I'm a 71 year old American male who, to this day, has an insatiable desire to learn. Thank you for such an informative video. I love how you supply so much information to the viewer and doing so in English. Such a joy to watch your presentations. Keep up the good work.
My goodness, what a view that is. Here in New Zealand we have very nice looking grass and hills, although there is only one city (which is Wellington) that has a railway that is laid directly next to the sea. Watching this video blows my mind seeing the sea side just rushing past. Great vid
Thank you! Despite having an endless appearance, the body of water is just a large lake. On the other side is France. Sounds like Wellington might be a place I'll have to visit!
I live in the general area near St Triphon, and quite close to the refinery. It's currently being disassembled after years of being closed, I think the last refinery in Switzerland is now near Neuchatel. Fun fact: a special crew specialised in dismantling refineries came all the way from Romania ! They will disassemble it and re-assemble it somewhere else so it can be reused. The whole thing! Also a friend of mine is the guy who maintains the engine and does the brake tests for the narrow gauge line to both Champéry and the Diablerets, he sometimes drive to Champéry, he must have amazing view in the winter. Thank you for this cabride !
Thanks for your comment! I had no idea it was closed. I wonder what led to that. I bet it's beautiful! Well, if your friend would like to help me film the lines he drives on, I'd be more than happy to pay him something per video.
Hello from upstate New York USA! What a beautiful country you live in. I’ll probably never get there but your videos sure take me on a journey! Peace to you and yours ❤️
Thank you for providing both the technical specifications and the operational history of each line traveled on the trip. I was amazed to read that the old Sissach-Läufelfingen-Olten line wasn't electrified until 1953! I guess it shouldn't be surprising, though, as it had been downgraded in priority after the opening of Hauenstein Base Tunnel and was probably fortunate to not be shut down, let alone get amy kind of upgrade.
At first I didn't want to watch the long journey at all - but then I treated myself to it in stages... Rolling through the Swiss Alpine landscape is really impressive - and towards the end some sections were familiar to me, I had already travelled through them in other videos by you and others in a cab view ride 😊 👍 🖖

I start from a premise: I think they should give a medal to the mothers of Lorirocks, Paolo and all those who make these videos! They are spectacular videos. I discovered the channel thanks to the video Chiasso Cormaux, a cabride of almost 6 hours... speechless! Beautiful, wonderful! now the words are finished, the emotions you make us feel are infinite. I finally saw Lake Geneva from the Montreux side (also famous for the Deep Purple song). The line from Yverdon to Bienne up to Olten is beautiful, lines that I had already seen but it is always a pleasure to read all the notes and detailed captions. The marshaling yard of Basel is immense! Is it the largest in Switzerland? Or does Zurich surpass it? A multitude of Swiss locomotives are visible along the lines! I respect your work, because it must be difficult to find the information, make the video, edit and upload the video to UA-cam. It is not enough just to do it, but it must be done well! And you make them great... Lorirocks777's channel is like a starred restaurant with excellent dishes: few videos during the year but all rare pearls of immeasurable landscape and railway beauty.
