    Just received my sync quad. Have had MEATER since launch but always had problems with probes overheating, losing connection and now they have given up the ghost. Really looking forward to using the new probes. Great review by the way, thanks 🙏

      Thank you so much, Typhur makes an excellent set of thermometers.

    Another excellent presentation. Ordered this now after a Hone sharpener. Your salesmanship is addicting!

      You are so correct about this unit, after receiving this I found this unit synced up faster and more simple than any device I’ve ever synced. My last wired probes were such a pain that the instructions came out just to set up each time and set a poor mood for the smoke for the duration.

      @@bremboflyif my folks in their 70’a and who are NOT technical can use it easily that says a lot. I have used and tested many devices and none were this simple to use. They nailed every facet of this and most people in a kitchen (avg folks) do not necessarily want to carry around a cell phone to see temperatures. I don’t use my phone at all in my kitchen now as I am cooking the whole times. Satisfies both needs very well.

    Excellent video. I have a Typhur Sync and I love it! I gave away my Meater block, and my other wireless thermometer never gets used anymore.

      I got rid of all my others. This definitely is the cream of the crop in my opinion and the fact my non-technical folks can use it without calling me every 5 minutes like the other brands caused them to do is fantastic!😂

    bought the Meater 2, really liked it, but after seeing this video bought the Typhur with a $100 coupon from Amazon. Really like the thinner probe, but I guess it's just a small detail against all of the features the Typhur has. Should I stick to the Meater or is this a good decision? Loved your content, btw!!!

      @@vicsantos97 thanks for watching. The Typhur is really fantastic. I think you need to make your own decison. If it’s an “oldl Meater the Typhur is far superior. I just got news that ThermoWorks is releasing their new wireless probe which I should hopefully be getting to do a review. Everything Thermoworks is top notch and they don’t release anything not fully vetted. The features and algorithm Typhur has is extremely accurate.

      Best I have ever had and used. Had Meater and The MeatStick. This is head and shoulders better in many ways. No doubts you will love using it if you cook as much as I do, and it works great under water in sous vide and deep frying under oil.

    How accurate are the ambient temp sensors? This is my main concern regarding this product as I’ve heard other brands ambient sensors can be inaccurate.

    • @UkuleleJayBBQ
      @UkuleleJayBBQ  9 місяців тому +3

      I think it was very accurate as I set the ambient to what the thermometer said and NOT my dial on the cooker. Then I knew the temp right up against the food. Cold food right out of the fridge throws off ambient temps as the cold (until it warms up) will cause the sensor to read low for a bit. However I have placed probes in the same areas (almost touching but not touching) indicated exactly the same. Same with the internal sensors. This is also real time when my other probes from other companies are very lagged and if something is increasing imor decreasing it jumps. This is accurate to +/- .5 (half a degree).

    • @waymor2460
      @waymor2460 5 місяців тому +2

      @@UkuleleJayBBQ That’s my concern as well. The ambient temp is really important when cooking at low temps. That half degree +- is only for the internal temp. According to the specs the ambient temp accuracy is +-9*F. From what I’ve seen that’s about middle of the pack for most wireless thermometers. Because of all the other features I’ll probably get the Typhur and back it up with my wired probe to see if it runs hot or cold. Would be nice if the probes could be calibrated.

    • @UkuleleJayBBQ
      @UkuleleJayBBQ  5 місяців тому

      @@waymor2460 the temp sensors are all +/- .5. Where did you see 9° variation? In my smokers I use the Thermoworks X4 or Signals for up to 4 ambient temp probes I can put on different levels and areas and it’s dead on. The sync nails when to pull the food and tells you the rest which is fantastic. Nothing is perfect but for the best features all around and most rock solid blue tooth and even better wi-fi, it’s fantastic.

      @@UkuleleJayBBQ “Accuracy
      Internal ±0.5°F / 0.3°C from 104°F - 212°F / 40°C-100°C
      Ambient ±9°F / 5°C”
      That’s copied from the Typhur website. I just saw the comment from someone who had issues with the ambient temp accuracy being off by 30 or so degrees. In your experience has the Typhur ambient temp accuracy been backed up by other wired thermometer? Thanks.

    • @UkuleleJayBBQ
      @UkuleleJayBBQ  5 місяців тому

      @@waymor2460 Hi there, oh I see. Well I always rely on my Thermoworks for my ambient temps and the ambient temp of the Sync has been +/- 1 to 1.5 degrees within it's temp and for anthing under 5 degrres to me it really doesn't matter.

  • @yambor44
    @yambor44 9 місяців тому +1

    Cam the ambient temp on the meat probes be calibrated? Mine are both 40+ degrees F off (too low). Thanks! Also, I have the same firmware as you and my probes do not show the same as yours. I cannot get to the screen that shows the probe and each temp along the probe. Strange.

    • @UkuleleJayBBQ
      @UkuleleJayBBQ  9 місяців тому +1

      So did you update the app this week. It wasn’t a firmware update but software. My screen tonight shows all sensors real time to the 100th of a degree (103.56°) type reading. Are you certain on 40° off? What are you cooking in? Remember the thermometer on the outside dial thermometers are not even close to actual temp right next to the meat in many cases. Curious on your set up. If you have Instagram, DM me @ukulelejaybbq and I can show you what your screen should look like. My ambient temps I trust as I have always adjusted to that at not a dial thermometer. Also checked temp with another ambient wired thermometer (high end) and it was near identical right up against the meat.

      @@UkuleleJayBBQ I was cooking prime rib with a probe in each end. I was using a Lone Star 42” pellet grill running at 250°. I did place a DOT thermo probe close to one end of the meat and it, the dial thermometer in the lid and the digital readout on the pit were all within a few degrees of each other (the set temp of 250°). The ambient temp readout on each probe by the end of the cook got within 33° on one and 28° on the other, both still reading low. I placed a call to the number for tech support from their website and was called back within an hour or so. She told me to email the pics I have and they would send me a new one. I was just getting ready to serve our party guests so I told her I would do that later on. I will do that today (next day).

      @@yambor44 yes something sounds off. Glad their support is taking care of you. So far mine have been very accurate. Hope the prime rib came out good. I love a nice rare/med rare prime rib with a nice salt crust! Let me know please if your new ones are good. Most important thing to me is if you have a problem, a company takes care of you without hassle. Sounds like they are which is great to hear!
      I have a Lone Star offset, great smoker! Saw they were doing pellets now. Very cool.
