- Orks aren't doing that well yet in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, let's have a look at the best units and combos to help get there.

He is! And is in my list but not a combo he's just a tough dude on his own 😁
Nothing more depressing than watching him shrug off a full Vindicator blast and Predator Destructor volley as the Oathed target.
The Beastboss on Squigosaur with Headwoppa's Killchoppa just does it all right now. He moves fast, melts vehicles with devastating wounds, can also deal with elite infantry well and is basically unkillable with T10, 9W 5++ invuln and 4+ FNP. Definitely unkillable if you have a Painboss nearby to heal what damage he does take. Plus he re-rolls charges in an aura like all Orks used to.

I’ve had great success with the DeffKilla wartrike with the super cybork body for a 4+ fnp. So he becomes a T6, 9 W, 4+ save, 5+ invulnerable, 4+ fnp who can auto advance 6” and is great for behind enemy lines, engage on all fronts, capture enemy outpost for a little over 100 points

You can also stick Ghaz in a Battlewagon with a pair of Meganobz, but I agree; he's scary enough to draw the fire of absolutely everyone on the board when he's not in a car, and he tends to get shot off the board before getting to do anything.
I don't think anyone would complain for Ghaz's unit to be 18 slots and it includes Makari, it's a shame the battlewagon isn't brilliant this edition, although I'd defo take the ard case as a T12 carriage for Ghaz is ace
@@SimplyWarhammer yeah, it's cool that you get all the fun gear for free, but it's pretty mediocre. Pilling it full of shoota boys and buffing it with a mek gets you a ridiculous amount of anti-chaff shooting, but it's VERY expensive, and orks don't really need another way to kill chaff. It's also pretty gnarly in melee, but it tends to get shot off the board before it can get there; it's too big to hide, it's too dangerous for your enemy to ignore, and it's not tough enough to soak up all that incoming fire.
There are very few situations where you wouldn't be better off spending the points on trukks and forcing your opponent to split their fire.
Yer exactly, and people aren't bringing chaff at the moment there is no incentive to do so!
Trukks will be a key play thus whole edition I think
Grot Mega Tanks are great for the points (with a mek). I had one chip 6 wounds off a Custodes grav tank in the last game I played, and then soaked up a whole turn of shooting from TWO grav tanks before popping. Not bad at all for 110 pts, and it would absolutely mulch infantry.
Also, Killa Kanz get devestating wounds on the basic "Kan Shoota," and they hit surprisingly hard in melee.
I'm considering building a grot army with tons of Grot Tanks, Grot Mega Tanks, Killa Kans, and Mek Guns. It would be pretty damn squishy in melee, but it would have a pretty devastating amount of dakka!
A Grot army would be ace ! And imagine losing to just grots haha 😄

Definitley getting the kommandos, they look so cool and that teleport with snikrot looks so good. But what about any ork aircraft? are they worth the points?
Aircraft are in a funny position, coming on turn 2 without hover they have difficult flight paths that will likely mean they have to fly off the table in a turn to return in the next. You might get 3 turns of shooting out of them at best. Bit expensive
The weirdboy is also good for a cheap teleport if that is part of your secondary scoring plan 😁
want to get a mek to buff my various vehicles. I've really been considering some of those forge world tanks. may not be meta but they sound fun
the forgeworld stuff (or now 15+ lol) for orks is a lot of fun and reasonable statlines, nothing ground breaking. The grot mega tank and mini tanks are ace but it all has a place. I do worry though how long some of those things will remain playable, lots has gone to legends
If where you play allows 3D printed models or proxies you should definitely be running Gargantuan Squiggoths. For 440 points you get the best combat profile in the entire game, the best defense (T13, -1 to wound strat, 30W), and it transports 20 models. It absolutely kills anything it touches with it's 7A, sustained hits, S14, Lance, ap-3 and DAMAGE 12 WAAAAGH
This IS an ace idea and tbh I might switch to playing this and Orks this weekend 😁
@@SimplyWarhammer I'm bringing 3 to a local tournament this weekend! 3 Gargantuan Squiggoths each with two Boyz units in transport. Then a 20 pack with weird boy for da jump. A few Grots for the backfield objective. Tons of aggression that this "shooty" edition just cannot handle! I have kitbashed LOTR Mumikil with huge Ork armor plates and howdas. 🍻🍻🍻

The old start collecting video is OK still, depends whether you want competitive straight away? Go for a combat patrol as that's the biggest savings, or the beast snagga boxset if you can. Grab a few trukks as they are ace, and then just get what you like 😁

Honestly been going through a lot of these videos looking for a fun 1000 point ork army I have a lot just still too new to figure out what may turn the tide in my matches against my homies when we play
Hi, as a cool idea try out this load, there's 165 pts left for enhancements and other units you like but this lot will be great, the beastsnaggas and beastboss in trukks
2 x Beastboss (160 points)
1 x Beastboss on Squigosaur (165 points)
2 x Beast Snagga Boyz (210 points)
2 x Trukk (100 points)
2 x Gretchin (90 points)
1 x Squighog Boyz (110 points)
A Nob on smasha squig with kunning brutal leading a squad of squighog boyz is very good for triggering lance

I honestly just stick to my strat of 12 boyz in a trukk in reserves so I can plow it into the backline.

Boyz in a trukk is ace but I'd consider taking 10 and a character as the leader for extra umph 😁
How do you rate Flash Gitz w/Kaptin Badrukk? They seem like a solid shooting unit to me, but I've only got one game of 10th under my belt so far.
They seem ok. I wouldn't say that special, a bit like burna boyz they could be good for you
I like them but end up cutting because their AP is trash. Getting cover saves is easy now.
Yer it is super easy and 40k is won with movement and hitting on 5s moving isn't poor, obvs it goes to 4s stationary which is good for Orks 😁
Never discount a Stompa, standing behind a Mekboyz Workshop, with a Mek standing beside him. 2d3 health returned per Turn, hits on 4s, is so large you NEVER need to move to see anything, so big noone can get within range of the objective you're standing on lol. I've won games with my Stompa backed up by Meks, with 3 Kustom Mega Blaster Deff Dreads, all with 4 KMBs strapped to them. Firing down range, tabled people in shooting lol
haha I was considering how good a Mek with a Stompa would be, he would hide nicely behind although also gets lone operative anyway... its just sooooo expensive, i'm hoping it goes down to 650 max

Orks arw great but they dont have the tools against the top armies that everyone seems to have jumped to play now !
Well yes, most factions struggle atm against the top ones, and its one of my pet peevs people that meta chase and just to factions because they are doing well. I much prefer people that just want to play their army and have fun. For some of course 40k isn't about fun but winning
I've been playing burna boyz in gargantuan squiggoth, and it's the funniest thing I've ever seen. 20 firing deck, and it all overwatches for 1cp.
That's great fun 😅 thinking of doing something similar myself lol
The only shame is when shooting from the fire deck no abilities of leader buffs count so everything is 5s to hit unless its flamers 😁
sadly you can't use the firing deck in overwatch because it is not your shooting phase and out of phase rules says you cannot use any other rules that would normally be triggered in that phase (see rules commentary)
That's an interesting one 🤔 I don't know how this is ruled tbh. Firing deck isn't a unit ability as such it's a keyword. And the rule states the transports shoots as though the guns were equipped itself. So fire overwatch allows you to shoot like its the shooting phase and in that phase the transport has those extra guns attached... 🙃
@@SimplyWarhammer It doesn't work sadly. I just figured that out after reading the rules again. Firing deck only works in the shooting phase. I was playing it wrong. Flamers in a big transport is still fun even without overwatch, though.
Yer spend some time discussing on my discord and agree, fire overwatch can't use firepower from firing deck. Its a shame by hay ho

He can but won't fit with a meganobz squad too, thats the issue. He'll be on his own and really needs bodyguards this edition.
Not really sure how efficient for the points a battlewagon is this edition 😅

@SimplyWarhammer Seeing how unless you go with something specific you are likely only getting shoota or sluggas I think that +2 toughness is gonna be waaaay more important. Plus the battle wagon has plenty of guns on its own with a good range

A weirdboy in a truck. You can disembark and Da Jump him into a corner or quadrant or empty OBJ.
He can do that without the trukk of course but do you mean keep him in 1 for safety ? A 55pt single dude is quite good for points scoring and hiding somewhere 😁👍

He's probably the cheapest option in the index for getting someone into a board corner when you really need it 😁

@SimplyWarhammer worked for me my last game ghaz marched on was in full combat turn 3 and wrecked everything he touched untill taken out by mortal wounds

I know it's more points but if you're going to take ghaz you need to take follow me lads, that extra 2" makes a huge diffrence, it's still probs to many points though
Unfortunately because Ghaz is an epic hero he can't have an enhancement but perhaps Makari can ?? strange one lol

@@SimplyWarhammer #1 they got rid of the psychic phase and just turned it into another gun. #2 I can't run a warboss or ghaz with anything but knobs in mega armor. #3 they ruined wargear and customization #4 the new kits are monopose, further ruining customization.
I think all of these are a shame and can see why they ruin things. I think the new kits are only monopose in the starter boxset, if you bought them separately they wouldn't be push fit, at least that's what I think
@@SimplyWarhammer I mean i still make it work. And as much as i hate monopose, the new ork sculpts are pretty dope. They should at least make the price the same as the old boys tho SMH.
