Question for you - How important are basketball shoes to you? Do you think running shoes are ok to use? And also, do you lean towards the low top light weight shoes? Thanks
I'm genuinely curious about this. I am around 5'4/5'5 and I have touched the net before but barely. Is it possible to increase my vertical so much to the point of me being able to touch rim?
If you consistently put in the work, you’ll be able to increase your vertical. I’m not sure about dunking, but I think you’ll be able to touch rim. If you’re still a kid, then you’re probably grow another couple inches, so that’ll also help
@@alexdoig3838 I'll be 17 in around 5 months and my dad is only 5'7. And I've always been jealous of all my friends, they're all around 6' or slightly taller and can touch rim

Lift weights, do sprints/interval training, box jumps and practice technique. Yeah that’s what I would think. Good reminder. I used to do all of that but I could never quite dunk. I got really close though i could touch rim and everything; not everybody is cut out to be a dunker but hard work does help either way.
No its not you can train your muscles your to be type a, type b1 or type b2 doesnt matter just takes longer but yes genetics can make it impossible by not being able to build enough muscle to generate force needed to dunk

@@hammy1463 I’m 6’ 3” and I was 240 lbs in these videos!
Will it work for a 47 year old? 🤔😳
@@SamWelsh you are not 6'3
@@SamWelsh and point 5. Dont forget to use low rims and camera angles to make it seem like your head at the rim
Dam anyone else see that one sided form on that squat? Shit looked uncomfortable af
Bro I came here looking for this comment and I found it right away.
One sided squat hurt my back
The first squat right ?
Yea he got a muscle imbalance
Partial range of motion squats are great too. They train at the specifics angles you jump at (where you produce the most force)
I don’t even play basketball but I want to jump this high. Watching lots of shorts about this 😂
Finally an actual short on jumping higher, not these “just do these plyos” type of videos

wht wokrouts did you do and how consstenly
Thank you so much I needed this. You just earned a sub
I would mention that max intent running vertical is the best exercise for dunking, better than box jump
jump like Superman
Awesome video man! First person to like this video!👍💯
“Hit some calf raises bro!” -Ja Morant
Option B. streaming from your couch is mad easy
Thx
This is all very true and how I train; but idk if that rim was 10 feet. Nice dunk either way
well apparently he’s 6’3” so likely, plus it doesn’t look adjustable
Sprinting especially it has a huge correlation to vertical
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ facts
Thank you
Great video
Fire 🔥.
Thank you so much
Thank you brother 👍🫡
Awesome
"Train full range of motion to get the most out of your legs." Literally did a quarter squat one second ago🤣
heavy quarter squats r far more important than full range squats for jumping but I get the irony in your comment 😆 🤣

Hey, if my dunk days are saturdays, which days should I lift and which days should I rest?
Sir my height was 5'8 and I love spiking in volleyball and I want to increase my jump so can me give me some tips to increase my vertical jump
Do u have volleyball techniques
Great, after three weeks of training, I can finally jump out of this swimming pool I'm trapped in.
How tall is he? I’m 5’7 or 5’8 and I have hops but he can flyyyy lol
Same 😂
6’2 im pretty sure

You can improve jump height by a few inches. But it's mostly genetics and fast twitch fiber that you were born with.
Oh man! You jumped 9'2" in the second video!
Bro be dunking on the 7 foot
Thank fir making a video of this because I loses my bunny’s/ hops
The last key thing that you need. You gotta be at least 6’5
u gotta be 6’5 to maximize ur vertical? that makes sense
@Sad titan it’s a joke
@A K u need like a 36 in vert so it’d be pretty difficult for those who have bad genetics or don’t practice dunking
@A K ur using ur opinion i’m literally stating a fact if ur vert needs to be above average than it is technically “difficult”
@A K in other words we’re black so it’s gonna be easy for us lmao but not as easy for everyone else
What about plyometric workouts as well?
That’s what big jumps are
What about nutrition and recovery you can’t just press the gas full throttle and expect to recover.
Protein shakes rest and time
Yes very important!

Plyometrics also help

I can’t go to the gym but I have a 16inch box to jump on. Is that still effective for plyo or nah ?
You don't need a box. If you're training for basketball learning to tuck jump isn't as important. Just substitute with regular plyo jumps
The box doesn't have to be hight it to lower the forces when you hit the ground
Bro is toying with angles
Parkore!
This man is jumping outta the gym
Can you teach me to be 6'3?
Can i dunk with height 169cm/5'6 tall?
