  • Fury 325 is a Bolliger & Mabillard giga coaster at Carowinds. Spanning across both North and South Carolina, this coaster has won the Amusement Today Golden Ticket Award for the world's best steel coaster 5 years in a row. I DEFINITELY agree but.....I haven't ridden X2 and A LOT of people say it's the best. Goliath at Six Flags over Georgia is flat out boring compared to this ride. Intimidater 305 is good but the I'm more of a fan of Fury's floater over Intimidater's snappy...

As an NC resident myself, I can safely say Fury 325 is the best. The sheer speed left me speechless after my first ride. I’ve done the very front and the very back and both deliver very different rides. That one support during the helix always makes me move my head away. It’s by far the craziest head chopper moment for me.

This is the rollercoaster that made me an enthusiast. Carowinds was my home park for the last decade. I remember following Fury’s construction and waiting in line for 3 hours to ride it opening day. Ever since then it’s been my favorite coaster. And this years crew was AWESOME!!!! They were super friendly, never stapled, and pumped trains out!! Fury is one of those rare coasters you have to ride before you die

I absolutely LOVE every B&M giga. I see a part of it as a way for B&M to step out of their comfort zone, especially with the “weak” Orion. We have seen that MASSIVE over-banked turn on Orion. Usually B&M is really conservative with their layouts and don’t take huge risks with outer banks or crazy elements. Once the economy in theme parks are back to normal, I could most definitely see myself being extremely excited to hear about a new giga. Basically, I love seeing B&M step out of their comfort zone. It’s a sense of power and shock to me.

Lol. We rode this opening year and me and my daughter just rode it again on Sunday and that is the perfect way to sum the monster up. Holy hell. Nothing seems to have changed about how it rides in 7 years. If anything it's even more intense than I remembered. Fury is a Top 10 overall, and Top 5 steel coaster for me. I agree it should be a contender for the best coaster in the world and it is easily one of the most re-ridable coasters. I've had bad luck with the row selections. In all my visits, the only thing we're allowed to request is the front row, and sometimes, that is also denied. I've never seen them honor back row requests. When a grouper wasn't present, I snagged some back row rides. In my 50+ rides, the only time I've ever gotten any airtime between the drop & treble-clef was in the front row, far left seat. Still, the speed through that section is incredible. On 5 of my 7 days at the park (1 of 3 this year), Fury had quite a rattle, very bad in 2018.
Maybe I'm a spoiled Intamin fanboy, or maybe I still haven't gotten Fury at its best. I prefer the Intamin gigas, for their sense of speed, superior views from the top, smooth rides, and insane intensity (especially i305--my favorite). But Fury is still in my top 5% of coasters I've ever ridden, and I'm someone who likes everything. So even if my praise of Fury isn't as high as it is with others, I still love it a lot.

A few years ago I went to a funeral in Hilton head Island and the original route from Northern Virginia was flooded due to a hurricane so we had to take I 81 to I 77 the Carolinas and I knew Carolyn‘s was right off of I 77 at the North of South Carolina state line and within 3 miles of the park there was this down hill elevation and I saw Fury and Intimidator that far in the distance and man those coasters are enormous. And my whole body dropped once I saw that skyline of Carowinds. I honestly could not believe my I my eyes and I think it is the greatest skyline I have ever seen for a theme park in my life. But I never been to Carowinds in my life and only just passed it on the way to Hilton head Island but driving on interstate 77 especially southbound through downtown Charlotte going to Columbia and seeing Carowinds such a magical moment and I would much prefer cross on the South Carolina state line on I 77 rather than on I 95.

I just got back from Carowinds yesterday, and I can say from experience that Fury is a completely different breed. No other coaster even comes close to replicating the unique feel that Fury has. It’s like if you took Millennium Force, got rid of the bad things about it, and made the good things about it even better. The ride is so out of control and shows no mercy. When you ride in the front, it feels like 50 leaf blowers are plowing your face. It is currently my second favorite coaster, above The Voyage and only Steel Vengeance is better than it.

I had dreamed of a 300 foot B&M after riding Diamondback. I remember when this was announced and I was obsessed with that first hill then SV and Orion were built and then I went sky diving. Orion’s drop was as good as Fury so I got my fix their. By 2020 my hyped really died down for Fury I only did because iron Gwazi was closed but once I rode Fury in 2021 I was stunned I under estimated the speed feeling it felt like I was gliding on a magic carpet. Yep 10/10. Fury is a masterpiece - perfect for Carowinds - the best of the 4 U.S. Gigas, and easily re-rideable too, unlike i305. Crazy there are no U.S. B&M or Intamin Hypers or Gigas west of Chicago. Would love to see B&M top Fury. Sea World San Antonio has the land (south side of park behind Texas Stingray) and borrowing capacity to add one of these if they ever decide to go after the thrill seeker market in a meaningful way. "Everything is bigger in Texas" should apply to Gigas too!

I might be crazy but i feel like this didnt live up to my expectations. I came with a background of Leviathan being my most ridden ride by far, and after travelling 12 hours to carowinds, i honestly felt like the ride felt pretty similar with some mild airtime on the banked turns and slightly stronger airtime. When I rode Behemoth I preferred the back but when I rode Leviathan it was a tie between the front and the back since the trains aren't as long and the drop is much bigger and the speed is much faster. Perhaps that's why every park with a B&M giga sized hypers are paired with a B&M hyper with staggered seating trains; so that the extreme elements in the front and back of the long trains are an even match for the high speeds of the Giga sized B&M hyper. I did prefer Behemoth over Leviathan due to both having more airtime and a significantly longer prime ride duration, and even though I've never visited King's Island, I'm sure I'd prefer Diamondback to Orion.
But Carowinds is the only park where I'm sure I prefer the giga sized B&M hyper to the more standard sized BYM hyper, since 1: I'm not fond of Intimidator's layout and trim breaks on the 1st two camelbacks and 2: Fury 325 is B&M's best coaster that has enough elements and duration taken at such a fast speed. It's not perfect; I'd prefer it if it had untrimmed camelbacks earlier in the ride, but it is most likely the world's best giga and I'd also probably like it even better than Behemoth, Diamondback or Shambala. It's probably even B&M's best coaster.
I prefer Millennium Force to Leviathan, but I'm pretty sure I'd prefer Fury 325 to both Behemoth and Millennium Force. I'm not sure if I think Fury 325 would beat Steel Vengeance, but I just might think so if I ever get a chance to ride it, which I hope I can do someday. Thanks for creating and posting this review!

I TRULY hope Knotts gets another B&M, they seem to get a big ride every 5 years (2018 Hangtime, 2023 Montezoomas re-imagining), here's hoping for 2027/2028 the 30th anniversary of when Cedar Fair bought Knott's from the Knott Family (December 30, 1997)

Sorry but I just can’t agree with 2:43. To this day I still believe Carowinds and Canada’s Wonderland to be messy parks because of this. A hyper coaster is simply outclassed by a giga coaster. Lol you be reviewing so many good coasters lately. Of course the one and only Fury 325 is a legendary legend of all legends in the coaster industry. What isn't there to love about probably the most fun coaster in the world period. Fantastic airtime, it's not insane ejector but better, its he amazing sustained strong floater which is the best and most breathtaking fun airtime you can ever experience. And mix hat with probably the best first drop in the entire world and even good positives on its pullout which is unique considering this is a B&M. Fury 325 is for everyone, well maybe not the people to scared to ride such a giant. But the mix of positive Gs, negative Gs, the fast turns side to side. The tunnel, the unique elements.
