I loved Angela Landsbury as Author/Sleuth, Jessica Fletcher, always out whitting, the police chiefs and pompous detectives, who were constantly trying to send her packing, except for the Sherriff of Cabot Cove, played by John Bosley, as her friend. Over the years I watched this amazing woman continue to value her privacy and still be detached enough from her family life to not live in the spotlight where "trash" could touch her. Her movie, TV and Broadway successes made her a star but it was the commitment she devoted to her family and her private life which needs to serve famous people of today. We have forgotten, with the advent of social media, how important it is to value privacy. Everyone need not know what everyone else is doing. Out of all of Angela Lansbury's acheivements, I think her involvement in films that targeted children is her best works: Bednobs & Broomsticks (with David Tomlinson), Mrs. Santa Claus (with Micheal Jeter, Terrance Mann & Lynsey Bartilson), Anasatasia (with Bernadette Peters) & Beauty & the Beast -animated are amongst her best. In Broadway - Mame & Sweeney Todd showcased her immense talent of both dance and acting. Her beloved "Murder she wrote" with Tom Bosley became as iconic as the Andy Griffiths Show. She lent her talents to many Disney films and her collaboration with the Kennedy Center honorees gave her the recognition she deserved. Out of the many actors and people I have watched over the years, she has always been one of my favorite people because of the values and morals she upheld for not only herself, but her family. She will be greatly missed.

I got to see her on Broadway in "Sweeney Todd." Even more remarkable was that I got in with a discounted ticket!
There are times when you know you're watching something special, and that production was one of them. The next night she won the Best Actress Tony Award for her performance. She *earned* it.

Angela Lansbury was a true star she was so down to earth in her roles and she was talented in ways no other could replicate. She was one in a billion. she was talented corny funny and serious and she was stunningly beautiful to boot. Angela Lansbury is one of those stars that was so versatile in her roles that she could play anyone to a tee. My Grand Daughter is 11 years old and every time she comes to stay with us during holidays is can we watch Murder she wrote please of course we let her, she has become quite the sleuth on her own watching the series. She knows talent when she sees it. I also loved to watch Jessica Fletcher helping out stubborn police detectives that cant see the nose on their own faces let alone solve the crime. Angela Lansbury left us a legacy of roles to re watch over and over again. So Thank You Dame Angela Lansbury for your talent your beauty and your zest for every part you played on screen and in theatres, for your characters you played and for the fun you put into each character. Jessica Fletcher will be watched in our house for years to come. Thank you so much dear lady for everything. May God bless you now you are home in Gods house.

I met Angela Lansbury at Cork airport Ireland as my friend and I were returning our hire car. She was driving a car in front of us and got into a bit of a pickle trying to park. Much to our amusement she realised we were waiting for and began laughing at herself while showing ‘the go hang herself’ gesture to us which was very funny. On checking in we found ourselves behind her in the queue and had a brief but lovely conversation. She told us she was returning after staying at her holiday home in Ballycotton and how much she loved Ireland. I was struck at how down to earth and friendly she was but she also had a certain presence and grace. I can still see her sitting alone at a table as she ordered coffee. One classy lady I can tell you…they don’t make them like that anymore.

She does a superb job playing the eldest daughter Edwina or "Dwina" in "National Velvet" where she acted alongside Elizabeth Taylor who was just twelve years old when they began filming in 1945. Until her death, she was the last surving member of that stellar cast which included Donald Crisp and Eliza Lancaster. I also think that she was brilliant in "The Manchurian Candidate". Angela Landsbury was in my opinion, a very underrated actress and way too smart for "Tinsel Town".
