- He helped build a television empire. Made up half the formula of the sitcom genre. Lived the American Dream and nearly tore it all down for himself in the end. No public figure is full of so many contradictions quite like Desi Arnaz, once husband to the legendary Lucille Ball.

Favorite Lucy Episode? 🤔
Where to start!
I watched I Love Lucy. As an adult, I didn't support her. When I learned what kind of gem she was!
Vitameatavegamin!
Fave episode? The Charm School - 3rd season. Natalie Schafer transforms Lucy and Ethel.
Vitameata
They were a gorgeous couple. Lucy’s reruns never get old.
She was one of the first woman comics who successfully performed physical comedy. I love watching all the shows.
I used to watch I love Lucy all the time when I was younger.
R
Ricky you have some explaning t👀 "*Do*" 🙀
I remember watching l love lucy growing up...always funny, always entertained!❤
There will never be another Desi and Lucy. It was my favorite comedy show that i still love watching to this day.
Consider this, The "I Love Lucy" was so popular that the US Presidential election was over-shadowed by "I Love Lucy Show." This I learned by reading in some magazine. That how "super popular" it was. What I do admire about Desi and Lucy is they had picnics year after year for those that worked for them. How wonderful Desi was. Whether you can believe it or not - Lucy was a lot more reclusive than Desi which made their marriage tough too besides his cheating and drinking. There were no compromise and why things didn't work towards the end of their marriage. However, Desi and Lucy made sure they stayed together for their children until it became unbearable. They never stopped loving each other. Oh, Luci, their daughter admitted that Lucy was a control freak which can throw off their partner if she/or he were that aggressive in life.
Never
Me too.

I was born in 80. I used to catch many old sitcoms as a kid. ILL, Gilligan’s Island, Andy Griffith Show, Beverly Hillbillies, Munsters & Addams Family. I Love Lucy is my #1.
I cried at the end. Just because you divorce someone does not mean you must hate each other to the grave. ❤
Truth. My parents divorced when I was 11 however when my mom died, my dad lost a good friend. They forgave each other and loved one another.
You're so right. There are many "happy divorces" where people stay friends and still love each other in a way.
There will only be one Lucy and one Desi...they can never be replaced❤
AMEN!!!!
Exactly
I think it’s sad that Desi’s achievements and talents as a musician are often overlooked. I still love his “Cuban Pete.”
One of the highlights of their shows was Desi's singing
“I get ideas” I loved him singing that one to Lucy.
I don't think he believed in himself or he wouldn't have sabotage himself as he did. Lucy, came from an American Culture so it is difficult to merge two culture together despite their innate talent which Desi had to maintain his family with Lucy and with his parents. This is common why he worked so hard so he and his family would not be put back in the bad situation where he had to flee Cuba to survive and why he came to the USA.
@homegown1234 It was difficult for Desi to go from a well-off family to being poor. Glad he and his family escaped to the US and built his own empire.
@@marieniggenaber2605I always think of a video special I saw .he & Lucy were with ed Sullivan .desi got very emotional ( as anyone would ) talking about what he overcame in Cuba what he and Lucy built . He & Lucy were true icons .
Yup! I watched the I Love Lucy reruns… I was born in ‘62. The episode that I always remember is when Lucy & Ethel go to work at a candy factory & their job is to wrap the chocolates that are coming down the conveyor belt. At first they manage, but the conveyor belt is sped up & soon Lucy is shoving her mouth full of chocolates & shoving them down her dress. She really was the Queen of Comedy!
I too enjoyed all the episodes but especially the candy conveyor belt at See’s canday. 😂
I remember th one,.. Are in Italy, & Lucy thinks is offered a part in a film,.. She ends up getting into vat , stomping grapes, with non speaking Italian woman, their exchange is hilarious.
Also doing a commercial for a. Vitamin bottle, must had alcohol, & gets drunk
My favorite episode was the Vitametivegimin. Don't know if it's spelled correctly but it was hilarious!
I remember that episode 😊👍
I was born in 1960, and that is my favorite episode too!
Ricky and Lucy will always remain in our memories. They both created something as big as an important historical event. I miss them both and their friends, Ethel and Fred.
The episode of when Lucy announced she was pregnant because that to me they really really did look like they loved each other
A truly terrific video. U can feel they loved each other to the end!👍
@@ladycoqui100I agree You can see the love through Lucy's tears
I agree ❤❤
Lucy and Desi. Lucy and Ricky were fake names for a show
About twenty years ago I fell into a deep depression due to an auto accident that caused severe bodily injury. My mom turned on “I love Lucy” and I could not stop laughing. Mom bought the entire collection and I would watch them. Needless to say, I got out of my depression and to this day when I feel down, I watch a few episodes. Such a shame they both suffered in their personal lives all while being soulmates.
it's like 'readers digest'...laughing is the best of medicine..i wish you...laughter!!
Great Mom ❤️❤️❤️
@@donnadayle3762 to each there own 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They didn’t suffer in their own lives as much as they were just normal ppl, like the rest of us. No facade.
That’s wonderful that you found something to make you laugh and ease your depression !
I grew up watching "I love Lucy". My favorite episode is the one where Lucy announced to Ricky at the club, that they were having a blessed event. (because they weren't allowed to say "pregnant " ) at the time. It was a very loving and heartfelt episode that I will always remember. I STILL love Lucy! ❤️
How about the one, "Lucy and Ethel were on the assembly line, packeging, "Lucy was getting so far behind, "she starting picking them up as best she could, "eating them, "ha ha, ha,"ah!, ha.ha!!
Yea they was a good episode. My baby is having a baby or something like that
As a kid I loved the Superman Episode because I just loved watching Superman reruns on the old Channel 4 in Indiana.
I still laugh when I think of them having to have separate beds on the show even though they were really married
Actually, " more precise, "I believe that would have been the conveyer (belt) instead of assembly line, "hah, ha ha! "Ya'll be good.
I love the episode with Lucy and Ethel working in a chocolate factory assembly line. So funny, and them stomping grapes 🍇.
That episode is Called Job switching
Desi was a genius. He never rehearsed those shows. He would read the script once and know everyone's lines....not just his. He learned English as an adult. Bandleader. Sitcom producer. Invented modern camera work. He kept the negatives! Bought the movie studio that had once fired him. Lucy gets a lot of credit but Desi was the true genius.
Thanks for sharing. I never knew this.
Except for the fact that Desi was unfaithful throughout their marriage which is so sad to me. That's not love. I remember Lucy's words when she finally divorced him, she said "I just couldn't take it anymore." That being said, I Live Lucy is still my favorite show❤❤
Love not live
More like they both were in their own right.
From what I understand when my sister went to a Pop Culture Museum for SciFi, fantasy, etc. culture, Lucille Ball is the reason we have to thank for being a sort of advocate of the genre in media.
Originally when the pitch was made for Star Trek, most of the CEOs of the studio scoffed at the idea of such a show surviving in the world of television.
But Lucy got behind the team, and believed they should allow it to be made into a show. And from that intuition of putting faith in a new generation of entertainment allowed many others to follow.
Among the many icons of television (both on and off camera) Lucy and Desi were one of a kind pioneers who pushed both themselves and helped to push others forward against the odds.
I had the biggest crush on Desi. I stood in line in Lansing to have him sign my book and when I was next, they broke for lunch. I was holding my 1 yr old son on my hip (and walked a couple miles there). I was teary eyed and they told me to come to his next venue that day. I did and they came and brought me to the front. Desi picked up my son and held him, called him partner and was so kind. I was in heaven ❤
He was handsome
When Lucy died, her husband at the time was Gary Morton. He told a friend “I guess she's (Lucy)happy now; she's with Desi.” They were soulmates through good and bad.
I do not think they ever stopped loving one another. I think it was a very painful relationship in later years. I Love Lucy was a tremendous success for many reasons---the scripts were excellent, and the cast, most notably Lucy, were very talented and had good chemistry with one another on-screen. You could see that Lucy and Ricky truly loved one another because real life Lucy and Desi truly loved one another, and it shone through in their characters on-screen. That real life love helped make the series special, too. I can never understand why Desi kept doing the things he did, though. If you love someone, what is it in you that allows you to continuously hurt them? I think it has to do with men's egos, especially Latin men. Sleeping around is part and parcel of their culture, and it is expected in his culture---not so much in the U.S., but plenty of men everywhere do it. Desi's life was a mixed bag, but he ended up a huge success with Lucy. They made a lot of money and had two beautiful children. Why that did not constitute the world for him, I cannot say. He was supposedly an alcoholic, so I am sure that had something to do with it. It is just so sad that he threw away his wife and kids.
In any case, Lucy and Desi and everyone connected with the show left the world a priceless legacy. I love Lucy and always will. I Love Lucy was a very happy and bright spot in my days during a time in history of terrible suffering---thinking especially here of Vietnam. Every afternoon I savoured one hour of telly that let me escape the real world outside and made me laugh out loud and feel spooky suspense respectively---I Love Lucy and Dark Shadows. I watched a lot of telly in those days, and I really enjoyed so many programmes, but I Love Lucy and Dark Shadows were the highlight of the day each week.
I feel so very sad because I think Lucy died feeling lonely and sad. She worked so hard to make a marriage and a career with Desi work, but it takes two to make it work, and Desi somehow was not committed enough. How ironic that two people who brought so much laughter and love to the entire world struggled to keep it alive in their personal lives.
I grew up watching i Lucy. And i believe they botjh loved each other
I watched and heard Lucy abt Gary. No question that she absolutely loved Gary. Two men...why not!
Gary was real good to her.
Can you imagine being with somebody that you know doesn’t really love you, but just didn’t want to be alone that’s even sadder
Loved that show!! I was 10 yrs.old & understood how funny Lucy & Desi were together!! R.I.P. both Lucy & Desi!!😢🙏😔🙏💕
When I was 10, I thought pro wrestling was real. But Lucille Ball still gave me the creeps.
I was but a gleam in my parents eye at that time😂❤

@@farleyfuche4540 I was also 10 when it started. I never thought wrestling was real. My stepdad loved it, I asked him one time about it being fake. He said "I know". He was into Marshal Arts so I was surprised he liked the fake wrestling.
I met Lucy in a restaurant in NYC years ago. She was old and had a problem walking. She was such a great comedian and I loved her shows.
My favorite episode was when Lucy was ready to go to the hospital to give birth and said so, Desi, Ethel and Fred ran around doing everything totally opposite of what they had practiced!! Their comedy was so much fun!!!
Yes, outrageous, but real.

Desi Arnaz was a genius in the entertainment world. He brought the Cuban/Latin sound to the USA. If anyone deserves a film biography, it's this man, but he was really larger than life. No one could fill in for him.
Antonio Banderas?
Desi was also a genius of production and singled handedly changed the filming of sitcoms produced before a live audience to this day when he invented the three camera filming method and cut production time from four days into one. Prior to using three cameras each angle needed to be filmed separately and each scene needed to be recorded for each angle.
Desi was A Genius 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
He's one of my personal heroes. The way he thought was endlessly creative. HE was the force behind I LOVE LUCY. Great as Lucille Ball was, DESI was the one who made it happen.

Desilu studios were very pioneering, and Lucy actually saved Star Trek from being dropped
Excellent point. Both "Star Trek" & "Mission Impossible" went into production b/c Lucille Ball, Desilu Studios CEO, believed enough in them & gave each the go - ahead.
They were both good people who made mistakes just like all of us. Love them both for all the joy they brought to us💗

I was born in Santiago de Cuba. Desi Arnaz lived across the street from us. He and his immediate family were pillars in the Cuban community. He was an only child. His father was Mayor of that town. My Mother was great friends with his cousin. I have good memories of Desi Arnaz.

There's just no way to narrow it down to one. I love pretty much all of them. Desi and Lucy were born to be with eachother and made millions smile decade after decade.
Exactly! My mom and I spent countless hours laughing over "I 💓LUCY" episodes (no matter how many times we watched them).
I particularly loved watching the episodes that featured Lucy & Ethel, like the episode when they came out on stage to perform "Friendship" wearing the same dress and ended up trying to ruin each other's dress while performing the song, hahaha!
Vivian Vance was the best co star! I 💓LUCY!
The "I Love Lucy Show" made my childhood more tolerable than it should be.
Indeed !
Was raised watching Lucy and Desi, Grrst memories!
The Episode where Desi Sings to Lucy "We're having a baby" tears me up everytime. 😭🥰
When I was a little girl Monday night I Love Lucy was the highlight of the week! Our family would laugh with tears at their unbelievable humor!! The chocolate factory was one of my favorites. They were ALL my favorites, really. So sad when they divorced. I watch a rerun when I get a chance! I will always love Lucy, Desi, Fred, & Ethyl! I'm 78 & still remember the fun it was - like yesterday!! ❤
Saw an interview of Lucille stating she spoke on the phone to Desi b4 he died; repeating to him " I love you, over & over"❤😢
I grew up watching their show and I now have the entire collection of I Love Lucy on dvd. It’s a beautiful classic never gets old.
Me too. DVD AND iTunes.😊
I watch it every night to go to sleep
I also have all of the shows. NEVER get tired of them! I also watch them when on my treadmill. It puts some zing in my workout! I will always love Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred! The Long, Long Trailer is my favorite comedy starring Lucy and Desi!
I also have all the DVD s. They r soo good. They were both great actors. RIP both of u!!!
Don't forget the movie The long trailer.
When I see them, I get homesick for my childhood. I was addicted to I Love Lucy Shirley Temple and the Andy Griffith show.♥️
Yes there are no sitcoms like the ones of those days. They are all garbage now compared to those oldies.
When I was a kid the best part of staying home from school and pretending I was sick was watching I love Lucy which I believe came on at nine in the morning. It made life seem better just to watch Lucy and her shenanigans. I loved how she interacted with Ethel Mertz her neighbor and watching how the two of them got into so much trouble. One of my favorite episodes is when they were in Paris and they created their own fashion statement with, I believe, upside down waste baskets as hats. And then on the same boulevard a few weeks later those fashions were copied by a Parisian designer! Every time I hear the theme music I’m instantly back in bed in my little room smiling away and hoping I don’t have to go back to school the next day!
I think originally the show was on Monday nights at 9PM. My mom gave me permission to stay up and watch Lucy go into the hospital.

I loved Lucy and Desi, but Fred and Ethel always made me laugh the most.
And actors playing Ethel and Fred HATED each other
@@jamba622Really?
I agree. Fred and Ethel were my favorites. Then Ricky. Not Lucy as much.
Funny, the actors that played Fred and Ethel could not stand each other.
@@jamba622 I honestly think that the "mutual hatred," or "could not stand each other," ideas, between the television couple (William Frawley/Vivian Vance) have taken on of life of its own in the many decades since "I Love Lucy" ended. They disliked each other and were never photographed dancing together at the "Brown Derby" (on their days off). And so what? The fact that these two brilliant actors were able to generate such great chemistry between themselves gives tremendous credit to their acting abilities. Fred and Ethel were brilliant together.
I love Lucy is by far the best comedy ever. No one can ever come close to her and the cast. I still watch the reruns today and still laugh like the first time I saw each episode.
They are timeless, which u can't say that bout all shows
Dick Van Dyke was better!
gary...i do too! the other is 'the 'three stooges!' i made a rule that i can't watch them from bed because
The Carol Burnet show , Carol Burnet , Tim Conway , Lyle Wagner , Vicki Lawrence were hilarious together .
I remember 'Here's Lucy' with her and her children, but surely her greatest legacy was as head of Desilu Studios, backing a man named Gene Roddenberry and his pet project when no one else would.
Almost 60 years later, Star Trek is still going strong, but without Lucille Ball, it would have died
On Monday evenings we drove to my mother’s best friend’s home, about 20 miles away, to watch each new episode of “I Love Lucy”! It was the highlight of our lives for several seasons!
My parents loved this… they were Spanish but understood it all… the more they laughed the more us kids loved the show…!!! We still watch it to remember the good times!!!
RIP MOM N DAD❤❤❤
One of my favorites is "Paris at Last" when Lucy is arrested for passing counterfeit bills. Lucy tries to explain by speaking English to Ricky, who speaks Spanish to the drunk, who translates into German for the policeman, who translates into French for the police captain. They go back-and-forth doing this several times.
I also especially like the closing scene of “California Here We Come,” with the Ricardos and Mertzes singing “California, Here I Come" in the convertible.
In Paris, my favorite is when Ricky and Fred tricked Lucy and Ethel into wearing burlap and horses' feedbags, thinking they were the latest Paris fashion. I laugh hysterically just thinking about it.
I love that one, everyone was on point in that translation line ❤️
Lucy pretended to be French and not know Fred and Ethel, saying to the waiter “les Americans, heh (dismissive wave).”
Desi was the architect of how TV shows were filmed with multiple cameras. He was a pioneer.
I am in my mid 60s and this is the first time in my life I have ever heard of Lucy and Desi referred to as an interracial couple. No one in my parent's generation that I ever heard from ever said a negative word about their relationship.
I don't know how they came up with interracial couple when they were both of the same race. They had different ethnicities but that has nothing to do with race.
Desi was Hispanic, lucy was white. 2 different races
Grew up on "I Love Lucy".
"Having your baby", factory line with Ethel, the vitamin drink that got her drunk on tv, & she & Ethel walking on grapes making wine had to be my top favorites.
Of course when both couples were on vacation together and the train made them shake and vibrate across the floor every time it passed was hilarious! 😄♥👏
RIP Ricky & Lucy, you are loved and always will be missed. ♥🕯
I see Lucy and Desi together and it makes me smile and feel sad at the same time. Knowing the end of the story, it’s hard to look back at it sometimes without a little sadness.

I’m a 80s kid and even I grew up on Lucy reruns. TNT and TBS used to air all the old classics in the mornings and afternoons in those years. Brady Bunch, Gun Smoke, Bonanza, Gilligan’s Island, I Love Lucy, ect. And I’m glad to see these digital sub channels doing it now. All those shows are timeless.
I watched the show as a kid. Those were the good days. Pure and simple.
I grew up watching I Love Lucy. What a great show. It never accrued to me, then, that it was a mixed marriage. Every one who loves Star Trek owes a debt of gratitude to Desi & Lucy. Star Trek (TOS) was a Desilu production.
"@tombrickhouse-growthmatrix6201" Back when I watched not-only did it NOT occur to me that it was an interracial and inter-cultural marriage but it did not occur to me that Desi had an accent.

I met Desi at a book signing. He was friendly but a little intoxicated. He will always be a tv icon.
My parents were new immigrants in Canada back in late 1955 from Europe and spoke very little English. In 1961 they were able to afford their first TV in their newly built modest home that cost them $17,000. I loved the episode with William Holden. When Lucy was disguised in front of Holden, Desi's reactions were priceless. I laughed and admired his talent very much when I saw that.

I always loved it when Desi (Ricky) got so overwhelmed he started talking in Spanish, especially because his eyes looked so crazy!
Neither of them will ever truly die as long as "I Love Lucy" is still shown on t.v. It's so classic, well executed, and funny, and the humor and perfection of the two of them as Lucy and Ricky will never fade.

This is one of your best videos. I Love Lucy is by far my favorite TV show, I still watch it today. I've lost track of how many times I've seen the reruns over the years, and each viewing is as fresh and wonderful as the first time I saw it. They never get old. As you said, the show pioneered so many innovations. The cinematographer, Karl Freund, came from the film industry. It was Desi who wanted the show to be recorded on film as opposed to grainy kinescope, which was the standard for live TV during the 50's. Jackie Gleason was another bright innovator during that time. He also insisted that his show (The Honeymooners) was recorded on film for later broadcast. Back to I Love Lucy: the writing was amazingly clever for the time as well. Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll Jr were far ahead of their time. When they wrote Lucy's real life pregnancy into the show, it was another first. This was during the time even the word "pregnant' was disallowed on national TV. I could go on and on about this show because I love it so. I also suggest for I Love Lucy lovers to check out the Amy Pohler directed documentary "Lucy and Desi". It's available to watch on Amazon Prime. It's really, really good and so informative and touching. Thanks so much for your accurate research and a super great video that shined an honest light on Desi Arnaz.
I grew up with “I Love Lucy:” we were born the same year! I would come home from school and watch afternoon re-runs of the show! There were so many excellent episodes, but my favorite has to be the Vita-meata-vegemin episode - I still laugh just as hard. Lucy truly was a comedy genius and Desi was her perfect foyle! Their talent is timeless. 💖
I loved those scant few times when Lucy actually DID get into Ricky's club. It really wasn't that there was no place for her there, but oh the comedic turmoil it caused when she did. I think those parts emphasized just what sort of underlying issues they had as a couple, but it still showed how immensely, deeply, passionately, and hopelessly in love they were with each other, no matter what. Carol Channing's quote hit it spot-on. In all honesty, the divorce and remarriages were superficial, as they had both found their soul mates in each other. Life just got in the way.
As a child of about 5, it always bothered me how much Lucy wanted to sing in the club, and how Desi did all he could to prevent. I remember that my mother couldn't explain it to my satisfaction. It was my first clue to the p atriarchy.
That show…the theme music…their voices…are all echos of my childhood. I can see it or even hear it and it immediately takes me back to a simpler time and a feeling of peace and security. They set the mold and nothing has ever come close since.
I grew up watching Lucy and Desi, it was a great show I also liked the neighbors Fred and Ethel. It is hard to pick just one episode. The smashing of the grapes and Lucy doing the commercial with the cough syrup come to mind 😂
I grew up in Caracas Venezuela watching I love Lucy. My favorite episode was when they went camping and Lucy collected rocks at every stop they made!! Hillarious!!!
I remember as a kid finding out that they were not together even though it had happened years before, I was so grieved! I love all of their shows. I especially loved when Lucy tells Desi that they were expecting a baby. Precious
The I Love Lucy channel is on my tv almost all the time. I never get tired of it. When I watched the movie Being the Ricardos, it gave me even more appreciation of how ingenious Desi was by being the firsr show to bring in a live audiance, using multiple cameras so as not to block the audience's view, and most impressively, creating their own production company. They were ahead of their time as well as timeless
They both ere a compliment and their show went beyond everything.! The legendary Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz..
Yes, I love Lucy. When I can find the reruns I do watch them. I never tire of this show.
I'm glad there was nothing really bad about him revealed. None of us are perfect and we all have our problems. He seemed like a really great person overall, despite his flaws. Same with Lucy.
He had many affairs!
@stardustgirl2904 Also abused her from what I heard in other documentaries. There were even bruises on her arm in the episode that she was learning ballet. So sad, but they definitely loved each other.
I think it’s sad that people still judge men much less for cheating… it’s not right. It’s wrong/hurtful. Would people give Lucy the same pass for cheating with dozens and prostitutes? I’m just saying it’s a MAJOR lack of good character to cheat.
@@stardustgirl2904 of Coors he did - most men do - it’s just that we want to Share our Genes & Multiply in the World 🤔
@@juneelle370 🤔🤔🤔 who knows
I loved the show and so sad knowing the ongoing turmoil she encountered jn her marriage before divorcing Ricky. It's good to know that during his final days, he and Lucy were able to let the past be the past and forgiveness was there.
It’s Desi, not ricky

No problem
I have a lot of time on my hands
@@elainelewis5803 Yes we know!
I'm sure Lucy was aware of his eye for the ladies before she met & married him! Guess they were better at the business venture than the marriage. Sometimes it be that way in the entertainment field. But at least they seemed to at least have that eternal bond..
Absolutely beautiful entry. We all love Lucy & Desi. Fave episode was when Desi sang I Love Lucy. Despite everything, they were soulmates.
I loved growing up watching “I love Lucy”. I never missed an episode!
My favorite show was when she went against that grape stomping lady. That show made me laugh sooo much!
Lucy and Desi had a beautiful relationship with each other on a wonderful level. The love and admiration shines thru in everything they done together. To hear of Desi's last words to Lucy were heartbreaking. May both rest in peace and find each other in Eternity.
According to written inspiration, all will rest until the first resurrection, or the second resurrection one-thousand years later. Which one do you want to be a part of? Still enjoying the God-given power of choice while I'm sucking air. 🐧🫐🍞
My favorite 2 episodes. Making the wine 🍷, by stomping the 🍇. When Lucy and Viv was working in the candy factory. Lucy was the best female comic actor ever. RIP LUCY & RICKY ♥
Desi Arnaz and Lucille (Ball) Arnaz were true pioneers of entertainment. ❤
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
I am well and thank you for asking. Be blessed and stay safe. 🙏🌝💯
@@barbarayoung2053 Good to hear that, how’s your day going and what’re you up to?
He treated Lucy horribly. It’s no secret she put up with him through thick and thin. It crushed Lucy and I’m sure the many times she forgave him got old through the many years. She made him.
Absolutely true - she made him!
They made each other. Desi was a genius when it came to behind the scenes. He was handsome. Smart business man. They made each other.
I love their movie The Long Long Trailer. There are to many favorite I Love Lucy episodes to name. Great memories !❤
I was backing out of the garage to go to work and the DJ on the radio said this is in honor and memory of Lucille Ball. It was the theme from I Love Lucy. It took me a second to comprehend what the DJ had said and then the theme song came on.I sat there listening to it and began to cry. Not our adorable, beautiful, crazy, wacky, lovable, mega talented, wonderful Lucy. I grew up watching her and thought she was just about the funniest lady I’d ever seen. If I ever felt down all I had to do was watch Lucy and laugh. So just like that our wonderful red headed clown was gone and my world was a little sadder because I really did love Lucy💔
Grew up watching them. Loved them. My dad loved the show too. ❤❤
When we were kids, watching the show, every time the commercial came on we would slam the door on the tv…we had this thing to see who jumped up from the floor to slam it…my parents would sit on the sofa watching I love Lucy…never told us to stop. I am 75 yrs old now, still watching reruns.
My favorite episode was when Lucy was trying to help Ricky read a childs book. Too funny. English is not an easy language.
It’s so wonderful that they could love each other, even when their marriage was over.
I grew up watching I Love Lucy. One of the greatest shows.
I watched the re- runs for Yeeeeeears after. And had a very hard time letting go of the re-runs in the end. They were the best TV couple! I literally loved them ❤️
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
I LOVED ALL THEIR SHOWS...THE BEST...WE NEED SOME OF THIS NOW IN OUR CRAZY 🤪 WORLD....
This was fantastic. What a love story. You can't make this stuff up. I have loved this couple for what seems like forever. My mom got me watching I love Lucy as a kid.
I was born 1961 and adored the show! My best friend and I use to mimic her and play house as Ethel and Lucy!😂
We were watching their show in Buenos Aires Argentina where it was dubbed in Spanish and it was a terrific show; of course after 1962 we were watching it in the USA! Fabulous stars!
NoT just one favorite episode. When my friend got dementia, I was losing her slowly so every call I would just say one thing like “remember Lucy in the freezer” “Ethel & Lucy working in chocolate factory” “Lucy made her own dress and did her own hair to save money” Lucy & Ethel bought same dress and both decided not to return and wore on stage destroying it as they sang. “vita meta vegamin” “babysitting for twins playing cowboys” “when she got angry at ricky that apt was too small so pulled out every toy even the slide from maybe alley…. Etc!! It was such a great help to me. I telephoned twice a week instead of visiting because she would tell her kids I visited - so I could give her joy without the pain of being in person due to many years of elder care. Memories, sweet memories
They were magic. I grew up watching them.
I love Desi’s advice to his daughter 🥰
These two had great chemistry together on screen
To bad they couldn't have the same in real life
Grew up with I Love Lucy and so did my kids 😊
