It amazes me how you suffer through so much pain and nausea every day, but still, keep a positive attitude! Before I discovered your channel I had no idea how much work it takes to care for someone with such a severe illness. It really is a full-time job! You're so amazing for being able to still enjoy life even though you have been through so much pain and suffering.

Shout out to the gorgeous tech/nurse who took you back to imaging. Such a doll. Secondly, holy cow girl! As I understand it for button changes they usually can do it in clinic or at home. But full tube changes most folks go under for that. Or at least twilight meds. lol. You r a rock star!! You go Amy!

I guess I was wondering how it works for her, who has quite a bit going on. Would medicare pay for all her medication and supplies too? I know I have to pay for medication still with medicare. Would be interesting to learn more about our system and how much she relying on medicare vs private insurance vs govt benefits

I've just started watching your videos and I'm so glad that you're documenting your life for others to learn from. I started watching your videos because I saw a thumbnail of you with what I now know was a ng or nj feeding tube; I was curious because I met a girl in my second year of uni who had one and I never got close enough with her to ask her about it (I didn't want to be rude and question her either, even if we had gotten close). She had to drop out and postpone her degree because of her illness and I never got to speak with her again, but I'm glad I now know what she needed it for and how she probably struggled with illness during school. Thanks again for just showing us your daily life and allowing me to become more educated on how you live with your illness on a daily basis

I've had a lifetime of medical issues as well because I was born without a urethra. (Over 15 major abdominal surgeries at this point I think.) I'm new to your channel and understand the kind of strength you have to have to put up with all the medical stuff on a day to day basis. Just wanted to say thank you for posting these videos. Great video, thank you Amy! My son is 7, he has complex additional needs. Wheelchair bound, non verbal.. the list is endless. He has a Jej, as he can’t tolerate anything at all in his stomach. Its so interesting to hear you explain how it feels having a change. My son can’t tell us, he just lays there and lets them crack on with it. He’s had 7 changes in the last 2 months as his balloon just keeps popping, which is so infuriating!! Changes are so different here, it’s all done in X-ray, they thread a wire in the original one like they did to you, then X-ray, then remove the old, X-ray to ensure the wires still in the right place, then thread the new one.. then another x Ray, then the solution followed by another X-ray.. takes 5 mins Max! Xxx

Aaaahhhh man! I had my mickey replaced awake ... My ptsd made it undoable when the ball on broke a week later and I accidentally pulled it out at home. I had to remind myself as a spectator to breathe sending love from another eds/tubie/potsy gal! Xo

No, they have balloon danglers, mine were done without sedation, the dangler I had originally was one with a bumper and that has to be done under sedation. All my tube changes with a balloon, including my amt button is done in IR so they can see in real time where the tube is going and to make sure it’s sitting in the right spot.

Amy, you handled that amazingly well, me, I could never cope like you did. I had gallbladder surgery on April 30th this year, I was so ill after, I had a reaction to the pain meds. It was 2 weeks before I could eat. All I could manage was water and then only sips. I had to have fluids through a drip i was becoming so dehydrated. I'm ok now, still can't have anything spicy, makes me feel so sick. You are amazing. Much love from jules in the UK xxxx

The tubes are normally coiled in a neat little swirl pattern. My lil sister has one and she normally does the tube change once a year and is awake during it. Shes a trooper for sure.
