Totally agree. that reminds me of an interview with Pat Phoenix & Jim Davidson had gone before & PP was telling a story of her thoughts on suicide & he interrupted with a joke & completely broke the rhythm of her story. She was gracious & he remained silent after that.
He probably had no idea what was being said, both Parkinson and Gervais have quite strong accents and when this interview took place, he probably hadn't been working in English all that long.
I reckon he understood half of what they were bantering on. I would’ve been lost as well if I was on that stage in Spain! Although credit is due to Antonio for his six years living in the UK and working in the United States making some fine Works of art. One of the best actors to come out of Spain definitely
I saw Bill Burr interviewed & he made me laugh about once & half....& I absolutely love Bill Burr doing his stand-up. Ricky's just naturally incredibly witty.
Michael Parkinson was the master ,you know you’ve made it when you appear on his show ….Ricky Gervais is ridiculously hilarious 😂😂, nice one ‘Parky’❤😂…… I have to mention my fav Parkinson was with Stephen Fry and Robin Williams ….. absolute comedy madness 😂😂
He actually remind me of the singer/songwriter/producer Aurora. A bit strange comparison I know, but, they both say, I will do it my way or not at all. And all the more power to them. That's what making them one of a kind.
Graham and Chatty worked out the formula of interviewing several guests at same time, without being awkward. Antonio is just sitting there. Parky, Wogan and Ross are great too.
Ricky is a bloke you can have a pint with and can debate his beliefs with the likes of Jordan Peterson...... he is a legend who stands up for true freedom
@lovatocrvero742 That's ok. But then you must research 60s, 70s, 80s music as well. It's the best music era and it won't ever be matched. There will be many you have not heard of in every music genre.
Love Ricky, but what stands out above everything here is the fact he’s willing to mention Steve Merchant no problem. Why that I stopped I will never understand
@@outlander234Ricky never, ever mentions Steve. During the years when they collaborated, sure, but since then he’s never even referred to Steve during interviews regarding the Office and Extras. He talks about the creation and development as a singular creation made by him. I think it’s strange as it is sad. Judging Ricky’s later work, Steve clearly had the stronger talent for writing too.
I love how good an interviewer Michael Parkinson was.
I've never seen him before, but I like the fact that he didn't interrupt his guest.
Credit to Antonio, who remained respectfully silent, not drawing attention to himself once while Ricky held forth!

He's gorgeous!😅
Could have put a shirt and jacket on though!

Lazyness.
@@martincaz7772Yeah just like your comment! 🤦♂️
Ricky is a GENIUS! Living person I would most like to spend time with. Everything he says is so REAL (and FUNNY)
I see Ricky as a National Treasure. What an extraordinarily based man. 🎉🎉
Intelligent, honest, funny, what's not to love about Ricky?
My dream man until I found out just recently that Paul McCartney has a killer sense of humor, so……
It's called class. Very few have it.

I fancy Ricky😂

But do you fancy him guiltily, secretly?
Don't get it everybody knows what I fancy.
Shameful
You mean his bank balance.
Additional character for your book
: the BALR. He eats cheese, drinks red wine, occasionally plays tennis and loves David Bowie

I fancy Ricky - Diana ❤️
Even 2004 was much more normal.than 2024..lets go back..ffs
It even looks as if it were in the 90's or something, SO far away from where we are now.
Let's go back to the 70s or 80s
Nah fuck going back to 80s that’s too far
@@mattoniy2840 music became shit after around 95'.
Genius.

Yeh, Bucky comes from a long line of Guntz.....LMAO
Ricky is a bloke you can have a pint with and can debate his beliefs with the likes of Jordan Peterson...... he is a legend who stands up for true freedom
They were called celebrities back then, now they are called super stars. How strange the world is today.
They both make it look so easy..
22 years ago? Wow I used to watch this show
When was this interview??
I don't know who the old guy is, but he was sharp as a knife.
Parkinson. His dhow had the same name. He interview alot of interesting people. Oliver Reed, mohammed Ali, Alec Guinness.
i cant get Les Dennis' offal out my head now
His name is Parkinson? Was Parkinson name after someone in his family or smth😂 thats the first thing I thought when I saw Parkinson😂😅😅
He was one of the most famous interviewers on the planet.....since the 70s.
@creativesource3514 70s makes sense, that's why I haven't heard of him lol no offense to him but I just haven't so

Was this in 2002?
Close! 2004
Who is Bucky Ghunts?
Brent "Bucky" Gunts is a multiple Emmy-winning sports television director currently serving as Head of Production for NBC Olympics.
Actually Ricky, your idol David Bowie as a young guy also he just wanted to be famous but wasn't sure how.
Is he aving a Laff?
Why was Antonio there?
He'd been interviewed before Ricky came along.
I don't..!
I love Ricky...but with facial hair,he looks like a woman when he is clean shaven...but he is hilariously funny.❤❤❤❤❤
Ricky is cool as. Would love to meet him but not come across as a fan boy.
Laughing machines are so obvious and irritating
Ricky pushed the sticky. Don’t forget.
Ricky looked like piers Morgan when he was young
Michael Parkinbum
Before Ricky became everything he once detested
Party is pissed
This is very old!!
One of the few times you’ll see ever Ricky credit Stephen Merchant, back when he had character …instead of the delusional narcissist we have today
Diddums. Bless, sore anus?
When did he not credit him? Also he is the star of both Office and Extras, forget writting and directing, without him those shows dont exist.
@@shreked6800 Shush you minge.
actually if you don’t write a show you have no one to act in it dumbass
