- Here is a video showing you how to create your own custom rhythm patterns inside the Roland Fantom G. Rhythm patterns are derived from Phrases. Phrases are made using the sequencer.
THANK YOU, thank you for sharing this recording. Greetings.
Thanks Ed!
Hi I know this is an an old video but this has really helping me, I do this word for word but when playing the rythm back on the pads the sounds are different.
I have watched the instructions a load of times and still do not get the same sounds as I produce in the studio.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Crap.
It seems in Live Mode, my Part 8 MUST be the drums I want the rhythm pattern to use.
That resolves it.
Which also means, I can use pretty much ANY patch instead of the Drums and the rhythm pattern will actually play it with that patch ! Kind of answers the bass guitar question below may be ??
Great Video !!
I just put together a simple rhythm phrase and tried to use it as a rhythm pattern.
For some reasons, "write" operation for the Rhythm pattern 50 to 64 doesn't work !! What I have is the 1.50 os and have deleted all the phrases since it takes a while to load.
I decided to overwrite pattern 01, that worked !
Now, the problem is when I try to use it with a Live Set, and hit the Pad, it uses the patches / parts of the Live Set !!
Is that expected ??
Hey Ed can we do this in Roland FA 08 -06 ? if yes could you make a tutorial ?
Franco FF Guitarist FA-06 has a rythm pattern button. Just press that and u will see on the screen, intro, blablabla, then ending. Its like an arranger coz it has intro and ending. Thats one great feature of the fa-06,08
I have my Fantom G7 PAD to run rhythms. So I press the LIVE button and a PAD, then the rhythm starts playing, but when switching to another record SINGLE, or LIVE, rhythm stops. I've already made FACTORY RESET. You know any change that I have to do in the OS version 1.5 so that the rhythm don't stop?
is it possible to make a pattern with drums bass guitar and play them all back as an arrpegio? now that would be great like making your own rythm section played with the left hand . like the motif i believe ?
How do u quantize on this ? I can never find it
why did Roland make it so complicated to use their product? There are init songs, init studio, init live set, init phrase, init this init that . why cant it allow just one button to init everything. And then you have to name each one differently, it takes forever to use their character wheel thing to select a character one at a time. Too much wasted time and too complicated to use, why cant it name them for you based on what a global song name? Also why can't the live studio set be put into a recording into studio mode? After you create a live set with a lot of pain, all that efforts wasted if you want to record a song with the set you created? I am not blaming Ed, he has been doing a nice job, I am griping about the over-complicated nature of Fantom G
