I made them a couple of days ago, I made enough for an army! I used 100% cacao and stevia with the seeds. They taste delicious! My flat mate loves them. They are even better with a thin layer of peanut butter spread onto them. In my next batch (because there will be more), I will add pecans to the seeds and incorporate the peanut butter.

How much stevia or just like sugar did you add? I’m going to use 100% cocoa but unsure about the stevia amount I should add

I made these as well Katy and added peanut butter - some ice cream 🍨 some chocolate sauce and melted a packet of marshmallows on top hahahaha now that’s my type of treat hahs but in all seriousness dr berg wouldn’t suggest peanut butter as peanut butter causes cancer I thought, hence I switched over to pb2 ... I love mr bergs nutrition advice and his wife they are a beautiful informative couple

Cocoa butter has zero carbs, zero sugars and all the fats. If you add tempered organic cocoa butter to unsweetened organic powdered cacao, and some sea salt, you have a chocolate bar, with prob like 1 carb from the cacao powder. Sweeten it with whatever you like.
You just have to melt the cacao butter bain-marie and make sure it doesn't overheat, then add the cacao powder (and any powdered sweetener of your choice, I don't add it b/c I like the taste of cacao) and sprinkle with sea salt (if you want) You can even added a dash of heavy whipping cream straight from the bottle (organic, small farm, grass-fed) and let chill either in fridge or outside which will take longer.

why buy chocolate - just buy kakao (cocoa) powder and mix with coconut oil and butter (perhaps stevia) - put in nuts and seeds (fridge it) and you're golden!

Cacao is not the same as cocoa. Cacao is the unprocessed product from the coco bean, and is healthy for you. Cocoa is refined and processed and should be avoided. You shouldn’t be drinking cocoa
      on keto.

I just made a version of this with what I had on hand; sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, coconut shreds, baker's chocolate, powdered stevia, coconut oil, salt. To another batch I added almond butter. Oh, man, they are so good!!! I added salt to the top and that was better.
I have been putting my nuts and seeds in my salad but will leave them out so as not to eat too many nuts and seeds.

Oh my yumnesss! Going to try these like, yesterday! But I think I will just do the raw cocoa powder, coconut oil, and stevia. Bought some Lilly's the other day and they are slightly on the pricey side, so they are my new emergency chocolates. Will probably throw in some chia, hemp, and nutritional yeast for kicks and giggles.

Between adding lemon water, ACV, and these seeds my body is really responding losing regularly now, plus IF 2 meals 14/15 to 9 10 window right now. 58 total lost.

I made this, tasted yummy but I added 3 tbsp. of zylitol because I like it sweet and it was just right! I melted the zylitol in the hot chocolate while it was melting. We call this "bark".I'd call it Chocolate Seed Bark.

Now that's a good one. I used a milled seed mix (linseed, sunflower, and pumpkin) which to be honest I found it palatable by itself. But the Essence of vanilla really made it something.

I absolutely love these! I've been making them every so often since the recipe came out! I altered the recipe a tiny bit to make it more to my preference, and smaller for the space in my freezer. I first soak my raw seeds in salt water overnight, and then dehydrate about 24 hrs (sometimes less). I use 1 1/2 cups raw sunflower seeds, and 1 1/2 cup raw pepitas (3 cups seeds total). I use 5.40 ounces of Lily's chocolate, 2 TBSP extra virgin coconut oil, 3/4 tsp of organic pure monk fruit powder, 2/3 tsp of pink Himalayan sea salt, and 1 tsp organic vanilla extract, and I do the recipe just like Dr. Berg above. The conversion for his recipe comes out to 4.44 ounces of chocolate per 1 ounce of seeds. Hence, 3 cups seeds equals 5.40 ounces of Lily's chocolate. (I also do 1 TBSP pink Himalayan sea salt in the water per 1 1/2 cups of seeds when soaking them, in case anyone wants to know.) I hope this helps anyone! This recipe is so worth it! I have yet to find a non-keto person who doesn't like them either! Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Berg! You guys are awesome! :)

I have not been able to find any sugar free chocolate... except one brand that would cause me to need to take out a small loan if I used it regularly! So I made a mixture (I won't call it chocolate but it was a close cousin) by melting cacao butter, then adding cacao powder, erythritol, and vanilla. Then I added some coconut oil and mixed in the seeds....lots of guesswork as I didn't measure the chocolate to start with and also put in chia and sesame seeds. Well, it turned out delicious and nutritious. It got the approval of a chocoholic 12 year old boy, so there's my benchmark😊.

Dr. Berg, I love all of your videos & info. Thank you. I have been eating keto for 5 months & my autoimmune disease is in remission! Yay! I have 40-60 lbs to lose, but my scale / measurements haven't budged. Neither gained or lost. I am insulin resistant and have analyzed the carbs in this recipe....Here's my humble question: How is someone who is trying to stay in nutritional ketosis supposed to eat this treat? It is full of carbs. How many does it serve, how well does it store and how much is a serving? Love your work, Donna

This is exactly like my haystack recipe except that I use toasted almonds and coconut. And I make haystacks.
Be careful if you use Lily’s milk chocolate. It has more erythritol and will give you gastro issues. You’re safer with Lily’s semi-sweet or baking chocolate. Unless you need help in that area.
ALSO…you want to temper the chocolate. It usually gets too hot when you melt it, so save some of the chocolate chips. After it has melted, pull it off the burner or out of the microwave (I use a microwave…30 seconds, 20 seconds, then maybe a few more…you be the judge) and add the rest of the chocolate. Stir until it’s all melted. Then stir in the coconut oil, then the rest. Now it can sit at room temperature without melting or messing up your hands.

I like to make my own chocolate with cocoa nibs. Coconut oil. Some erithrytol blend it till it's creamy. Let set. So good

So, this is kind of what I've been looking for in terms of format (how to prepare my chocolate snacks). I have my own ingredients, but now I know what to do!

Great recipe ! For info, the technique for heating the chocolate is called using a “Bain-Marie” gently heating or keeping an ingredient warm in a bath of water. You see, your British cousins have our uses !! 🤣

I just made this ... AMAZING!! I used Go Raw brand sprouted sunflower seeds and added a good amount of cayenne pepper for that chilli chocolate taste 💜 This is a winner and I'll definitely make it again. Great for my vegan mates too!!

Hi Dr. Berg! Nice to see you incorporating coconut oil in the snack recipe. I would suggest using raw sunflower seeds that aren't salted and roasted and just sprinkle on pink Himalayan salt before putting in the freezer. Also there's a wonderful non-dairy brand of chocolate chips to melt called, "Enjoy Life" which I have used on occasion in recipes. Thanks for the idea! You mention to only eat *with* meals, but you're calling it a "snack"? How about dessert?
