Thanks man, I appreciate that. If you hunt long enough, you're bound to make some mistakes here and there. I probably shouldn't, but I always share the good and the bad. lol
I own aCZ527 carbine in 7.62x39. The camber in the 527 is cut for steel cased ammo. I hand load my own cartridges and was getting light strikes. I found by setting my sizing die to just touch the shell holder instead of a light cam over at the top of the stroke I eliminated the light strike issue and got improved accuracy. It is possible that the 600 chamber is also cut for steel based ammo. By the way my 527 is exceptionally accurate, especially with steel based cartridges.
Wow...your first shot must have hit his OnStar navigation system or something. That light primer strike sure gave you a curve ball but you sure recovered nicely at 200 yards.
Thanks Andy, you are right. He sure didn't know if he was coming or going, but luckily he stayed in the open, so I could follow up. I would have felt horrible if he took off only to be wounded like that.
They say MAD on them, so I assume they are, or were, made by MAD Game Calls or Flambeau maybe? Someone asked me that before and I've tried searching for them, but I guess they don't make them anymore. They are short, for sitting or kneeling. All the ones I find when I search are taller or extendable now. I cant even remember where I got them, but I would guess it was at academy several years ago.
I've tried to reply to this two other times and my response keeps disappearing for some reason. Anyway I haven't tried it with this rifle/caliber, but I have with several others that are bigger. I dont think yt likes it when I put the numbers of the other calibers in here. I assume thats why it was disappearing.
@@TheHooliganOutdoors I was just wondering about the potential savings with cheap Soviet ammo(that the Russian' are now burning off in Ukraine) & rifles for Feral Hog Hunting! There's everything from .243 on up taking down full size Boar's on UA-cam & the 7.6x39 is a larger calibre but I haven't seen it get a full size Boar in the plate as of yet.
hello buddy, i´m from germany. here are 3 tips for improvement: first of all: you never shoot an animal when there is another animal in front or in the back of it. so this ricochet wouldnt even be possible. 2. dont shoot if you are not in optimal distance for your cardridge. I wont even start with energy and hunting ethics. Cause we are not allowed to shoot hogs with less then 2000 jule at 100m. 3. always reload and be ready for a 2. shot as fast as possible. I know you have no regulations and ethics regulations in the US, but it would help alot. We have those rules for a reason.
I also know that Germany has A Holes that like to correct others. When shooting hogs there are no rules. As far as other game we do have those types of rules. I understand that you probably look down on non Germans so it’s common for you to be a dick. I hope that helps you.
First, we don't need an ethics lesson from a German! Second, educate yourself before you give advice. You obviously don't have any knowledge regarding hunting and hunting regulations in the US & its various states. Each state has regulations regarding minimum restrictions regarding cartridge/caliber/energy. These are feral hogs, not European boar. They are not native to North America and are considered a pest as they do a lot of damage to farm land, ranch land, forests, and even urban neighborhoods. They multiply much faster than they are being controlled and their population and range is spreading rapidly across the US. Hunters often deliberately take a shot where they can take two hogs with one shot and are often successful. They are sometimes paid by the land owners to reduce the hog population. Many states allow hunting of feral hogs year round on private property. He was shooting within 200 yards with is a very reasonable range for that rifle and that particular load he was using. Particularly for smaller feral hogs. Get off your high horse!
I appreciate when people push ego aside and share mistakes. Its a great reminder for we less experienced guys to work through it.

One thing about it
You definitely show a HONEST video when all things bad can happen and not editing it out !!
Great video !!
Yes sir, thanks man! I was just happy that it stayed in the open for a follow up and didn't run off wounded like that.

Have you hit a full size Boar Shoulder Plate yet?

Yea it was just running around in frame like "look at me, look at me!". lol
Still nice shot those are some strong animals.
Thanks man! It's weird, sometimes they just go down and sometimes they are tough as nails! lol
