I made them a couple of days ago, I made enough for an army! I used 100% cacao and stevia with the seeds. They taste delicious! My flat mate loves them. They are even better with a thin layer of peanut butter spread onto them. In my next batch (because there will be more), I will add pecans to the seeds and incorporate the peanut butter.
I made these as well Katy and added peanut butter - some ice cream 🍨 some chocolate sauce and melted a packet of marshmallows on top hahahaha now that’s my type of treat hahs but in all seriousness dr berg wouldn’t suggest peanut butter as peanut butter causes cancer I thought, hence I switched over to pb2 ... I love mr bergs nutrition advice and his wife they are a beautiful informative couple
Cocoa butter has zero carbs, zero sugars and all the fats. If you add tempered organic cocoa butter to unsweetened organic powdered cacao, and some sea salt, you have a chocolate bar, with prob like 1 carb from the cacao powder. Sweeten it with whatever you like. You just have to melt the cacao butter bain-marie and make sure it doesn't overheat, then add the cacao powder (and any powdered sweetener of your choice, I don't add it b/c I like the taste of cacao) and sprinkle with sea salt (if you want) You can even added a dash of heavy whipping cream straight from the bottle (organic, small farm, grass-fed) and let chill either in fridge or outside which will take longer.
why buy chocolate - just buy kakao (cocoa) powder and mix with coconut oil and butter (perhaps stevia) - put in nuts and seeds (fridge it) and you're golden!
Cacao is not the same as cocoa. Cacao is the unprocessed product from the coco bean, and is healthy for you. Cocoa is refined and processed and should be avoided. You shouldn’t be drinking cocoa on keto.
Omg so good please keep giving recipes.I'm doing the keto lifestyle now and loving it so far I've lost 22 lbs got a long way to go but not giving up,thanks doctor berg.
I am amazed that you manage to get so much material up so quickly. I know how much time it takes to make films and wonder how you manage to get your normal days work done!
I just made a version of this with what I had on hand; sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, coconut shreds, baker's chocolate, powdered stevia, coconut oil, salt. To another batch I added almond butter. Oh, man, they are so good!!! I added salt to the top and that was better. I have been putting my nuts and seeds in my salad but will leave them out so as not to eat too many nuts and seeds.
Just made these... so amazing and healthy.. love.. I cut the recipe in half and added some chia and hemp seeds as part of the mixture.. even some chopped walnuts.
I just made this and it's absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately I did not have room in my freezer for a large sheet pan so since I live in the Northeast and it's winter time, I just put it out on my back porch.....perfect freezer!!
Oh my yumnesss! Going to try these like, yesterday! But I think I will just do the raw cocoa powder, coconut oil, and stevia. Bought some Lilly's the other day and they are slightly on the pricey side, so they are my new emergency chocolates. Will probably throw in some chia, hemp, and nutritional yeast for kicks and giggles.
Going to try, I started having a quarter cup of sunflower seeds a day, and it's so satisfying. or Pepitas (pumpkin , or squash type seed) or mix them. No gastric issues. Between adding lemon water, ACV, and these seeds my body is really responding losing regularly now, plus IF 2 meals 14/15 to 9 10 window right now. 58 total lost.
I made this, tasted yummy but I added 3 tbsp. of zylitol because I like it sweet and it was just right! I melted the zylitol in the hot chocolate while it was melting. We call this "bark".I'd call it Chocolate Seed Bark.
amazing!! great videos! i thought to share a recipe that i found. its called coconut roughs. melt 375 g. of chocolate i use 85% cacao. after the chocolate has melted add two table sp. of coconut oil. or 50 g. of butter. mix it together then add two cups of coconut. mix it all together. then on a cookie sheet add a table sp. of the coconut roughs like drops and smooth them out. then fridge for 20 min. and enjoy. give it a try dr. Berg. make a video if you like.
I make my own chocolate bars with bakers chocolate, coca butter, coconut oil, salt, vanilla, monk fruit, stevia, and erythritol. Then pour them in a mold.... I use them for all my baking and fat bomb needs. Great recipe! I’m gonna make this!
I don't have teeth so I put the seeds (about 1 cup) and about a tbsp of 100% cacao powder and I like 2 thia chilli peppers in my nutribullet. I grind it a couple of seconds to a crumble eat it with a spoon. It keeps me satisfied for a few hours or even overnight.
Now that's a good one. I used a milled seed mix (linseed, sunflower, and pumpkin) which to be honest I found it palatable by itself. But the Essence of vanilla really made it something.
I made these with 5 cups of seeds and that was too many seeds for me, and too thick when broken apart. I made them again with 3 1/2 cups of seeds and the pieces are much thinner when broken apart. Love them this way!
I absolutely love these! I've been making them every so often since the recipe came out! I altered the recipe a tiny bit to make it more to my preference, and smaller for the space in my freezer. I first soak my raw seeds in salt water overnight, and then dehydrate about 24 hrs (sometimes less). I use 1 1/2 cups raw sunflower seeds, and 1 1/2 cup raw pepitas (3 cups seeds total). I use 5.40 ounces of Lily's chocolate, 2 TBSP extra virgin coconut oil, 3/4 tsp of organic pure monk fruit powder, 2/3 tsp of pink Himalayan sea salt, and 1 tsp organic vanilla extract, and I do the recipe just like Dr. Berg above. The conversion for his recipe comes out to 4.44 ounces of chocolate per 1 ounce of seeds. Hence, 3 cups seeds equals 5.40 ounces of Lily's chocolate. (I also do 1 TBSP pink Himalayan sea salt in the water per 1 1/2 cups of seeds when soaking them, in case anyone wants to know.) I hope this helps anyone! This recipe is so worth it! I have yet to find a non-keto person who doesn't like them either! Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Berg! You guys are awesome! :)

thats a great idea and a much better alternative to nuts. i hadnt thought about using seeds. i tend to over eat my homemade chocolate covered nuts but doing it this way i can satisfy mu chocolate craving without over doing it.
Thanx for the amazing idea. I presoaked my seeds before adding the melted chocolate them. The soaked seeds and chocolate combination very much enhanced the flavour as compared to raw seeds.
I have a section in my notes for your recipes; keep them coming! I was looking at an old grocery list, with its rice, beans, pastas, and am feeling the freedom from this heavy anchor.
Just made them. Best keto snack ever! It should come with a warning- you need to able to stop yourself after eating a small piece, and that's not easy at all :-)
Thank you Dr Berg after seeing your video I went straight to the shops and bought the ingredients to make my chocolate seed treats. Oh Wow so easy to make and soooo delicious 😋
Yum, just made these, really good! Quick, easy. Everyone loves them so I keep a stash in the cupboard to offer when we have company or I just need a treat. They are quite filling. I make little flat bars in silicone moulds. They only need to go into the refrigerator for 5-10 min and they pop out of the moulds really easy.
Really exited to try this, I have been having a little anxiety about the upcoming holidays including Halloween and maybe slipping on the life change diet that I started at the beginning of Sept. This along with the other recipes will allow me to bring treats with me without falling off the wagon. Thanks!
Absolutely delicious snack. I couldn’t believe how easy it is to make. Completely satisfies my need for a bit of comfort food and ……. It’s neither fattening nor spiked blood sugars. Many thanks again Dr Eric for another great tip that’s wholesome and nutritious!!!
Just put your seeds on some wax paper in a small baking pan .Put your favorite dark chocolate bars on top .Pop ina low heat oven ,melt and then let it cool . That's how I used to make mine .
Bernie Bop Did you make this?? I'm so curious.. because I'm on keto but I have hypothyroidism and dealing with adrenal fatigue right now but I love seeds and I love chocolate but not too much of everything so I was wondering did you or did anybody ever make this it looks amazing
Thank you from a huge chocolate lover !! I will be making this!! Just the right thing when you need a little chocolate and something you feel you are cheating without the cheat!!!
This is exactly like my haystack recipe except that I use toasted almonds and coconut. And I make haystacks. Be careful if you use Lily’s milk chocolate. It has more erythritol and will give you gastro issues. You’re safer with Lily’s semi-sweet or baking chocolate. Unless you need help in that area. ALSO…you want to temper the chocolate. It usually gets too hot when you melt it, so save some of the chocolate chips. After it has melted, pull it off the burner or out of the microwave (I use a microwave…30 seconds, 20 seconds, then maybe a few more…you be the judge) and add the rest of the chocolate. Stir until it’s all melted. Then stir in the coconut oil, then the rest. Now it can sit at room temperature without melting or messing up your hands.
So, this is kind of what I've been looking for in terms of format (how to prepare my chocolate snacks). I have my own ingredients, but now I know what to do!
Great recipe ! For info, the technique for heating the chocolate is called using a “Bain-Marie” gently heating or keeping an ingredient warm in a bath of water. You see, your British cousins have our uses !! 🤣
I just made this ... AMAZING!! I used Go Raw brand sprouted sunflower seeds and added a good amount of cayenne pepper for that chilli chocolate taste 💜 This is a winner and I'll definitely make it again. Great for my vegan mates too!!
Thank you Dr Berg you given me these knowlege and nutrients that help me to mdke changes in health and life. And all these lovely recipes that you and Karen taught us is something new to learn. Thanks to you both. Blessing.
Hi Dr. Berg! Nice to see you incorporating coconut oil in the snack recipe. I would suggest using raw sunflower seeds that aren't salted and roasted and just sprinkle on pink Himalayan salt before putting in the freezer. Also there's a wonderful non-dairy brand of chocolate chips to melt called, "Enjoy Life" which I have used on occasion in recipes. Thanks for the idea! You mention to only eat *with* meals, but you're calling it a "snack"? How about dessert?
I made them a couple of days ago, I made enough for an army! I used 100% cacao and stevia with the seeds. They taste delicious! My flat mate loves them. Katy Laurent I like the way you think!
Jody Tupper Me too! That sounds delish.
Katy Laurent I just made this with pecans and its amazing
How much stevia or just like sugar did you add? I’m going to use 100% cocoa but unsure about the stevia amount I should add
I tried his last night. I added some Ghee, flax seeds and chia seeds to the mix as well but it came out great. Thanks again for the great recipe.
Thats the way..you cacao with the ghee
Thats perfect!

Yea. I prefer to buy cocoa powder. It's so yummy and I can even make drinks with it.
Yea, not made of money over here! I still have unsweetened coco powder & coconut oil from his fat bomb recipe.
How do you know how much coco powder & coconut oil to use, please.
Cacao is not the same as cocoa. Cacao is the unprocessed product from the coco bean, and is healthy for you. Cocoa is refined and processed and should be avoided. You shouldn’t be drinking cocoa

Tried this today, love it! (i don't like things too sweet) and it didn't really taste too bitter either for dark chocolate! Thanks Dr Berg 😀
The sound of mixing is so satisfying
You are not the type of people who only talk. I mean look at you are incredible. You are creative.
Need to make these recipes printable so we can print them off and enjoy them! A video is great but if we can have it on paper too, would be awesome!

its called coconut roughs.

*Nearly 3 years later, & I'm just now seeing this. THAT would definitely hit the spot, when craving sweet, OR salty!! TYVM.* 👍😁👍😁👍😁👍😁👍😁👍😁
I am going to try this and add chia seeds as well.
Dry roasted quinoa will work well also.
Garland N ..... do you cook the quinoa first? Thx
just rinse and sprout. Cooked is good too.
Bernie Bop Did you make this?? I'm so curious.. because I'm on keto but I have hypothyroidism and dealing with adrenal fatigue right now but I love seeds and I love chocolate but not too much of everything so I was wondering did you or did anybody ever make this it looks amazing
That's a great idea. I'm going to put in a little chia also. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you from a huge chocolate lover !! I will be making this!! Just the right thing when you need a little chocolate and something you feel you are cheating without the cheat!!!
You can also take a .make a pesto of mint leaves and add in..and very healthy
I like to make my own chocolate with cocoa nibs. Coconut oil. Some erithrytol blend it till it's creamy. Let set. So good
So, this is kind of what I've been looking for in terms of format (how to prepare my chocolate snacks). I have my own ingredients, but now I know what to do!
I’ll add peanut or almond butter as a variation. Thank you for the recipe.
How much did you add?
Love the ease of this recipe.

Great recipe ! For info, the technique for heating the chocolate is called using a “Bain-Marie” gently heating or keeping an ingredient warm in a bath of water. You see, your British cousins have our uses !! 🤣
I just found this and I have ALL these ingredients now!!!! Making it!!!

ONLY at the meal - not inbetween:)

I thought we weren't supposed to have snacks? lol
I just made this ... AMAZING!! I used Go Raw brand sprouted sunflower seeds and added a good amount of cayenne pepper for that chilli chocolate taste 💜 This is a winner and I'll definitely make it again. Great for my vegan mates too!!
Thank you! This was a great, straight to the point video!
Thanks so much!
Definitely making this tomorrow. My oven is broke so I can't make my favorite 4 seed cracker but this will be a seed snack that I don't have to bake.

Dr Berg you make Keto so delicious
I made this today. It is really good. I can't stop eating. :P Thank you Dr. Berg
Hi Dr.
I did the same. Seeds with no salt but then added sea salt
Imma make it for my daughter to take to school as snacks. Its gotta be better than supermarket cookies😅
