff
micrathena spiders, harmless they say.
id say your right tim, looked a lot like a spiny backed hermit crab spider which is in the micrathena family. their bite is not deadly to humans but it will leave a nasty mark.
Spined Micrathena
shut up peter
John Sapno sorry
lololol

Both you guys are lucky, in the UK we have to worry about a deadly forest animal know as the Hedgehog. I lost a close friend to one
MaZEEZaM ik uh. Fuckin red backs

I really like how you added the little educational tips in this video Joe! Great job man
This was almost worth watching. After you cracked that yolk I had to unsubscribe and quit out. JK sweet video and awesome doggo!!!
Another great video Joe. What's not to like about all of your vids? Thanks for sharing your skills and adventures.Take care mate. Steve.
If you don't already, check out carlisle195, he makes some epic food when out 👍
Have you ever considered doing a little flint knapping while you're hanging out in the woods? It might be an interesting skill to learn or practice, and it'd give you something else to do!
I've tried, Its just not my thing.
i would pay you 20 $ for that burger ....
Another great video. I started thinking of smoke signals the minute you up picked up the fry pan and started waving it around. puff, puff get gone bugs, puff, puff... lol
My Australian Shepard always looks for scout when he cries for sticks, sometimes I don't hear it but she comes out of her bed looking at the TV for the sound.
Keep up the good work, I always enjoy your outings.

Love it man. Looks a lot like the woodland I visit. The more I see you string up that hammock to hang out, the more I want to pick one up and bring with me. Might have to do that in the near future. My damn gear list just keeps growing and growing lol

Great fun video , Joe . Good job on editing too. Having fun in the woods for a day outing with Joe and Scout . Keep them coming .
I've been watching Joe for about a week now and I've seen tons of winter trips and the first video I've seen of Joe in shorts!?!? T-shirt!? No beanie!?! Super weird haha but still gotta love the great outdoors! Keep it up Joe I'm hooked on all your videos
One of my favorite vids. Making a fire, cooking and eating.
great video . love the tip with the egg . for those that like onions I have seen it done with onion sections .
