    I so identify with this guest. I always under eat. I track and I feel like I eat so much and by the end of the day, I’m still under. And if I don’t try to force the food, I could easily be at 500 calories and be satisfied. I’ll be so glad when my appetite ramps up and I know I am getting all the nutrition I need without feeling stuffed.

      Lots of women do this. I never did but I hear about undereating a lot. I think it is a leftover from all the dieting

    I did 3 weeks of the 36/12 fasting in February. Im at that same stage...too much fasting. Its so hard, because i could just do a 40 hour fast because im sick of food. Im trying to eat more, but its scary. I overcame my sugar addiction by quitting drinking wine. Never going to drink again. Im eating a little more now, still have 35 lbs to lose. Ive been on and off diets since i was 20. Im 59 now. Id eat steak and hamburger every day if i could! But i love beef and pork roasts too.

    Completely true. It’s natural for your body to seek equilibrium so if you consistently restrict, your body adjusts to that. Your body will always try to protect itself. Give it less, it will hold on to whatever it “thinks” it might need. That’s why we all must vary diet, etc. It’s why we hit plateaus and why some quit keto. Because they eat the same thing every single day. You have to stress the body and if it gets used to your pattern, it adjusts and stabilizes. It’s also why calories in, calories out only works a few months. To go longer you have to keep decreasing your calories til ultimately you’ve decreased all you can & it starts to store. I got to a point that if I ate more than 300 calories, I gained weight. That amount of less, stayed the same. Exercise, activity, nothing made a difference. I started eating NSNG and way more than I ever ate, and started losing again. Thank goodness.

      This is happening to me now. I have fasted some much in the past 3 months, I made a roast and roasted a bunch of veggies, too. I had a couple of carrots and gained a few pounds overnight. I was devastated. It took me over a week to get it off. I know I need to eat more, but it's scary. I've been trying to get this weight off for 40 years. 😢

      @@rowanstarling3816 I totally understand that fear. That’s the way I felt when I started NSNG. You just have to make the leap. Try starting with carnivore only. Don’t eat more than what you want and ignore that nagging feeling that you HAVE to eat and eat at a certain time. Protein and fat lead to satisfaction of your appetite, so if you stick to eating just enough to satiate yourself, you will probably eat less than you expect to. Pay attention to what your body is telling you and try not to consume more than 80 grams of protein in one meal. Your body can’t metabolize more than 80 g of protein at a time so it takes any excess and turns it into glucose. That’s a bad thing, we don’t want that. If you have to break it into 2 meals at least 30 minutes apart. Try to stick to the number of grams of protein equal to your ideal weight, in one day. For example if your ideal weight would be 120, then try to get 120 grams of protein a day. Resist the impulse to weigh every day at first. I know. But try. Also, try keeping your eating window to 6 hours per day. Fast the other 18. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

    It’s definitely me… I barely eat 900 or 1000 cal and can’t lose weight… I get full off like 2 eggs or 1 burger patty.. so used to eating small portions.. plus I’m only 5”1… I try make myself eat more protein now and drink protein shakes

    Thank you for the podcast….. Serena have you tried upping your steps by about an additional 5k? It doesn’t take very long and it is a great way to balance out the eating because it doesn’t make you extra hungry… Kelly Hogan got great results from this and I did too. Hope that helps ❤️❤️

    I did the same. Was keto. Never tracked lost 120#. Went carnivore and gained 30#. Was eating “intuitively” didn’t realize I was under eating. Started working out trying to stay 1450-1600 calories. Won’t budge. Slowly still gained. Had to way up protein and calories to lose. Seems so counterintuitive

    I think it might help to increase your protein and decrease fat intake.. if u want burn more body fat… dr westman says just eat fat in food not adding xtra .. but once u get to goal and don’t have xtra body fat then add xtra for energy

    Ive been keto for 8 years. But recently been trying carnavore.
    The problem is, i can not eat more than one hamburger patty a day. Im just not hungry. And cant make myself eat! I need advice. What do i need to do?

      You’d stress your body out if you forced it. Start with just an extra bite of butter (like browned butter bites), a protein shake etc. If you slowly acclimate your body to consuming more then you’ll eventually be able (and want) to eat more.

      Figure out why you don't want to eat. Maybe your, emotions, maybe there is a angst to gain weight. It sounds like a mental issue.

      Its just deep ketosis. My appetite is zero as well. I eat a 16 oz steak once per day whether I want it or not and have lost 43 pounds in roughly 90 days. I feel fantastic. I am considering extending the fast to 48-72 hours for the autphogy

    It sounds like you're over exercising? Two times a week for a great strength training and not a bunch of cardio and you could probably see some changes that you're looking for?

    It such a turnon to see someone eating a big piece of steak
