Gonna be like 5000 "no carpro perl" comments :(
What about Sam's Detailing? Or Fireball - both are pretty good IMO
but why you didn't add it ?
Literally typing that out, then saw this lol. Surprised you didn't include it as you have mentioned in previous videos how much you like it, which lead me to buy it lol.
Jon. We have to talk. Where is the Perl?
Read 5000 minds 😂
Carpro Perl for its versatility - one product for internal/external trim and tyres.
and great value
@@zigatelban4392 but no longevity ☹️
@@tonyhill1916 i found it to be better for interior surfaces than exterior.
Tac System Seal has the same formula with Car Pro Perl.
@@zigatelban4392 Yeah, I noticed the same. Has lasted really well on my interiors.
Meguiars for me is ace, best deep high gloss finish which is what I like
Smells great too.
I use the same, love it
Does anyone say "Ace" anymore 😲🤔😀
Jon: Let me know how you feel about this
Autoglym: We feel great about this
I love Autoglym stuff, very often underrated in my opinion, I'll be adding this to my arsenal!
@@steverabbits wow, you must really want a shiny arsen..oh, I see.
@@thebrowns5337 😂😂😂😂
I love autoglym 😄
Love Autoglym products but I personally don’t like the tyre dressing
A Gloss meter for tires...AWESOME
Bit sad to see Carpro PERL not in the lineup given how highly you've spoken about it before? Three years ago you said it was the best plastic and rubber dressing?
maybe something similar is in the lineup ;)
@@ForensicDetailing *cough* TAC seal *cough*? :D
@@ForensicDetailing True, but I get great durability from Perl and its good value for money.
I'm guessing Gyeon since its sio2 infused also.
I use the Maguire's one, its especially good if you use the proper applicator. I never drive my car the day I wash it, so after a night in the garage, the next day its fine, I don't get any fling off on to the paintwork. It lasts really well and has that glossy look that I like. I might give the Autoglym one a go, but I still have 2 bottles of Megures, so maybe by the end of the year I can buy some.
Same! I see a lot of folks complain about applying it but I've always used the rectangular applicator brush so never had an issue. If you use a long handle brush with a million soft brittles, yes Meguiar's will be a pain as it is a gel but it last longer than anything I've ever tried.
For most things, I don't think you can go wrong with Autoglym. A couple of products are not fantastic, i.e. I don't like the spray tyre shine, and the Rapid Detailer isn't as good as Megs Quick Detailer. But the tyre gel is great, and Autoglym glass cleaner is by far the best I've used, even my wife has me buy it for round the house. Almost all of the products I use to clean our two cars are Autoglym, support British.
I confess that I've not read all the comments, but am I the only one who associates tyre dressing with Arthur Daily and car lots on the Southend Arterial?
My 45 year old concours winning classic has narrow band whitewall tyres, so using any of these products isn't an option on that particular car due to 'bleed' and discolouration of the white rubber.
I use a combination of diluted De-Solv-It or Elbow Grease (the product, not muscle power), agitated with a non-stick washing up sponge, followed by Raceglaze Whitewall Cleaner, which is basically a rubber cleaner, sprayed on and wiped over with an open cell Basotect melamine sponge (Magic Sponge or similar). The Raceglaze product is the best of all and can be used as a standalone product, but the others are half the price so are useful and cheaper for the first stage of dirt removal.
Properly cleaned rubber has a very low level sheen and looks far more classy than any dressed tyre. I use the same products on all our cars.
An added advantage is that brake dust and road dirt are less likely to stick to the surface.
Stumbled across your video and LOVE your down-to-earth, practical style of presenting, with the hands-on approach. Very informative, thanks very much. Have subscribed as a result.
YAAAY! There can be only one - you need to get yourself a BIG sword now Jon!
Glass cleaner and coatings next please! 😉
You do a good job but cut your videos short man. They're too long. See 'Project Farm' videos, short and to the point. That's how it should be. Please
Wow, almost 20 minutes! 😂
Can you point the darkness meter back at 2020 and see what it says? 😆
--.-- my guess lol
Love these type of comparison videos, a thoroughly good watch Jon well done 👍
Great reviews! Recently got back into home detailing my new car and your reviews have been invaluable. Based on demonstrable evidence and tests, well done, keep it up!
Maguiars ultimate tyre shine it’s in an aerosol spray can, great shine lasts ages
Auto Glym wins but I'm still a long time user of Megs Endurance and think I will be for a while.
PERL probably isn't there because it has no longevity. There's plenty on Detailing World about how it's completely washed off after a rain shower. Probably a good summer dressing if nothing else 👍
PERL isn't there cause his less famous cousin took his spot :)
I’ve used the Meguiar’s for years, that’s my winner.
Totally agree, use it for all external black plastics and it smells like bubble gum. Just need to wipe off the excess so it doesn't fling off
@@shiobahnbrindley3522 It’s good for the external black plastic as well? I boy have the rear diffuser as a Matt back otherwise everything is colour coded or gloss black.
Yep, it's going to be my tire dressing as well. I have an archaic bottle of Turtle Wax that no longer delivers.
@@AlmostLastJedi I would get Cerakote Trimcoat as it is the best at restoring plastics. One package should easily do two cars.
Yeah it’s Merguiars for me too, although I do use Autoglym’s tyre dressing occasionally.
looks like AutoGlym's R&D paid off, defiantly going to try out that dressing.
Just make sure don’t apply to the brake sistem
Would like to see a comparison between auto Glym instant tyre dressing and their gel product :) I love how easy the instant product is to apply
The gel is far better, lasts far longer
Autoglym professional rubber cleaner very good to
I like meguiars but I will apply when I can leave it over night and then wipe over the day after then it seems ok
Yea its very gloopy and sits on for a while, can get alot of spit off even after a few hours
It does give a great finish tho
Meguiar's Endurance is the best for a deep, black shine. It is messy to apply, but if you leave it overnight to dry it's o.k.. I use the turtle wax one for a quick top up between Meguiar's.
Try mixing Endurance with another Meguair’s product named ‘Hot Wheels’ it makes application so much easier and it has great ‘endurance’ too👍🏻
@@666DW O.K. Might give it a try. Thanks.
@@666DW I remembered that I have used "Hot Wheels" in the past. Good product but I find that Turtle Wax tyre shine is just as good at half the price.
@@alanhunter2009 it’s very similar. However, neither the Meguairs or Turtle wax product have a good endurance on their own hence the reason I mix it with the Meguairs endurance tyre shine, which makes it more resilient to water and easy to apply as Endurance viscosity is quite thick.
I've used tyre products before where you get a different finish on different tyres so you really need to find a product that suits your own tyre imo still interesting though
Hi Jon have you thought about reviewing best car undercoating? Such as ACF50 and cavity wax brands etc
Ive not really thought about this ive got a few more like converntional ones to tick off first then can defietly have a think about htis.
Can I just add JennyChem Long Life Tyre Shine to the list :) I find it works really well on my HGV tyres, £22.99 with foam applicator
I'd bet that the Turtle wax wet n black cost is higher per application as you're using a lot spraying it on like that.
Yeah why not into an applicator and wipe in😯 Not only will you use less but get little to nothing on the rims either💡
Is it true that tyre gels/ dressing cause cracks and ageing of tyres to happen more quickly ?
Still using the Megs tyre shine. Lasts me a long time
Don't like it tho :(
@@dimmacommunication I can understand that.
Came for the review.... stayed for the super clean garage !
Which one looks the wettest high gloss after one week of dry weather?
Megs
I'm using the Autoglym and rate it. Even smells ok imo.
It really needs a better cap design to stop product dribbling and gunging up the cap.
Jon im turning into a "scene" fan again. I always get lots of likes on the forums online when i showcase myself using scene products and results.
Use megs the bottle last ages applied with a small sponge
Totally agree, had my bottle for two years and there is still a quarter left, if you use less product and spread it more, which is easily done and then you get no sling. Also £14 were did you get that from Jon, i paid just over £9 last summer from Halfords
aferin gardasım
Optimum lasts months. For me, it’s the best I’ve found. Thanks for comparing!
The best is non of these, look for Soft99’s Black Black tire shine. It dries matte to the touch, and zero sling. You can literally wipe it with your finger after and get no product transfer to your finger. It’s from Japan, and it’s literally the best I’ve used.
I’ve been using VRP for the last couple of years I think when spring comes I’m going to try Feynlab’s black velvet tire sealant or Gyeon tire
I like the Autoglym but it is very messy and dirty. Autoglym also suggest the longer you leave it to dry the better. It is good once it's on and dry though. I usually get about 6 weeks out of it before I want to reapply. Great test.
Thanks for the review. Always enjoy your videos and learn from them. What is the difference between your winner, Autoglym Gel and Autoglym Instant tyre dressing?
If you wanted Sonax to win, you should have tested their newest tire dressing. It’s a spray bottle, costs around 13€ / 500ml and is called Matteffect. It’s very easy to apply, lasts longer then the gel and gives you - as the name suggests - a non shiny finish. I love that one, it’s the best I tried so far.
Everybody wants a shiny tyre
@@SuperNovaHeights_.... No we don't
@@petersmith7126 hell yeah
Gyeon is my favorite. Did a video on using the Q2 Tire on my channel about a year ago. Tempted to test their Tire express as well.
Love the deep matte black look Q2 Tire provides.
Tyre express is gr8
Would love for you do a follow up review with Adams Tire Shine, Yum Cars' Dress and Sansom's Voodoo Black Gloss Tyre & Trim gel. My favourite dressing is Adams Tire Shine, because its too shiny, just how I like it, and it then changes to a matt finish. It lasts about 4-6 weeks for me, driving and staying on the carport, with two coats. Happy to consider others, but doubt anything will beat the Adams Tire Shine. I just wished these manufacturers would offer you a small 50ml bottle as a tester. Common John, start a campaign, We want small 50ml testers, We want small 50ml testers. When do we want it. Now!!!!! I heard from a manufacturer, that Pan the Sponsored channel demanded $5,000 when he had 180K subscribers. But they have no idea how much he charges now. Your thoughts on sponsored channels, that don't admit to being sponsored. As it's so obvious with Pan The Sponsored, as his garage has more products than Halfords, and never ever criticises any products he reviews. Just says how much they cost and how great they are to use. And then next week does the same with another company that paid him to review their products. Does he actually buy any of these products? Your thoughts, please.
KIWI black shoe polish is my weapon of choice. Black, shiny, durable and cheap. And you can also polish your shoes with it!
Alfie is that the paste in the can or the liquid shoe polish in the bottle?
@@timothybrodeur4201 The hard stuff in a flat tin.
@@alfiehammer3538 Thanks for info. How long can you get a shine with one treatment?
Got the Autoglym. Underwhelming....trying tire express next. Like Autoglym polar wash - foam with zero cleaning power
Personally I use the “Autobrite well dressed” always gives a good shine plus can use it on all plastic trims. Good video keep up the good work!
I found Well Dressed too slingy used it once then went back to Gyeon Tire, but I've a white car which shows sling.
I find “Well Dressed” very similar to Maguires Endurance. I only apply it if the vehicle can be left overnight & then I give the tyres another wipe over the next morning. I also use AutoBrite Tyre Gloss or Autoglym Instant Tyre Shine after a maintenance wash but these don’t last long.
You can’t beat the Gtechniq T2 if you ask me £8 for 250ml and you hardly need to use any on an application
Question: If Autoglym High Performance Tyre Gel doesnt last longer than Meguiar's Endurance Tire Shine Gel, and also Autoglym High Performance Tyre Gel is not shiny as Meguiar's Endurance Tire Shine Gel, then how Autoglym WINS? please explain. I am confused on which one to buy. Thanks for the video though.
At last a review that's informative and simple to understand (and UK) thanx and look forward to seeing others.
if im using a premium tire dressing i need it to last at least through 1 maintence wash.
I know it takes you the time to do these, but it's a real shame not to see the GT Tyre Serum in here.
it didnt exist when I started this test dave.
@@ForensicDetailing thought thatd be the case. Products moving so fast!
Thanks for you hard work, much appreciated.
One you didn’t review was poorboys world from USA,tyre restorer, just for the record it’s little more than coconut fragranced baby oil!!!!,and not particularly cheap.
I like the Optimum's Tire Coating, lasted a good while. But I just "missed" going through the motion of applying a tire dressing after washing my car. My personal favorite is Optimum's Opti-Bond.
Maybe because I’m over the pond but the best for high shine is Meguiers Extreme or Hot Shine spray.
5001st comment “carpro Perl” 😟
John was the one that made me buy PERL, now he doesn't include it in the test 😂😂😂😂
@@dimmacommunication 😂😂
@@fenwick7118 I saw that in the test was included TAC dressing , now I feel a little bit more retarded 🤪
After washing my wheels and tyres I find my tyres are brown. Is their a product that can counteract this effect? I scrub the tyres with a stiff brush but still end up with brown tyres after they dry. I’ve even tried spraying on fallout remover (thinking it was brake dust) and scrubbing and that doesn’t work
Autoglym high performance tire gel is awful imo
Only now come across this video John, but why oh why wasn't VRP on this list by the chemical guys, this stuff is ridiculously good!
I just can’t see by the meguiars tyre stuff even though it does have downsides, I’ve had the turtle wax and the auto finesse but it just doesn’t compare. I feel though with the meguiars it does chuck off some residue on to the wheel over time when you’ve been using the car no matter how careful you are with it. But I do prefer that wet look in general, annoying as I have 2 bottles of auto finesse gathering dust.
Now that you have tried all these products, go get a bottle of WOODOC Penetrating Wax (Blue bottle) and see the result, it works well, try it
How do these compare with CarPro PERL? Would of loved to have seen CarPro PERL in your line up and how it compares
Good vid well done thanks for that, but.... dont you think the one that came second the blue one looks to much like a drink? Perhaps the makers should take a second look for safety reasons, just my opinion.
Thanks John. I always value your reviews
Been using Gyeon Tyre Express the last while, very impressed so far
Sonax looks good after application, but slings like mad and doesnt take too kindly to water exposure at all. Better go for Auto Glym or Meguiars
I was thinking Sateen by CC
Also Perl is good, my go to Is tire gel by meguaires
Primarily been using CarPro PERL. Can apply with an applicator easily, but more importantly can put in an atomizing sprayer for larger tires with textures or off-road tread patterns that are part of the sidewall. Plus it’s water based, so easy cleanup and removal when dressing again. Also testing Adams graphene tire dressing. I know, gimmicky to use graphene in the name. But....so far it’s been quite good.
I use black boot polish last for ages, put on with a shoe brush. use a good quality shoe polish. it makes the Tyres new new.
Have you tried Poorboys bold n bright? Would be good to hear your thoughts on this product. I personally find PB bnb better than all these on test.
I am a detailor i tried more than 15 kinds of tires shine and cleaners...but nothing did best more than vinyle cartec tp49
Ez car care revolution is actually really really good ! Can pick 5l up for £20
I use Armor All, but to get shiny look qnd durability, nothing like Pepsi 😂
Nobody tests these dressings on whitewalls or white tyre lettering. Wish you did. There's a lot of products I cant use because the solvent or silicon dressings damage the white letters.
Unless none solvent may crack tyres. Binned Autoglyms awful
That Korean one looks like a kids drink ,should have a better top or less soft-drink looking packaging.
You should have tried Jenny chem tyre dressing think this would have run the Auto Glym close as the winner.
Maguires for me all day everyday. Lasts long give wet look up and till you wash it again which is enough really.
I like to use meguiar's endurance gel and meguiar's Hot shine tire spray "which looks a bit like Turtle wax wet N black". With a good drying cure (important, the time for the tire to absorb the product!), endurance gel and tire spray have an excellent water-repellent effect !. Good review my friend! 👍 👍 👍
Try mixing Endurance with another Meguair’s product named ‘Hot Shine’ it makes application so much easier and it has great ‘endurance’ too👍🏻
dressing tyres ? the biggest waste of time, money, effort.A completely pointless thing to do.
Apart from a couple, there's a lot much better tyre dressings missing 😏
Does no-one else think tyre dressings look absolute dogs**t I just don't get them clean car yes shiny tyres nope 🤢
i might try out that autoglym, love the packaging.
I carried through a whole bunch of stupid adds today. That's how much I love you Jon ! 😅
this comment prompted me to check. YT had put 3 in video adds in which is too many. I manually removed one. its really wierd the way it does this, sometimes it shovels one in other times ive seen like 6. ridiculous. too many adverts spoil the video so thanks for feeding this back.
@@ForensicDetailing Don't worry , we can always skip... or wait doing something else, knowing it will mean a little money for the youtuber. Here in Martinique I only get local, or american adds on youtube. Not sure you can manage this anyway.... Love you still :P
I would not have thought of autoglym, thanks Jon. When the megs has run out I'll get some.
Personally I prefer Autoglym high-performance tire gel to others
Shiny Garage Back2Black? What do you think about it?
Cover All? Anyone? Use from Superior Products.
Great review. Not too much nonsens and time wasting in the video. To the point
I don't use any tire shine that's thin enough to spray. Shine in a spray bottle isn't hitting on sh't!
I am gonna auto glossy business pls somebody guide how it is possible. Indepted
I've always found autosmart highstyle very good 👍
I have been using the Meguiars one for a long time, but found it to be too sticky and a little difficult to apply. Now, I use the Gyeon Tire one and I think it is better in every way (instead of its price of course)!
Try mixing Endurance with another Meguair’s product named ‘Hot Wheels’ it makes application so much easier and it has great ‘endurance’ too👍🏻
I use dura-coating. Last months, easy to clean, no sling.
Meguiars for me 👍🏽
That Tyson tire is cracking stuff I used it before really impressed. A little pricey but the performance makes it worthwhile
Do you have a link pls
Have you tested koch-chemie's plast star?
Great review from a great guy. Made my day. Funny guy, I like it...
We all know PERL is a great dressing.
It’s very similar to TAC Systems, with it being a water based dressing and also smells very similar too.
looks same smells same costs the same feels the same works the same, same instructions same usage ratios, even used to come in the same bottle and same trigger sprayer (bottle changed now though) :)
@@ForensicDetailing they can’t pull the wool over our eyes 😂
@@HarpersCarDetailing its no secret Tac used to make all the carpro products many years ago but the 2 companies famously parted ways and carpro now formulate in house. but this product seems the same still to me.
