It's pretty amazing how multiple parts of the body that aren't working proprely can be replaced by tubes, catheters, meds... Modern medicine is kinda extraordinary...
Amy Gn should do nursing :)
one of the reasons I wanna become a doctor. Thanks for motivating me to do my stupid assignments instead of sleeping lol
Indeed it is! ❤️
ikr..
as a nurse I agree but I would like to point out that these things can't replace anything. for example, you do dialysis when your liver doesn't function properly but you don't function as you would with a working liver - you feel tired, and just not 100%. i wish in the future that there will be solutions that are so good that the patient almost feels completely healthy.
how does she do this, get an education, have a social life, a youtube channel, travel or do anything at all?? major respect for this girl it would be so hard
I don’t know I do home school and I’m not vary enything enymore
Its amazing what people can get used to
I have a bunch of health issues and I look up to her for all she does and because of her I have a job, go to school, and do extracurricular activities
Alyssa Sharp Could you rephrase that?
Micheala W I think she means “I don’t know how she does it! I don’t do anything much anymore because i’m homeschooled now. I’m not very anything anymore haha”
I'm lazy to brush my teeth sometime and this would be really hard for me... Wish you luck

To be honest she really gorgeous 😯

Is nobody gonna talk about how *CLEAN* her cursive is?
Bruh she has Chronic Illnes and u just admiring her cursive......
Scorch Porch because its pretty!!! What am i going to compliment her for how organized her medicines are? 🙄
Scorch Porch she is more than her illness
Violet Playz yeah ik thats the point -3-
Violet Playz Oh ty :3
This makes me appreciate my health so much more. Idk how she goes through all of this every day! How is she able to travel or go out?!
lyla I know she’s a saint
She usually only connects to the monitor (tpn) at night. I know she has issues eating but in terms of mobility she goes out quite often, to Uni and get her nails and see her friends
lyla i love flowers too
i like your icon
Sorry everyone for the late response! My notifications haven't been working 😭🙃 lol
Don’t get me wrong, she certainly has it rough. But, I’m seeing people in the comments belittle others, in a way, who don’t “have it as bad as her”. She may have more problems with her life, but that doesn’t excuse people from not acknowledging those who still suffer, even if it is deemed as “not that bad”. Everyone has their problems, so please don’t overlook that: if you do.
Thank you for saying this!
For example; I have hydrocephalus, but that doesn't have anything to do with me of being an actual person that had brain issues. I'm one of the smartest people in my class, and the sweetest! So never doubt yourself guys~ ❤❤
I’m almost completely bedridden from illness. I always encourage the people around me to share their problems with me. I remind them that, my problems, don’t make your problems, any easier for you. They struggle with things regardless of whether someone has it worse or better than them. People should always be understanding.
decency is always in need...
D D I have hydrocephalus too! omg i never met anyone else with it! 😭do you have any social media? i would love to have someone to talk to that understands!
@@happythinkingishealthy4358 I sadly don't have any social media, but if I did, I would love to talk to you too! I never met someone else with the same condition I have! ❤❤😀
I find myself rewatching videos in light of Amy's passing. This was the video that introduced me to her, and made me subscribe. Not only was it great educationally, I subscribed to her vlogging channel too, because she just had a beautiful, vibrant personality I wanted to see more of. The entire pandemic I've periodically thought and worried about her, particularly the fear and isolation of the pandemic. I noticed when she started posting sporadically late last year, then stopped entirely. I had hoped that it was just her taking time off in order to heal and recover from her hip surgery and other stuff, but unfortunately that was not the case.
Rest in Peace Amy, I hope that wherever you are, you know how much you helped and affected people, and that you can eat as many churros as you want
Same. I actually just found her channel. I'm not sure why this video was in my recommended, I don't personally have any health issues but the light Amy had was just unreal. She dealt with so much but still had that beautiful smile on her face in every video and was so determined to spread awareness and help others. Just by watching her videos she has affected me greatly. It really puts in perspective for me that I really really need to be grateful for my health and I need to live up every single day and appreciate those days. Not that I don't but its easy to kinda get lost and forget what truly matters and she has shown me through her videos what truly matters in life. R.I.P to her beautiful soul that has touched my heart in so many ways. She is someone I will never ever forget that's for sure.
Hello. I was watching your video for the first time and I noticed at time stamp 11:51 you were drawing up your injection from a glass ampule using the same needle you injected yourself with. Glass ampules can have microscopic shards of glass that you can suck up into your syringe and inadvertently inject yourself with. You should ask your doctor about filter needles to prevent this from occurring. Other than that, you are doing an amazing job caring for yourself.
Hun I think she knows what she’s doing
@@jennyhynes9537 Theyre just looking out for her!
Obviously, do whatever is best for you and well done to you! I am a nurse and we always use a filter needle to draw up drugs from any glass ampule :) might be different in a hospital setting tho x
Honestly, maybe it is the case but we did the same in the hospital where I did my 3-weeks internship so... I guess maybe it is not that dangerous ? Howewer I did once cut myself opening a glass ampule and I had to throw everything away (including the drug).
I was thinking the same thing about asking for filter needles. Another thing you can do to prevent from getting cut by the glass ampule when opening it is use a alcohol wipe that’s still in the wrapper to open it. It gives you a layer of protection between the glass and your skin and I’ve never cut myself using this method. The one time I opened one without using a barrier, of course, I cut myself.
To the almost 600 ppl who disliked this, what the hell is wrong with you. I have quite a few chronic issues and anyone who has to deal with those regardless of severity, deserve respect
It's over 700 now...
@@aidenwestdahl1255 maybe because she wants to breed and have 50% chance of "gifting" her offspring with that wonderful affliction?
gbursson if she can live with it, so can her child. Are you suggesting that it would have been better for her to not have been born than to live with this illness?
Of course. She wants to breed while knowing how awful that is.
Th3L0st0n3 XD its definetly sexist men doing so
Can I say one thing?
SHES BEAUTIFUL
yeah . she is .
Facts bro
Lmao, bruh, I thought you were gonna say *one thing*
Colin Askey 😂
Princess Vane that’s really nice and all but would u say that if she didn’t have all those hard things in her life?
You are incredibly strong! I respect people like you!
As a nurse I'm just so in awe about you doing this all by yourself.. I have so much respect for you omygod especially that you catheterize yourself every night. You're absolutely beautiful and so strong.
A question? Do you never use a gauze for opening the vile for the injection? That way the chance you'll cut yourself will be almost non-existence
It's very normal that chronically ill patients are taught how to do a lot of things; we're not all put in care facilities or anything haha. They want us to stay living at home independently! What often happens is you are taught in hospital by a nurse or a nurse comes to your home to teach you if it's special equipment sometimes, it depends on the case and insurance and stuff.
Also, I bet her bf knows how to do all of this and went through the same training if she ever feels to unwell to do any of/all of it herself too. That's pretty standard that you'd have a second person get trained with you on how to do all your stuff!
@@winterrrsea1674 Oh I know! A young girl like her shouldn't be in a care facility if there's even slightly a chance that she can do it herself, it doesn't change that I think it's amazing that she does everything herself.. I live In the Netherlands so idk how it is in other countries but here we have like ''home care'' where nurses come if needed 1-6 times a day to help you with anything you need help with.
Thank you for explaining :)
@@simplymichelle4561 Nice system!
@@simplymichelle4561
You still do everything you can yourself.
And even when you need it you often have to fight for it.
idk why YT recommended this to me, but thank you for sharing.
It's incredible what you needed to do every single day to stay alive. Many things that healthy people take for granted. You did this and still have a smile and positive attidute. You wree amazing. RIP beatiful soul. I hope you don't have to fight anymore
I just found you channel! I am a 12 year Registered Nurse in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit. I do want to make a couple of suggestions...You might want to invest in filter needles when you are drawing up your medications from glass vials. Sometimes you can get micro glass shards in your medication when opening the vial. You would just use a filter needle to draw up your medication and then use your regular needle to inject your medication. Also when you pop the top off of your glass vial, you can use a small piece of gauze to hold the top part of the vial when you break it. That way you won't cut yourself again. I hope that helps in some way!
For a second I thought you said you were a 12 year old registered nurse as in like, you were 12. 😂😂😂
@@ehigginsx same 😂
hope she sees this
Good tips :) There are those little rubber caps that you can use to safely break the vials as well. Little suprised they didn't come with the medication.
RN as well. I second what she says!
You are amazing 👏 ❤ I can't believe I found you too late 😥💔😢💔😭
R.I.P Amy, thank you so much for being you, you made more of a difference to so many lives, than you’ll ever know. Love you ❤️❤️
She is so productive. I can’t even walk after I force myself to wake up
I've never laughed out loud at a comment till this
Hey
Just found this channel. I have Gastroparesis also and by the time I get my bed time routine done. I’m absolutely exhausted.
While there are people who just have to get out of bed and breathe to live a new day, she does all these procedures every day, the repetition must be overwhelming.
I like that you describe what you're doing in your videos. It helps me out a lot as i am blind.
my multiple life I couldn't agree more. I too am blind, and this is really helpful. :)
How did you type this ?
Mitch Finn I use an iPhone, which comes with a built in screen reader called voiceover. It reads information that is presented visually on the screen, and I use a variety of gestures to interact with the phone. When I want to type, I swipe across the screen and voiceover will read the letter that I am currently focused on. When I lift my finger the letter is typed. I can do it at a fairly fast pace as I have pretty much memorised the position of the letters on the keyboard over the years. I hope this answers your question :)
Lauren Downie wow u r determined, that’s a long paragraph describing how you type. 👍🏻😅
My multiple life I watch your videos
You are the toughest person i’ve ever heard/seen about in my whole life.
oh girl, when i see this kind of videos i feel so weak, srly, my body starts to feeling strange.
Señor Gato sameeee
!!! my knees feel weak!!!!!! WHAT IS THE SCIENCE!
well i get the same feeling when i see, or think about needles so i assume it's a symtom of having a phobia ?
like stuff about illnesses or the needle thing
if its about thing like llnesses its probably an empathetic thing like you are trying to imagine how she feels but your body doesnt know how to replicate it so it gets this weird feeling instead (thats at least my first guess) kinda like how if somebody yawns then most people tend to yawn too or like when someone talks about hurting something some people put up their arm to wherever that place is
if its the needle probs a phobia
btw dont base anything on this comment got no idea just my educational guess here
Señor Gato me too idk why
When she pricked her finger I was like”aw hell nah, I can’t do that”
Once, while I was pregnant, I had to check mine 4x a day for two weeks. It's really not TOO bad, but it's not fun obviously. You get used to it.
Isabelle Luehring it’s normal for people with problems like hers, diabetics have to do this everyday/meal to check their blood sugar
My dad has diabetes and i watch him prick his finger ALOT and its not too hard to watch for me Hahaha its weird seeing these comments ( No hate towards you)
I was in class with a diabetic stundent for seven years. At the end other kids wanted to get poked and test their blood sugar level
I have type 1 diabetes and I have done 5 or 6 pokes a day every day for 6 years 😁 it's not fun but it becomes your new normal and you do what you have to do to stay alive.
Rest In Peace baby girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
i dont understand how you stay so happy with all of this. it must be a lot. keep going girl
I'm guessing it's because shes used to it and is free to move because some people cant move at all and are in extreme pain.

Just asking , it's normal that I am not scared of needles?
I’m not either it’s perfectly fine lol
I mean I get a lot of needles so I’m not that scared when i get them but before getting them I get a bit nervous sometimes

Hi Amy- new subscriber here. I have a question for you that you may have answered already on one of your channels (sorry if you did!). How do you deal with feeling lazy or too tired when you go through your daily routines? It seems like they’d be too important to skip over, but routine can get very tiring sometimes. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, all the best to you ❤️
Not trying to answer for her of course, but I'm sure the bottom line is that if she doesn't she could get very sick, get an infection, or at the very worst die, so I'm sure she does get tired of it but its kinda like if she doesn't do it then she's risking her life, also I think she's mentioned before that her boyfriend is a big help to her, and you can tell she sets all types of alarms to help, hope that kinda helped you in some way understand lol again I'm not speaking for her just some stuff I've seen in her videos 😊
Yeah! As someone with a couple chronic illnesses I take tons of meds a night and I call tell you sometimes I get so tired. However I know if I don’t do them I will feel absolutely awful tomorrow or the next day.

Well it is going through a tube into her body. The medicine might burn a little bit or it is like an iv. Have you ever had one? Well for me at least it is sore so the medicine going through hurt.

@@akudumb3021 its like period cramps. Its painful. When you just introduce something into you like that it can cause burning or pain, and as it continues into the intestine it can be like period cramps. That's what happens to me if I eat something I am sensitive too, I will need a heating pad and be laying down in pain, especially when its going through the intestine in particular. Also whenever you take meds it can irritate the body. IVs can be very painful. Ive had a few. Sometimes it will hurt the next day, like your whole entire arm. I remember once it hurt so bad I went back to the hospital thinking something was wrong, but they said it was normal...it was chronic pain because whatever they gave me was just passing through my arm and it hurt so bad.
