They make a black trim version of this stuff which I am making a review for too. Honestly, I think they are both the same product but different labels and packing. Dont quote me on that. I dont know if you can see it too well in the video, but I used their plastic trim coating on the fender flares and it is pretty good as well! Only time will tell how long it lasts and that is the biggest seller for me.

I applied this to my tires from the directions on the bottle, I got one month out of the shine, began dulling after 3 weeks. I have tried every product out there that claims from 6 months to a year. A month is the longest I ever got, and that is stretching it. Those are the facts!
People don't realize Turtle Wax has been around for a very very long time it's not pricey and a great product I detail cars and trucks for a side job and I've always used Turtle Wax for different things I'm going out and buying this product today Thank you for the video
You should make a video on how to prepare for a long road trip. There are very little videos of what to check on your car and what to bring and all that good stuff. I love your videos man keep up the good work.
Massive thanks for updating monthly. Looks like the winter season took its toll on the product, so even at that it will last all summer I put tire shine on my tires all week so I will be investing in this thanks to your video and updates. Awesome and thanks man appreciate it.
Using the Meguiars Endurance gel (got to this video a little late for the Turtle Wax). Works pretty well, daily driving my SS with some Goodrich tires...stays shiny for a month, but start noticing fade after a couple weeks. The deep wet look lasts for a good week. Overall, better option (slightly more work) than using spray on.
Armor All Extreme Tire Shine. Hands down the best tire shine product I’ve ever used. If it doesn’t rain and you don’t drive down a dirt road it last for days and days.
@@1000ClayHunter but not the best in your life to get back to your old lady in a while and then all you can do it will look like you have to go back and get a roid out for a few weeks and i love u and me
Hal HansenI’ve been using this stuff for a year or longer. I saw it on this site. It’s not a wet shine, maybe because my tire isn’t molded smooth like that. But it keeps the tire extremely deep black with kind of a satin gloss. I LOVE THIS STUFF. I use it maybe 4x a year. I’ve tried quite a few products on the market and none were as simple and long lasting is this. Wear gloves. When I put it on the applicator, it can drip on your cement garage floor or driveway, I now pour it onto the applicator, overtop of the garbage can after the little squeeze nozzle clogged . Use a towel or rag to wipe off any accidently that you get on your wheel, immediately. It’ll come off 100% but if you leave there ...it’s very close to being permanent. I consider this the number one tire product in the World. And it doesn’t spin, sling off onto your car
I got it on my hands and it dried to black skin. I will keep all of the subscribers updated if my hands stay black for a year. Probably my right will turn back to pink sooner (if you know what i mean).
I am constantly asked how I keep my tires, fenders and Jeep hard top looking new. Its so easy. I use my dirty oil and apply after every oil change. Its free and gets attention.
Best tire cleaner is (Awesome) from your local dollar store. It beats anything out there. As for the tire shine, the tire will look good for a little wile until all of the road grime and brake dust starts sticking to it. I quit using any type of tire shine years ago. Just a cleaner with Awesome makes them black just like when new. If you have white walls or white lettering then all of the brake dust will make them dirty in a hurry with a tire shine.
+vegasfordguy ......Back in the 70s, Dunlop put out a high gloss, wet look, brush on tyre paint. lasted for ages, then a few years later, they dropped that line. One point of note, is those early 60s white rubber rings to give your car the white wall look, were ticking time bombs for a tyre blowout. The tyres I had back then were conventional cross-plies and the Good Year add on white walls, had after a time, worn a ring in the sidewalls of the tyre, just at the top of where the white wall contacts the tyre and in fact I could notice the canvas reinforcing just beginning to show. The tyre dealer said the white wall sets up a slight fluttering motion, particularly at speed, that softly "hammer" the sidewall, abrading minute amounts of rubber over time to eventually cut straight through the wall, and blam. Years later when radials were the tyre of choice and cross-plies were relegated to 6 ply for Caravans/trailers etc., white walls disappeared for awhile, then they introduced them again, suitable for radials, but were tissue paper thin. They didn't wear the sidewalls at least , but after some time they feathered their tops with tiny cuts and just looked daggy....
+David Hamilton I remember the old Tire Black paint. We also used it to paint the numbers on the roundels before a race. It came off easily- with gasoline! Ha
I use it on everything and it rocks! It's the best cleaner that I've ever used. Use it on my vehicles for heavy cleaning and decreasing, use it in my kitchen, etc.
I have used this product for a year now and it does hold its shine. I found out they discontinued this product which is to bad. Anyhow if I got any of this on my rims I used Turtle Wax bug and tar remover and it does the job. One other pro is that a little goes a long way. Thanks for your videos, they are very informative
Your effort to help others out safely work on their vehicles are very professional I like your positive attitude that helps people at least try to help them selves I give you a thumbs up with out watching the video until later because I have become one of your top fans your doing a great job Chris I have my daughters listen and watch your videos I'll try to send you a picture this way they will take better care of their truck!
Chris: A misconception that I hear/see in almost every video on cleaning tires. The brown coloration you see during cleaning isn't dirt, It's oxidized urethane and plasticizer or mold release compound. Removing it exposes the undamaged urethane directly to UV, so so kind of protectant like the TW product should be applied. An less than good cleaning technique, that takes more effort, but doesnt do a good a job is using a sponge on tires. When you hear a wooshing noise as you rub down the sidewalls, they have a parallel striped grain, and you are rubbing across it. Rub with the grain to get down to the clean urethane at the bottom of those grooves. A stiff nylon brush does a better job than any sponge can.
pssst3 really late here. But 2 of my tires have this problem per se. The brown coloring looks terrible and in need to get rid of it asap. Any other tips you didn't mention in your post??
I have found that wet sandpaper is the only thing that removes the brownish tint on the white letters. I believe the tint is actually oil permeating as tires are made from oil
I use purple power degreaser. the gal is about 5 bucks and I use it full strength. don't let it dry on there and don't get it on your skin it is strong. it does a good job getting the old dirty silicone dressing off the tire. you may need multiple passes if it has been on there a long time.
Chris I'mma tell you are awesome I am a detailer and I get a lot of good ideas from you when I listen to your videos I listen to it all the way to the end thanks Chris for all your advice on detailing vehicles
I'll try it but my go to has been Mcguiars Tire Foam, spray the foam on your tire and never touch it. Remove any over spray from your rim. Let it dry completely for atleast 2 hours. I will try this product though.
CARMEN NEWTON according the the month by momth update, the product lasted well for 5 mknths which in any case is pretty impressive. I wouldnt mind applying a coat every 5 months. So what if its not a year. 10 minutes ince every 5 months is fine by me
I watched this video and got the stuff to try. it worked real nice for the first 2 days. then it faded real fast like every other product out there. I recommend sticking with Armour All foam or spray for half the price.
so 6 months.. that's still a long ass time.. it does say "up to" a year and in marketing sales talk that only means it won't last more than a year.. it could last 5 minutes and you can still market it as "up to" a year..
Well yeah, the reason is obviously cause if you are a person that off roads every weekend... Compared to someome that never does.... Then the longevity will differ. I know acrylic is tough... It's a pain to get off my nails 😂 so js. 5 months is a long time for tire shine. Just take care of them. If chris only used 10% of the solution and it lasted 5 months... Guess what that bottle will last you a lil over 4 years 😆😂
I had a can of black magic foam tire shine, it had problem discharging the contents. I called customer service. They gave me a new can, stuff 2orks good as tore precleaner. Also include tire wax, I still have the tube as many find it hard to believe, it was not even on store shelves yet. It worked great. Nice shine, didn't attract dust. When something works they get rid of it, to keep you buying more.
as much as i love his channel, there is no product on the market anywhere in the world which can keep tyres shinning for a year, the longest bive had mine for was a week and ahalf, it doesnt matter what you use it doesnt last long unless you keep spraying them which is a waist of money an pointless
@@davidbonnett2422 Try McGuires Endurance. It’s great, it dries, lasts a long time, it doesn’t collect dust or sling. It’s purple and smells like grapes. It’s really good. Not overly shiny either.
Yeah, the best most popular one is Black Magic. Detailers use that brand. I prefer to spray it on a rag, then clean out the tire shine. More even that way. The foam & go slings off if you move too soon.
Blessed Mother use Goo Off to remove the brake dust from the rim and wipe the tire off ....wash the rim and tire ...let dry...get some tire cleaner and spray in the tire, let it dry, spray and dry about 3-5 times to insure the cleanliness of the rubber. THEN! spray wireless tire SHINE, go over it a couple times and I can promise you that it will shine for a week even if it rains
I'll be getting that product and giving it a try. Do you have anything for cleaning aluminum wheels without killing my arms scrubbing? Thx Chris, great video's bud
Problem with that is that there are too many variables. You need all season, winter, summer, truck, suv, car, comfort, sport, durability, domestic, euro, Chinese?
I live in Australia. In the 70's i worked in a car yard as a detailer. We used to spray the tyres with something similar that lasted well over a month. It was that long ago I forget the product name. but it was bought out be Selleys Automotive.
That brown that came of during the cleaning could possibly be the anti ozone/UV element in the rubber compound. As tires flex when driven, the anti UV material is designed to work it way to the surface and continually renew protective film. Cleaning or used of the wrong cleaners destroys this layer making the tire rubber more susceptible to UV/ozone damage. This is why relatively new tires that see little use fail with low miles, i.e. trailer and RV tires. I am curious what TW says about this. Some products like 303 state they renew or supplement the protective film. Would like for you to try the 303 and offer an opinion.
I used to work for a tire distributor, tires would brown after sitting in the shelf for long periods of time so yes it is part of the compound not from tire shine or "activated by the rotating motion" it is simply part of the chemical compound
Had this stuff on for about 2 weeks with 2 coats as directed by the instructions, so far so good but it has rained and The tires look "dingey/ dirty" but I will spray off tomorrow and re wash the car to see how it looks
A very THIN application of brake fluid will work wonders. Actually melds a little of the cracked rubber back together again. Truckers have been doing this for years. Repeat a very thin coat wiped on... No, more is not better... And it won't last a year. For idiots only.. do not apply on the tread. Geez, one would think you wouldn't have to say it.
+Nate Ngzcaz I'll try this right after I'm done hosing out my engine. I think I've rinsed just about all the oil out of the block, gonna add soap and let it run a few hours. People have banged thier 1st cousins for years, doesn't make it a good idea.
I've been using tranny fluid for years to restore very old rubber and plastic on very old vehicles, cars, trucks, motorcycles... hoses, vacuum lines, weatherstrip, wire insulation and channeling, bushings, etc... works great to keep your weather stripping fresh. Cleans grease and grime. I've had some jobs where just about everything was petrified. I filled a spray bottle with the tranny fluid, sprayed 'em down completely, let them sit for a day. Wallah! Once it's done it's job of making things flexible again, you can just wash it off your engine bay or motorcycle or whatever, then use whatever you normally use, Armorall and such. You must know how much some wiring harness's hoses and especially weather stripping costs new... what have you got to lose. The tranny fluid has stuff in it to expand and freshen rubber seals and remove gunk or keep it from forming, so that's why it works so good. On very old stuff it'll buy you some time before you replace what needs to be replaced. I use the high mileage stuff myself. Plain ol' rubbing alcohol works great for expanding leather. Those fancy expensive shoe expanding "formulas" all smell suspiciously like rubbing alcohol. I've never tried it on leather seats. It does work on shoes, gloves, knife sheaths...
I did this and now whenever I drive my car I look like a pimp. I am constantly stopped by law enforcement and have had a number of drive by shootings when the vehicle is parked at my house. Use with caution.
+English Heart Wow! if I get stopped by the cops several times, eventually they will tell the other cops. “hey the guy with the shiny tires, Don’t stop him” this will be my trade mark. Hum, I may have to wear a bright blue shirt to let the cops know I am still in the closet.
+Lawrence M Why would you get stopped for having shiny tires? Maybe they think you got the stuff all over, even n the tread face? That would be bad; like greasing your brake pedal pad.
why would you get any on your brakes? you would have to be pretty incompetent. If you clean your vehicles every few days, no reason you couldnt use oil, i just think there is better products out there for the job and I dont find them too expensive.
While this stuff may not have lasted a full year 4 months is still impressive to have 90% remaining. In my experience tire shines typically remain shiny for up to 2 weeks with no rain, rain significantly reduces it. Does this 4 months include regular vehicle washes and do you wash the wheels? Also was the vehicle exposed to the elements or stored inside?
i bought this in a red container, i dt remember if it was turtle wax product but it held up for 3 months great, but being kinda like a gel i was surprised how well it didnt have dirt stick to it, i did apply it to the dash which wasnt good becuz it made it kinda sticky to the touch so i wiped it off with a cleaner, but these tire gels are awesome for sidewalls,
You must buy a turtle, cook it in 350 degree oven, then allow to cool. Spoon the oil from the baked turtle into a jar and then apply to the tires with a sponge. BONUS-Put the turtle carcass in a pot of boiling water. Season to taste. Voila - you have turtle soup! EZ PEEZEE!

+Joe Buchanan it shines extremely dark for about 2 weeks and starts to shine less after 2-3 car washes. For 10.99$ it's not bad at all.
+Joe Buchanan 2 weeks is long compared to some of the shit I've used.
+carman81usa I used painters tape around the rim's edge and it helped.
All your vids are great. The fact that you actually followed through with your monthly updates, I just subscribed!
Why would they discontinue it
I guess it worked too well!
I use a cheap paint brush from dollar tree to apply my tire shine. I have way more control that way.
Yup I use a foam brush work's great use smaller foam brush for cleaning vents and such
Cris fix makes everything look so simple
so 6 months.. that's still a long ass time.. it does say "up to" a year and in marketing sales talk that only means it won't last more than a year.. it could last 5 minutes and you can still market it as "up to" a year..
Yea it was pretty good and good point.
Guess what that bottle will last you a lil over 4 years 😆😂
This is an AD guys. Does anyone actually buy this load of crap?
Have they discontinued this product??
Kills ‘ yh
I had a can of black magic foam tire shine, it had problem discharging the contents. I called customer service.
They gave me a new can, stuff 2orks good as tore precleaner. Also include tire wax, I still have the tube as many find it hard to believe, it was not even on store shelves yet. It worked great. Nice shine, didn't attract dust. When something works they get rid of it, to keep you buying more.
I’ve never had any tire shine last more than about 4 days 🤣
Same here, what ever I have used
as much as i love his channel, there is no product on the market anywhere in the world which can keep tyres shinning for a year, the longest bive had mine for was a week and ahalf, it doesnt matter what you use it doesnt last long unless you keep spraying them which is a waist of money an pointless
I used clear coat on tyres once back in the 90's, looked good and lased quite a while 😎
@@davidbonnett2422 Try McGuires Endurance.
Imagine ur whole car covered in dirt except for your tires
Kinda weird
I got new tires after off roading it looks very unsetlling
It should motivate you to keep your vehicle cleaner then. js
Ciao Chris, could you make a video showing the best product for cleaning and maintaining convertible tops?!
You are great. Greetings from Rome, Italy.
not when u live in indonesia which is 36-38°C everyday,i think itll only last for 1-2 week
+Charles Choo or Florida :DDDD
when u live in India(New Delhi) which is 44°c in summer,I think it will only last for a day
yeah,i think not even last one week in my place, cause of the dust n humidity
+fam kima when you live in Bahrain with 50 C itwill stay for 5 hours only
+sayed mohd sayed jawad hahah absolutely! bro me also in Bahrain 😅
“A typical tire shine will last 2 months.” Bro in Alabama a tire shine will last 2 days in the summer and 2 weeks in the winter.
Facts bro! 😂😂😂 my shit never last long man
@Jesse Woodby
What product do you use? :o
Blessed Mother use Goo Off to remove the brake dust from the rim and wipe the tire off ....wash the rim and tire ...let dry...get some tire cleaner and spray in the tire, let it dry, spray and dry about 3-5 times to insure the cleanliness of the rubber. THEN! spray wireless tire SHINE, go over it a couple times and I can promise you that it will shine for a week even if it rains
true, whenever my dad goes to the carwash it stays on for about 2-3 days and then i dont notice it anymore
I'll be getting that product and giving it a try. Do you have anything for cleaning aluminum wheels without killing my arms scrubbing? Thx Chris, great video's bud
So it lasts a year if the vehicle is garage kept and not driven.
Chris Fix,
How do you clean the upholstery on your vehicles and which brands do you recommend?
Dang, 3-4 months of tire shine, that's waaaay better than normal. 🤙🏻 this video is 3 years old and I'm entertained!! 🔥
Chris: i see you have no videos recommending tyres for brands or types.
Could you make one for that please?
Problem with that is that there are too many variables. You need all season, winter, summer, truck, suv, car, comfort, sport, durability, domestic, euro, Chinese?
Would you use this product to a apply to your engine area after cleaning. Like the rubber hoses and the rubber air intakes
doesn't stand the heat. it's only made for ambient temperature
@@isosk1229 don't tires get quite hot too? like 100 degrees celsius plus?
I live in Australia. In the 70's i worked in a car yard as a detailer. We used to spray the tyres with something similar that lasted well over a month. It was that long ago I forget the product name. but it was bought out be Selleys Automotive.
or 5 minutes depending upon where you live
The Pacific ocean my boy
Perhaps the highest viewer count for clicking the description of any yt video ever. Nice
Why did the product get discontinued
OG Fight night ^^^
OUTLAW DEN5ITY c
Well, I have a BMW. Hence, the rims get thickly coated with brake dust, within a week after each cleaning. What's the solution???
.
Ceramic brake pads?
Yep I know what you mean to own a BMW too
@@Scotford_Maconochie: Although, it's fun to drive, it's VERY high-maintenance. How do you keep that brake dust under control???
How safe is it on the rubber? Does it degrade the tire? Is it greasy to the touch after it is applied? Is it recommended by tire manufacturers?
I can't find this product anywhere online.. seems that was discontinued
any other suggestions mr. ChrisFix? thanks
Jhonathan Rivera Maybe it worked so good that it made them lose revenue. They like it better when we have to keep buying frequently. 😹
can we use wax for deep shine or shining for tyres
wax wont shine the tires.
ChrisFix do a face reveal
manomohan jammula he looks nothing like you think he would.
I use meguiars rubber and vinyl cleaner on the tires. It lasts about a month and gives the tires a nice dewy & matte finish.
ChrisFix , any new recommendation now that this is discontinued?
What do you think about a product called tire shine from auto zone?
I recommend applying this in your garage and let it dry. I did it outside and pieces of grass and dirt blew into the sticky wet gel and got stuck.
Edgar Vega not great if it’s made by car plan lasted about a week or two for me
@@WirableCrown1 Good point.
Just use glycerine mixed with water :)
+JOHNNYwxw Thanks for sharing!
:)
Ir wont last long though..But it works perfectly on tires and on any black plastics. Its cheap and non toxic :)
Glycerine, where do you buy that?
Risk's page cvs, Walgreens, wallmart, grocery stores.
tire4coin have best prices
Tranny fluid on the sidewall and not the tread am i right ?
A l - no I think he said to put a generous amount on the treads just before it rains. Best for motorcycles......
Nate Ngzcaz my dad used to do that also, as well as the pledge furniture polish
My bucket list includes "Win a rock, paper, scissors battle with Chris Fix"
Another top notch tutorial, you are ALWAYS spot on. I value your opinion on ANYTHING clean car related! Thank you.
I did this and now whenever I drive my car I look like a pimp. I am constantly stopped by law enforcement and have had a number of drive by shootings when the vehicle is parked at my house. Use with caution.
+English Heart lol, they might need to add a new warning label.
ChrisFix I hope they do. It's tough for a (non) pimp out there!
+English Heart
Wow! if I get stopped by the cops several times, eventually they will tell the other cops. “hey the guy with the shiny tires, Don’t stop him” this will be my trade mark. Hum, I may have to wear a bright blue shirt to let the cops know I am still in the closet.
Lawrence M Or get a T-shirt with John Travolta on it.
+Lawrence M Why would you get stopped for having shiny tires? Maybe they think you got the stuff all over, even n the tread face? That would be bad; like greasing your brake pedal pad.
I always used old motor oil to make the tires shine. Guess I'm old fashion.
+The440plymouth i have 2 gallons of old motor oil does it shine or look wet after you apply ? Thanks.
+Yul Olaivar it will pick up every piece of dust and dirt, buy real tire products!
make sure you get that oil all over your rotors and brake pads......
tyltong123 You obviously have no experience with cars LOL
why would you get any on your brakes? you would have to be pretty incompetent.
I wonder how these chemicals effect the environment/water runoff
Alotbof turtle wax stuff is biodegradable. Idk bout this one, cuz it's pretty heavy duty!
nice presentation
Thank you
Your welcome.
i bought this in a red container, i dt remember if it was turtle wax product but it held up for 3 months great, but being kinda like a gel i was surprised how well it didnt have dirt stick to it, i did apply it to the dash which wasnt good becuz it made it kinda sticky to the touch so i wiped it off with a cleaner, but these tire gels are awesome for sidewalls,
So what if you do this test again but a few more coats of the stuff...
only buy from tire4coin
What's going on with this turtle product??? I cannot find it anywhere to buy it!!!
EZ PEEZEE!
I had to go to Napa auto parts here in Colorado
