Just GENIUS. A true comic - timing, content, spontanaety, stage presence, control, spotlessly rehearsed, instant audience engagement, totally relatable.
We wont see his like again
    Respect and god bless

Yeah, John I agree... Barry did give us many laughs..... (When it was legal to do so.) No doubt the whingers and moaners will be out celebrating his demise....
The sad thing is... they have no idea what they are celebrating...because they have nothing but bitterness and acrimony in their arsenal.
The weird thing is... they loved Lily Savage... but hated the characters of Barry Humphries.
I thought both were brilliant at what they did: Where's the problem? Where is the tolerance?

I think what makes this man a comedic genius is his timing and delivery. No-one else could do those jokes like he does. Also a shame we are so woke now that you would get arrested if you used his turn of phrase. Can’t remember when I last heard the word poofter. UA-cam doesn’t even recognise the word.

@@staticcentrehalf7166 I am all for thoughtfulness and tolerance, especially when it comes to religion, race and identity, but I do worry that we will end up constantly walking on egg shells and anyone who dares to transgress will be burnt at the stake. Most adult humour is at the expense of someone or something else. I don't know where the line is or should be, but I found the interview very funny. Does that make me a bad person? No, I don't think so.

Barry himself called it “new Puritanism” and he was certainly correct. People have forgotten how laughing at things takes it’s power away.

Fortunately, Sir Les obviously sobered up for this public appearance. When he had a few drinks on-board he could be rather indelicate and, sometimes, even politically-incorrect.

I agree...I find his humour in the kind of realm of Peter Cook... An early observational humour: Say what you see: Take the piss out of it!
See people through a different eye. And point out those differences to a slightly befuddled world....
