    Chat - I have made a mistake. I've had the game for so long on steam that my brain farted and thought it was free with the dlcs on the side for money. That is apparently not true. This is a big screw up and I feel super bad about it. The base version is free from the devs website but not on steam, much like TOME. Not sure what wires got crossed but that's on me ----> sorry about that. :(

    • @ssdrbx6180
      @ssdrbx6180 Рік тому +5

      no problem lol, I wonder why they don't just put the free version as demo on steam, this can solve the confusion

    • @Anomynous
      @Anomynous Рік тому +6

      If you want to be on steam you have to pay steam.... It does make their game more visible and I do like the central storage and updates from steam. So meh bought it

    • @nazaxprime
      @nazaxprime Рік тому +1

      @@AnomynousNo doubt it's worth the scratch anyhow, and as a game manager, I agree with purchasing it. I do like the idea of vanilla posting as a demo, like what Delta V Rings of Saturn did so Ukraninans could get it free, and everyone else as a consequence. Us indies don't need billions. I for one am much too busy but I will start posting projects for donations and then once ready for steam I'll be taking the demo being the base game with the full game also being sold and add-ons or expansions for sale as well so packages can be put together for discount sales as well.
      Now if only I could stop being a trucker long enough to put more things in motion instead of just spinning design plates and infinitum.

    This is such a fun game. To be fair, I also love the modding scene that grew alongside the creator of this game. My favorite is the Playership Drones mod by PM. Nothing feels more satisfying than plundering the hull of the Kronosaur that was sent to unalive you, then turning it into our very own mobile packmule and heavy frigate escort while you're still zipping around in the tiny Wolfen gunship.

    • @commode7x
      @commode7x Рік тому +3

      Playership Drones is the core mod to have. Keeping your own personal fleet parked in a system is both convenient and fun when pirates fly in and get vaporized by the full might and power of the player's navy.

    Glad to have you back. I’m prob around your age and always enjoy your references. Cracks me up when you talk fondly of the 90s and early 2000’s. It’s great when I hear your stories and I remember having the same experiences. You said you were thinking of where and more importantly what direction your life is headed. I’ve been watching your UA-cam videos for the past couple years now and have seen all your older videos as well as playlists. You’ve been entertaining me after finishing work and can relax a bit. I know you have some very thankful watchers such as myself so I just wanted to thank you. I know you also don’t have advertisers on your channel, but I think what you do is a service and a lot of work. I honestly wouldn’t mind if you did have sponsors/advertisers since it is only a small portion of the videos and of all the channels I do watch you deserve to be properly compensated. I know it’s prob not just finances that you might be dwelling on at the moment, but to me you deserve to not only make content you enjoy, you should be given an opportunity to have some help in delivering your content. You should be rolling in it in my opinion lol and to be able to maybe have some editing help or assistance in gaming research and anything else making content entails. Maybe that would enable you to have the time to do anything else you enjoy in your life. I know this is a long comment but I really wanted to thank you and I will be watching and supporting whatever you choose to release on your channel. I hope you will be as happy and content as I am watching your videos.

    one of the things that makes many games possible is conflict, death, and destruction. This is also part of what makes video games fun as you get to enjoy destruction and such in a way that doesn't cause any legal damage. it's a video game. it is far more difficult to design a "video game" where everyone has to live in peace. This normally means giving the player the literal power to terraform the land, all of it.

    I remember this one. Biggest issue was the fact that there were issues with the save file. If it reaches a certain size, like if you decided to slowly and painstakingly explore the cosmos on your way to the "end" of the game, the game will fail to load it, and it will crash unless you manage to delete alot of blown up space stations, ships, and stored items.
    This happens at about 30%-60% the way through your journey most of the time. If you play it light and fast, you'll make it to the end without your save file being incapable of being loaded by the game. No idea if this was ever corrected, but if it was, I'd be more than willing to put my money into it for the expansion packs.
    In regards to specific things for your playthrough, pirates will attack targets that are not allied to them. Some of those transports that the pirates don't attack are smuggler ships, which will not make the system's constabulary hostile when you attack them, and will also be carrying illegal goods for that system.
    A good tactic is to blow up a pirate station and use its carcass as a place to store items like extra fuel or random damaged items that you can sell to tinkers.
    When you run out of fuel, a timer appears that counts down until your life support system runs out of power and you die.
    Any utility equipment labeled External like the armor repair spider is capable of being damaged when you get hit with shields down, so it is recommended to not take damage while it's equipped.

    As far as I understood from the review I read; the DLC's came out a long time ago (the review I read is from 2015 and that says that the Steam version has all the DLC's already) so I'm wondering if there will be more official adventures/DLC if there hasn't been any new ones for a long time. The game looks alright either way =)

      Why would Splat play a game that is a total scam?

      1. It's a scam. 2. It's not an indie game. 3. Having raised over half a billion dollars from rubes by selling pictures of ships, it has no incentive to ever be more than that.

      @@lifetime05 I have seen him playing Triple A games before. Some people say it's a scam many say it's not. No harm in trying it on the Free Fly event and hearing his opinion.

    Played it back in the day. I remember being disappointed I couldn't buy newer ships and switch to them. Seems to be the same.

    Single player dark orbit, i like it. Wonder why it took so long to develop, but if its good then worth it

    I like the idea of crafting your ship up to be unique with mods and buffs. Or the programs that can cause I guess like imbuements. But 20 years you say? Where have I been? To young I suppose even though I feel aancient.
