I think many westerners are starting to change and realize that’s not worthy. Besides, the funny and sad thing is, those very same Chinese women wouldn’t even give you the time of the day when they were single and young, unless certain conditions are met, like money and/or a good passport.
Thanks for sharing your video. I married a Chinese lady ( now 21 years ago) and still together. We do find the marriage very difficult at times because of the vast cultural differences. I sometimes feel I’m married to her family & friends as she listens to them more than me! But we are still together, working at the relationship and she has embraced the western culture much more and doesn’t listen to her family so much these days.
My Chinese wife was the best thing that ever happened to me but I wasn’t good enough to keep her. I didn’t understand how she showed love and didn’t appreciate her enough. I’d give a leg for another chance with her. She’s the finest person that I have ever known. I love you Rong Ying!🎈
I'd imagine it's because, in China divorced women are considered leftover women. Chinese society has a very entrenched view on that. But foreigners tend to be more open minded.
There are also lots of leftover men. Lots of them. Most of them come from poor rural families. They will remain childless unless they seek foreign wives. But marrying a foreign lady is a big hurdle because (1) language/cultural barrier, (2) the foreigner is on a marriage visa so she can't work, (3) the foreigner can't access healthcare benefits for Chinese nationals only. Generally, a person with a calm and easy-going personality will have a much better relationship with someone than a person who yells and shouts and beats people up. On Chinese social media, you can find a couple of Russian/Eastern European ladies who are wedded to Chinese men with mixed-race babies. Sometimes the mix would be Chinese-Southeast Asian. Sometimes Chinese-African.
A divorced women and a leftover women are completely different things, don't confuse them, a leftover women is someone who hasn't married before 28, it may be because she didn't meet the beauty standards or because she was too career focused, but whatever the reason now she is 28 and never married she's overlooked because there must be something wrong with her, if there wasn't she'd already be married. It's not all that different from the "old spinster" mentality we used to have in the west decades ago, jut more strict with a very fixed age limit. But it's a very different stigma from a divorced women stigma.
@@daveamies5031 I don’t know about that. Some of the Chinese women who are just leftover and not divorced are absolutely horrific, expecting massive dowries, cars and houses.
Western men just want the person. We all age, so age is not a factor. Personality, honesty, integrity and if the person truly cares for you is the main factors.
Speak for yourself. Age is definitely a factor. A youthful appearance in women is a sign of virility. Living things, including humans, are programmed to perpetuate their species. Thus individuals that are best equipped to perpetuate the species appear most attractive. A woman's virility declines rather quickly, while a man's decline is longer & more gradual. So all other things being equal, a woman is ALWAYS going to be more attractive at 20 than at 50. The ability to provide and support offspring (make money for us humans) gets better with experience. So a man's attractiveness actually *increases* until about age 50, after which slow decline occurs. Guys, we don't have to be ashamed of science. Don't be ashamed that you find women in their 20's the most attractive no matter your age. Don't be apologetic about it. It's science. You feel shame because you might offend women your own age or because women who don't understand the science shame you. Don't let them. "Personality, honesty, integrity and if the person truly cares for you is the main factors." Depends on what "factors" you're talking about. If you're talking about factors of relationship satisfaction, then yes, this is true. If you're talking about attraction, then it's false. So to say "Western men just want the person..." and "age is not a factor." Well, that's just not very accurate at all.
@@Rickywwx Haha. I can agree with both comments. I don't want a 19 years old like Leonardo De Carpio, just someone who is somewhat younger and still looks young. I have seen woman who looks older than me even when i am the older one. LOL.
lets be honest, in a society obsessed with saving face, being divorced is pretty much the ultimate social marker of loss of face, it was entirely voluntary. all that baggage is removed if she targets western men.
Honest? You don't know this woman. You do sound like a misogynist. Or perhaps it's non white women you dislike. Which would make you a racist. There, that's honest.
She has got it all wrong. In the west, most men don't like marrying divorced women either especially if she has kids. So, this is jumping from the frying pan into the fire case..lol 😂😅❤😅
@@edhuber3557 Well, i hope you're right. However, western men should pray she does not bring over with her the usual entitled aloofness that is commonly associated with divorced chinese women especially those in their 30s in China. They believe no matter their age, they are the prize and all men should always acknowledge that. That will be one big headache for sure..lol 😅
I know of two Canadian men who married older divorced Chinese women from Mainland China. Both sponsored the women and their kids to come over. After getting their Canadian citizenship, both Chinese women filed for divorce. Both Canadian men got financially crushed - they lost their homes that they had paid for before ever meeting the women. I, OTOH, married a Filipina. We're still together after 20 years, and still going strong.

I would have to disagree with some points here but not in a big way. Many men in the West are waking up to not wanting to just be providers and many have been abused by the legal system. I think the feminist movement and the divorce laws have much to be responsible for the present day entitled attitudes that have made marriage a very difficult area for many men. We see today how many young men are just not getting involved in dating at all, the percentage numbers are very high. I don't think it is an Eastern or Western issue, I see it being a women's issue of attitude, entitlement and primarily the law. Millions and millions of men have been brutally treated in regard to child access and being left penniless, homeless and childless. Women have reaped these rewards, and I do not blame women, men would do the same, but the problem of single and divorced women in the East and West is a product of this imbalance due to government over involvement in all our personal lives.
In Denmark it’s quite common in families to have “his, hers and our” children. Some even live all together in shared big houses. Obviously if there’s 4-5 children in total it demands a rather large house, but it is manageble 😅
Most western men aren't going to head east to married to divorced women. They come to the east to find women with less baggage, younger, with fewer bad habits. This is why you see so many (often age gapped) relationships in Thailand and Philippines, where the locals are more friendly to westerners, and English speakers are more common (especially in the Philippines), and there is an established culture and history with Americans in particular. Censorship, etc. with the CCP is also a problem that many westerners aren't going to want to try to overcome. I'm happy for those that found love, but the barriers are too high compared to other Asian countries.
Great Video. THe key is near the end of your video, you said "I am so lucky", this show you truely love and respect your husband. Welcome to the Western world.

My wife is Chinese and we both live in Norway now, with our 16 year old kid. We married when she was 29 and I was 40 years old back in 2003, and I flew to her home town to marry her in a public office. Back then a foreigner was rare in Nanning, and thus we were invited to have a tea seremony with the local governor and got a lot of benefits from that connection. Since then we have been regularly back in China to visit friends and family, and travelled all over that diverse and beautiful country.
: ) THANKS MUCH for sharing! I find your perspective interesting, as I have had a Chinese wife, divorced and have tried blended family as well, some of which did not work out well, and some did. I also remember our culture having arranged marriages. ALL the BEST and Cheers : )
Marriage is one of the most beautiful gifts life can offer a journey of love, partnership, and shared dreams. If this gift are preconditioned with economics and other other variables, then NO GIFT WILL COME and life will stop to cycle. Good luck.
It varies. Similar with Thai's. Some good, some not so good. I was lucky. I've been married for 29 years. If you get introduced by aquaintances as I was, I met her cousin some years earlier so was introduced when she came out, I think it improves your chances of finding a good, sincere partner. That said, some of the guys looking for them are no prizes either.
Hi Lisa Thank you for another excellent video. It's really interesting getting your insights into Chinese and western cultures. Looking forward to next next video and words of wisdom!
Dear Lady, thank you for your nice video. Think that Chinese people are very kind, well educated and very friendly. Each man must be very happy to find a nice, kind chinese wife like you are. Kindest regards from Germany, Jean
Your English is very good. I wish my Mandarin were as good as your English. For the guys, whether it's a scam or not depends on the individual. Often, where and how a man searches for a partner can lead to scams. It's rare, but I found my wife on a major Western dating site, a real one, not a hookup site. She was connected on a VPN. It's harder to be scammed as a foreigner seeking a wife in China. Chinese women wanting serious relationships look for husbands, not boyfriends. They rarely date long-term without knowing you intend to marry them. Engagements are short, and the U.S. immigration process filters out a lot of people on both sides, so don't lie to her about your wealth because she is going to know anyway If you seek casual relationships like in the Philippines or Thailand, don't bother with China. Finding such women there likely leads to financial or physical harm. Stick to what you know. However, if you're seeking a wife, that's different, and there are many lovely women in China. A fact that I have never been able to understand given the number of single Chinese men. Translation since that is a lot of English:
She is PERCEIVED as too old. Using your stated parameter, a 50 year old Chinese man is too old to marry. The world in general is unforgiving and favors the greedy.
Hi from Canada! Many good points. Western men also like Asian women because they are more feminine traditional, meaning dress like women and also not too heavy. That is much more attractive. It also very nice to experience new food instead of the usual western meals. You have cute accent, keep trying your video is very good !
I’m not sure about that. My wife is Chinese and I am English. I met her when she was 43, and I was 46. However, neither of us had any children from a previous relationship and neither of us were divorced. I would reject a Chinese woman with kids just as much as a similar western woman.
I would also add, she is also very beautiful and fit, not something you could normally expect from a western woman of similar age. She is in point of fact a very special person, which is the only reason why our relationship flourished in the first place.
Hi, your comments are so true. I learned a lot from your posts. I've been scammed by ladies a few times from online posts. I'm American and my dream is to marry an Asian lady for love. I'm 57 years old and know it will not be easy. Many Chinese and Asian ladies I meet online automatically assume I'm wealthy because I'm well educated and respectful. When I tell them I'm not wealthy, they lose interest. I've lived my life alone and I'm probably going to die alone. The world is truly evil.

@@G0NZ-b9y right, but there again it's iffy. Not saying "she will" but it makes you wonder. Sides her country hates America inerways, or else her country wouldn't want to buy up America, and let their people come in the illegal way, and lots of people will do anything to get money. Stands why the old saying goes "it takes time to find love, cuz anyone can show their nice friendly side, until they gotten the green card than their true colors comes out".
Yeah, I am aware of such a sentiment because my mother talks about it. Fortunately for my own mother, she has been with her first and only marriage to my father. They are both Chinese. She is also the boss of the house. Sometimes, I wonder if the household just works better when the women has more power no matter what or the better end of the bargain. When the man of the house has greater power, people tend to view it negatively, and this may negatively affect the relationship and so the couple breaks up. But when the woman of the house has greater power, people tend to view it more amusingly, and this may positively affect the relationship and so the couple stays together. I once online-tutored a little girl on the Internet. She was a new arrival from China, and she had come with her single mother. Her biological dad was likely dead or divorced, but whatever the case might be, her new stepdad was a white guy from one of the mountain states in America. My mother was shopping at a store and spotted a Chinese lady there, and they had a chat. The lady was a part-time worker there, but she and her American husband used to be researchers in China. Not sure how they met, but I think the American researcher might have gone to China, did research, met that woman and brought her with him to America. She did marry once in China but the marriage was childless. With the American man, she had 1 mixed-race son.

I have a friend who works as an English teacher in China. You'd be surprised how often he hears - Never marry a traditional Chinese man. But like everywhere, there are many good men too. It's more about how their culture controls how they should be in China, choice is not high on the agenda. They are taught to suppress feelings, they are discipline driven.

With the economy down fall in the West. Financially is becoming difficult to bring someone from overseas, and never mind the whole family. If you don't have a good salary and a fair amount of savings, it is practically impossible to bring a spouse or a family over because you need to pass all conditions from the immigration. Most Western prefer Filipinas because of the English language, less traditional demands and all you need is a fat wallet.

Respect must be defeloped, respect is Two Ways traffics and is the foundation of good relationships and love.
The reality is very few people in any culture want to spend their life and resources supporting and raising somebody else's children; this is a natural phenomenon. Not arguing against marrying divorcees, but partners who both have grown-up children aren't going to feel any force against natural, instinctive feelings regarding children. 👍
I agree, but it is not just the cuckold's concern of raising and 'resourcing' other's children. There is also awareness of the difficulties of adolescence, heightened by sass or disrespect of 'your not my real father', and the possibility of the prior man (or his family) complicating matters.
0:20 That is pretty universal. You will find a bit more leeway in Europe or the Americas but there they have so so many protections for women it is very risky to do so. Quebec & France have provisions where you owe child support for a child not yours if you functioned for a father figure for just _6 months_ and that bar is very low. Rest of Europe has very similar statutes in the books withthe longest term being 4 years. If a man is already paying you still owe, either the amount of what you would be paying minus what is already being paid or if that is €0, than a set %. I refuse single mothers for this very reason. Another big one is if the women is either pregnant or you reasonably must have been able to know or suspect, and you keep seriously seeing her, that is equal to adoption full stop. If she can produce a ring tyhat the court belieces came from you, that is it, no need for marriage, you adopted, pay up.
Not just in China. I think this is also true outside of China. I remember many years ago I got invited to a friend's house for dinner. There were 6 couples there. All chinese wives with western husbands. It surprised me a bit so I asked my friend about it and 5 of those couple were in their second marriage, the first one being with a chinese husband. That was some 15 years ago however. Today what I realized in the west is that theres a big trend for asian girls to date white guys. Not sure where that comes from (I suspect the rise of K-Pop and K-Drama has something to do with this).

Lisa, your husband is a lucky man. Sometime ago, I was talking to a lovely 36 year-old only child Chinese woman who was a self-described "left-over woman". I was very serious about her until I had strokes. Her father owns a clothing company and promised me a "dowry" of $700,000 US. I think many westerners are starting to change and realize that’s not worthy. Besides, the funny and sad thing is, those very same Chinese women wouldn’t even give you the time of the day when they were single and young, unless certain conditions are met, like money and/or a good passport.
Umm from some other vloggers, they're telling a very different story about Chinese women than you are.
Women don't owe you anything.
Thanks for sharing!
For us foreigner it's easy target.
@@thomaslandcaster9638 Life is short. If you can make it work, then power to you.
And they just want the booty!!! And they want to do ALL of the freaky stuff to these Asian women they want to them without consequences too.
So to say "Western men just want the person..." and "age is not a factor." Well, that's just not very accurate at all.
yes
@@Rickywwx Haha. I can agree with both comments. I don't want a 19 years old like Leonardo De Carpio, just someone who is somewhat younger and still looks young. I have seen woman who looks older than me even when i am the older one. LOL.

lets be honest, in a society obsessed with saving face, being divorced is pretty much the ultimate social marker of loss of face, it was entirely voluntary. all that baggage is removed if she targets western men.
Yes and western men who couldn’t find a western girl is happy to marry the divorced women and provide a green card in return.
Honest? You don't know this woman. You do sound like a misogynist. Or perhaps it's non white women you dislike. Which would make you a racist. There, that's honest.

@@4evertrue830 I agree, but the degree of "don't like" may be different. In China, it may be a show-stopper; less so in the West.
@@edhuber3557 Well, i hope you're right.
Good points . Don't think this is an accident. Powers to be want less people not more.
Nice words and yes, there are good and bad everywhere. Thanks for your post, as I found it very interesting.

It varies. Similar with Thai's. Some good, some not so good. I was lucky. I've been married for 29 years.
Engagements are short, and the U.S. immigration process filters out a lot of people on both sides, so don't lie to her about your wealth because she is going to know anyway
If you seek casual relationships like in the Philippines or Thailand, don't bother with China. Finding such women there likely leads to financial or physical harm. Stick to what you know.
However, if you're seeking a wife, that's different, and there are many lovely women in China. A fact that I have never been able to understand given the number of single Chinese men.
Translation since that is a lot of English:

I’m not sure about that. My wife is Chinese and I am English. I met her when she was 43, and I was 46. However, neither of us had any children from a previous relationship and neither of us were divorced. I would reject a Chinese woman with kids just as much as a similar western woman.

Hi, your comments are so true. I learned a lot from your posts. I've been scammed by ladies a few times from online posts. I'm American and my dream is to marry an Asian lady for love.
I would think that despite all the material considerations that the depth of love they have for each other would be the most important factor.

Most chinese women from China or Taiwan came to USA to find find husbands for their money, pension or retirements income. Money is important to live well; however, money shouldn't be based as the main goal. Companionship with respect to each other are more important. Respect must be defeloped, respect is Two Ways traffics and is the foundation of good relationships and love.
Money money money this is the world where relationships are standing 😂
Good info
Not just in China. I think this is also true outside of China. I remember many years ago I got invited to a friend's house for dinner. There were 6 couples there. All chinese wives with western husbands. It surprised me a bit so I asked my friend about it and 5 of those couple were in their second marriage, the first one being with a chinese husband. That was some 15 years ago however. Today what I realized in the west is that theres a big trend for asian girls to date white guys. Not sure where that comes from (I suspect the rise of K-Pop and K-Drama has something to do with this).

Because not everyone can find true love, so I say I am lucky, and my husband is really a good husband.
@@GobbyLisa99 it means your husband also very lucky 😀
I married a leftover Chinese women. Complained all the time , couldn't do anything. Didn't want to do anything..then got a green card filed fake DV charges and split.
I agree, I foolhardily married one of them - a total disaster. The greatest mistake of my life, by a long margin.
That sounds like you didn't vet her at all - Especially if she was in China when the relationship started - You have so much leverage to Vet these women when they are not State side
I'm divorced with no kids. My GFs grandkids are the kids that I never had. I ❤ them like they are mine.
Thanks you for sharing :-)
Thank you.
The family were Baptist Christians and were a bit afraid of the Government in China. As you say, there are good people and bad people and then there are WONDERFUL loving kind families. Her family thought I was the kindest, most loving man on Earth. I quickly fell in love with her extended family too, and her year-old niece had me wrapped around her finger. The sweet lady couldn't believe how much attention and love I showed "only a girl child".
Is her father asked you give dowry about $700,000 US?
Reverse. I met this situation myself...
I’m glad I found your channel. I really enjoyed listening to you. I learned a lot and your English is terrific. I would really like to find a Chinese wife or girlfriend, but all these dating sites feel like they are scams. Do you have any recommendations?
