iPhone: DCIM Folder Empty on Windows Computer? FIXED!

- I show you how fix an iPhone that is connected to a Windows Computer, laptop or PC yet when you select 'Apple iPhone' then 'internal storage' and then open your DCIM folder but it says "This Folder is Empty". Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip about simply waiting for the folder to appear, no other video I found suggested that time might be the issue, took about 30 seconds before the folder showed up, you're a lifesaver!
This. Exactly this. I was so irritated trying to find a way to do this n getting pissed at Apple for no reason lol. Was just me expecting things to be almost instant in 2022.

Thank you! All I had to do was toggle off Location Services for 30 seconds and toggle back on and then it worked! No reset needed.

Thank you for the tip - I had to wait ~5 minutes for my internal storage to show on my computer. It is around 255 GB

@@aureas i decided to buy iCloud storage and download all pictures and vdos into iCloud then i download from iCloud to my laptop/memory bank.

Sometimes you are not meant to be dealing with DCIM folder. It sucks.

It looks like the settings menu has changed as it no longer offers the reset choice, but all I had to do as someone else mentioned on the comments, is to switch the location off and the folder magically appears!!!! Thank you:)
After the reset Just waiting for 5 minutes the folders appeared.👍👍 Thanks dude!!!..

But I can't do it in Canada or because my iphone and HP laptop not matching,... took 4 years, today, I decide to research more from UA-cam, thanks for your video. In my case I haven't reset anything but just wait. After 47 seconds that I counted, all the content appears on my computer. This video is great!

Thank you so much for the excellent tutorial, I had my Ipad 2 lying aroung, and found photos that hold a lot of memories, followed your instructions, and was able to retrieve the photos and the videos with success. I transfered them to my external HD.
I waited about 2 minutes then I unlocked the phone and trusted the computer. Everything appeared. Thanks for advising to wait.

Nice try, but no dice. Connection and photo file copy used to work with this PC and phone. I don't even get the DCIM folder under "Internal storage". I didn't get the "trust this computer" re-prompt after reset, re-connect the cable, or even after a re-start. iCloud photos is (and always has been) disabled. It recently updated to iOS 14.7.1 and, being a work phone, has MobileIron security app installed (though this hasn't changed recently).
Fixed it by downloading & installing latest itunes for windows. All photos available again, (no delays either).

This is helpful in the event I can't get it to work. But what I've noticed is sometimes unplugging and plugging the phone back into the cable works. Then it pops up immediately. Hope this helps someone dealing with what I was!

Updated to the ios15 and what now i go into general & followed your steps and all it says now is transfer or reset iphone, i cant do a backup to icloud as i have 240gb & haven’t cleared my phone for 7 years. Nothing is loading on my laptop with dcim folders as i updated
