I've always wondered if the expensive AR .243, .308's & 30-06's where really necessary to hunt these! Wondered if a Pawn Shop special would do the job & let more people enter the sport. You've proven that with one of the cheapest pcc's on the market & actually shown the best aftermarket stock for this firearm I've ever seen
I saw my first Hi-Point carbine around 1996 or 1998. I remember it had crude adjustable sights, tricky to put an optic on it and it had some sort of sheet metal heat shield over the handguard area. My neighbor tells me he still has it but it has a broken front sight now. Thermal sights are a real game changer. We used an 'old' Raytheon LRAS3 thermal "box" on top of our vehicle overseas...10-digit grids all day everyday.
Ahh I didn't even notice that! I seen one a few nights before this that was hurt and I wanted to get it, but didn't get the chance! If I had noticed it was the hurt one I probably would have taken that one instead.
I hope you wore gloves before you touched that thing…. I’m talking about the Hi Point, not the dead hog 😂 I’ve been tempted to by the carbine in 45ACP….I just couldn’t do it.
@@TheHooliganOutdoors you got rid of the crappy factory furniture so maybe it doesn’t “identify” as a high point anymore. Looks a lot better. If those took Glock magazines they would be phenomenal for the price point. I still think they cost around $300.
It's definitely the way to go if you're going to hunt hogs. I started with night vision and it worked ok, but you can't see through the weeds like with a thermal. The hogs stand out way more with the thermal. The night vision set up added a lot more weight as well.
That's a win for Hi Point! 👍👍
A very rare win probably! lol
@@TheHooliganOutdoors A win is a win. Lol
It got the job done it’s a working man’s carbine at a working class price if it’s puts food on the table it’s worth buying
The thermal makes a HUGE difference. I'd say that hog is a Hi Point trophy
Thermal is definitely the way to go! If I had night vision, all those weeds would have blocked me from seeing it also.
@@TheHooliganOutdoors Excellent point

Yea I had to order a new rail to be able to put the thermal on it. It wouldn't work on the cheap factory one.
Another great video!
Thank you sir! I really appreciate it!
That was cool keep up the great videos
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
The second hawg looked like it was hobbling as it ran away.

Yea it's pretty bad when the scope cost about 7 times more than the rifle! lol

When you only have scope money😂
lmao, now that's funny! hah
Id like to see you use the aac sabre blade 7.62x39.. its a .50 cent hornady projectile.. might even be an sst
Man, I need land to stalk on
I'm very fortunate to be able to hunt this land!
I’d love to get a thermal. I know nothing about them
