@@BrianLatimerFishing take this setup out and fish it. Give us some context! I know this is a fish catcher but some newer fishermen might be intimidated by how simple this is. Excellent work!
I would love to see your chatterbait setup. Zman plastic is awesome. I’ve had the same hula stick on for the past 20 fish and it is still going strong. Thanks for the videos keep them coming during this down time.
This the most educational video I have ever seen. Omg I have watched this so many times very good stuff. I would like to see other rigs from start to finish was awesome!!!!!!
Hey B. Your about a 6 ft tall guy. 1.5 arm lengths aught to be about 9 ft. I throw all braid to leader and use about the same length leader. Any longer and the knot gets into the reel and starts to tear up my thumb on baitcasters. Favorite braid to leader knot is blood knot. Has to be retied often cause the knot wears going through the guides. Another great vid. Keep em coming. Looking forward to seeing you set the hook for Brooks soon!!
Thanks for putting out all the how to videos on how to fish what baits and etc etc.... just all around great. Especially for beginners like myself. Keep making them. I will keep watching and learning
Wow just seeing this out of the box ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Chatterbait and your crankbait set ups would be great! TBH- a series covering all of your setups would be even better. Then I can go through and study them when I am purchasing new gear or trying to figure out my own setups!! Great job as always!!!
BLat their are about 321 more viewers that enjoy your content. Man these are tough times sometimes just going back and watching your videos and seeing your excitement for the sport really helps. Thanks
I’m in England,,use these for perch fishing,,got to say ,great video,,easy to follow,,,good to just watch even if you never get to use all the info,,,,cheers Brian.
I have 3 bottles of locktite on the boat at all times. It’s SAVES baits. All baits. Some “manufacturers” are one and done when it comes to their plastics. With the “superglues”, I get st least 2-3 fish on a bait. And I’m talking about the companies that make great concept baits that do not last. Definitely saves money over the course of a season.
About that Alberto knot, you don't have to go 9 up then 9 down. You can pull the braid, hold it in the finger you're holding the loop, then just do the 9 down and make sure you send the tag end through the loop the same way. Twice as fast, way easier and just as strong. The half Alberto!
I really like this type of video. You should consider doing a series and think of some clever pun for a “school” you do weekly. Then put out a challenge and have people tag you in Instagram of them doing your rigs or set ups and have a drawing with a prize from a sponsor. Educational fishing stuff from proven pros is hard to come by. Just food for thought
Excellent video. My hearing makes the human voice a bit hard to catch but every word you said was clear. Didn't pause and back up once. Liked and subbed.
Thanks BLAT this has helped 👍 I’ve really enjoyed the spotted bass videos also as I only have one lake near by with them and the lake is completely different from all the other lakes near me!

Boy you are so articulate, easy to listen to and learn from. Well prepared video as usual. I have never tried the Z-Man Jig for Shakey Head Fishing. Thank you. Be well.
I got hooked on this shakey head setup fishing for river smallies the I was having a harder time feeling the bottom in the current and was missing fish but switched to this setup and they were hooking themselves
Brian the Swindle knot works well on smaller line but you have to give it more twists than the larger diameters. 10lb for example I twist 7-10 times. If I'm tying 15-20lb I only go 5-7 twists.
Please show more setups! As far as this setup though, would this be a good all-around spinning setup(with the braid/line setup specifically) for finesse tactics? Love your videos Brian!
I use a stiffer med, fast action rod and I put high vis yellow 20lbs braid to 12lbs Flouro and I love that set up but that medium action rod is a bit on the stiffer side which I like
I buy strike king braid too. Affordable and it isn’t too bad. I’ve had a little color bleeding but very minor. I also tried a brand called god line that is an Amazon primarily line. It’s pretty good too.
Me too dude! Catching a fish on a spinning rod is so much better to me. Don't get me wrong catching fish on any rod and reel is fun but there is something special on a spinning setup than a casting setup to me.
I have used the Alberto knot for ever with no problems for my connection knot and a trilene knot palamor for my lure knot depending on what lure I am tieing on.
Yo awesome tutorial vid bro. Thx for schooling us in this time of need and keeping us tuned in. Great content keep it coming badge and protect yourselves 🙏🏼✌🏻🇺🇸

Yeah it was epic I had a lil fan base( just one onlooker lol) but I couldn’t turn the fish for nothing I had him on 6lb line. That’s awesome B Lat, there’s nothing like hooking into a biggin on light tackle!
Really enjoyed this video. Been looking to change things up for a fun/new technique in brackish water in Louisiana. I know bass/redfish will destroy this setup.
What worm do u use for Texas Rig. I tried the zinkerz and those come off the hook every time. The super glue is an awesome hack. Thanks for doing what you do. Just want to make sure I’m doing it right
How about doing a series on all the fishing types with all the lures and different baits. How to use the different rods with different actions, length, reals, line and how you like to fish all of it. How about fishing from shore, your do’s and don’t. Your experience is truly grateful. I really enjoy your channel and subscribe to it. Thank you!!! Mark

Hey Brian, have you ever looked into doing BFS for some of your lighter weight applications? Man I tell ya, I use a BFS setup throwing small 1/16-1/8 th oz hair zigs on the TN river for smallies and being able to throw further than a spinning rod with more accuracy is unreal. Caught several smallies over 6 and a couple over 8 and the BFS is perfectly designed for it.
Brian Latimer BFS is Baitcasting Finesse System. It started in Japan. There are a lot of reels that come ready for BFS. They are as follows: Shimano Aldebaron BFS, Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS, Shimano Scorpion BFS, and a whole lot of other Japanese reels. These reels have extremely lightweight spools that take less inertia to get moving, so lighter lures. The cheapest way to go is since you like the Black Max there are companies that make a BFS spool for those reels, as well as some of the other Revos. As far as rods go. Get your guys who make your spinning rods to build a Baitcasting version with the same action and you’re set. I build my own BFS rods, but my first was a Kuying Teton 662 Ultra Light. Which is what I’ve caught my biggest smallie on. Just research bait finesse system and it will seriously change you finesse world. If you have anymore questions I’m happy to answer. I would love to see an elite fisherman bring this system mainstream. Thanks
"The best knot to tie, is the best knot you know how to tie". That has to be the best tip I have heard on a fishing channel in a long time.
Completely agree
True
Unless the best knot you know is an overhand 😂
