"Coming Undone" from Korn's "See You on the Other Side" album (2005).
The official isolated bass track is up on UA-cam and it is VERY different from the tabs you'll find online. So I felt like I had to step in and at least show the correct way to play this. I know that Fieldy doesn't play the pre-chorus this way anymore, but we're talking about the studio version here. He just stays low in this song. No slaps, no bridge cable tone, nothing. It's not the most exciting Korn song out there when it comes to the basslines, but yeah.. it's something. Good a good exercise for those who are still learning how to mute.
Some important information that nobody is going to read.
Tuning : A-D-G-C-F
Artist : Korn
Bassist : Fieldy
Album : See You on the Other Side (2005)
Song : COMING UNDONE
Bass : Warwick GPS Corvette 5A Ash
Damn, I hope Fieldy didn’t hurt himself when he wrote the bassline in this.
I think I read somewhere that this bassline was the cause of many headaches
Fieldy gets a lot of shit for being overly simplistic or rudimentary with his basslines, but he usually just plays exactly what serves the song the best. With this type of music, he's definitely much more concentrated on groove and funk than complexity, which is what this song needs. A super flashy bassline would have sounded out of place on such a grooving song. I mean, I i get it, because even by Korn standards, this is pretty simple and straightforward, but it gives the song the backbone and foundation that it needs. It's not just about how many notes a player can play, but knowing what to play and when that is the most important thing to learn.
Yeah I mean, some of the best songs in the world could have the most boring basslines ever. I believe that bass mainly has one purpose which is to be that backbone along with the drums. And sometimes the bass can punch through for a bit, that is fine. So yeah I agree with you
Good work man! Never disappoint. Wanna feel brave and try and tab "Conspironia" by primus. 😂
Absolutely love this song! Great cover as per usual. (:
Thanks as always :)
great work as always
Thanks again!
Amazing Leo, can you do Where The Slime Live by Morbid Angel?
Dammit! I'm not buying a 5-string for a song that only uses one! I'll just use my bass whammy instead.
Might as well buy a 1 string bass and tune it to a low A!
@@LeoBassCovers2 I'll make a Seasick Steve style bass diddley bow!
You can always do drop B tuning if you have a 4 string.
Great, love your work! thanks for the tabs and your awesome play!
P.s. When you are tuning your 5-string bass and using only one string!
No problem! And yeah.. might as well put A-E-A-D-G on there..
Wonderful, subscribed! Can you please cover Here to Stay or Blind?
Thanks for the sub! I will actually release a cover of Blind later this month :)
