The first thing that pops into my head when you mentioned slinky toys was at the beginning of Ace Ventura: when nature calls. When Ace is leaving the monastery and the slinky stops a step or two from the bottom of the stairs.
There once was a super trucker named Dan, Who drove through the night like a man. With his big rig in tow, He'd go to and fro, Delivering goods as fast as he can!
Hi Dan.I like to whatch your your videos, beacuse you explaine what you are doing in an easy understanding english.I am a retired truckdriver from Sweden, i have done a different kind of hauling during my 47 years of trucking. Stay safe on the roads. ANDY From Sweden.
Nice to see those slinky’s were shrink-wrapped. Do not recall in my past seeing that. Also, load securement is an art. Nice job strapping those coils. Doesn’t look like they we be moving around anytime soon
Use to hall those what I called stinky slinkies. I used a 12’ fiberglass painters pole. It would slide down to about a 4’ and fit in the headache rack good but didn’t weigh anything. Also I’ve been enjoying the older videos that have been coming up lately. You and Bailey stay safe and keep the rubber side down.
It was good to see you Monday be safe out there, and thanks for sharing the slinky coils I've not had the chance to haul them yet but glad to get valuable information about had to properly secure them
We used to make woven wire mesh with that wire, you have. Woven wire mesh panels, doors, gates, any shape or size, for stadiums, warehouses, jails, all over. Steel wire, stainless, aluminum and bronze/brass
Used to haul a lot of the coils like that. In a dry van and reefer. But they were on a stand. All of them went to Hickory NC. They made springs out of them there. Forklift dropped one back in the day. Almost killed the driver standing close to his flatbed.
Bolts, screws and other assorted fasteners are usually made from "Slinky coils" in my late teens, I used to make screws at an iron fabrication place I worked at. Could be a dozen other things it's used for ,but that's what I made anyways.🤠👍 Stay safe and healthy Dan!!!
You were better off staying at the Rest Area rather than the Pilot! That Pilot is not one of the better ones. And Mississippi is in the process of updating and refurbishing all of its rest areas. Come back any time. Thanks for sharing the video.
Dan you should see if LED bulbs are available for headlights there deffently brighter & they last a whole lot longer than regular headlight bulbs, just a suggestion. Happy Trails
Dan I have never used a chain “puller” but I have hooked the chain in the end of the pipe and pushed the chain through…mine was made out of 3/4 pvc pipe with a piece of 3/4 aluminum rod in the centre( to keep it straight)…I kept it in with my dunnage..
With “Slimkies”, I always tied the first and last coils like you did, but then used strap to make an X for all others. Rides pretty good. Cryin Wire! Cheap Freight…Stay Safe
You can just put the Hook on the end of the pipe, and use that tee as a handle, and I would tighten that small joint on one pipe that was it would never come off, you know how things vibrate going down the road, I found some 3/8’s rebar, and bent one end, run it thru and hooked the chain on it - hooking it to the end of the pipe, you should be able to push it thru and do a jerking motion and get it to drop off so you can stay on one side, either way - paint that pole Orange to match your truck- plaster your name on it - so it don’t walk off. Now give Bailey a cookie, and drive Safe. 🤠♥️✝️🇺🇸🐾🦴
Not many airlines using the 747 for passenger flights. Most are air cargo now. Lufthansa, Korean Air and China Air are the big users passenger service plus a few more.
A few videos ago, you mentioned that you were being judged by viewers on the pronunciation of city/town names. I would not be concerned at all. F them. The signage on the road doesn't have the phenetic spelling and in most cases, locals say it different than the same city name in other places. New Orleans is the perfect example. Illinois with the silent s is another. I wouldn't give it a second thought. Great videos.
so you talked about the front coils pulling back and the back coils pulling forward. It looks like the straps are pulling in the opposite direction. In other words your 4 front coils are being pulled towards the bunk, looks like. Just my OCD there.

Since you were in Louisville that 747 you saw was more than likely a UPS freighter
The first thing that pops into my head when you mentioned slinky toys was at the beginning of Ace Ventura: when nature calls. When Ace is leaving the monastery and the slinky stops a step or two from the bottom of the stairs.
I always used a piece of pvc pipe for reels.... you can hook the chain into it and push it through the reel.
Your truck is the best looking.

15:55 electrical conduit tubing works great, I’ve used one for at least 22 years. Be safe out there.

Visited one pilot on a six day 3200 mile run last week. Total shitshow due to poor lot condition and construction.
Good stuff, thanks for posting. Peace...!
Kentucky always had nice Safe havens. use to stop at them if i knew the struck stops ahead would be full
A very nice way too strap those coils.
Thanks for the video, Dan. Travel safe!!!
Use to load rebar that came in like that but not wrapped. Stockton CA.

Used to haul them out of Perth Amboy in the mid 1990's. We called it welfare wire.
Love your content..
Thanks for the kind Mississippi words. I know the rest stop there around West, I’m not to far away in West Point . Enjoyed the video.
One of the toughest Trains to run was a "Slinky Train". Heavy coils with cushin drawbars on undulating grade. Yeah

Hi Dan. What has four eyes and can't see ? MISSISSIPPI ! 🤣
I enjoy hearing that Cat engine. Any idea of the Horsepower rating? It sure seems to pull the loads easily. Thanks for the videos.

UPS hub in Louisville. They have a few 747-8’s in their stables.
@@scottp.5161correct. Why I also included cargo. National and Atlas also.
I know that Pilot and Winona well, my ex wife grew up there.

When you parked at the weight station and then drove back through to exit, how do they know you didn't just come off the highway?
With that 18 speed do you ever get s chance to skip a gear? Seems like down hill you could.................Jay
I sure hope you are getting around $250 per tarp that you throw
Do Vets get priority on Mil loads?
Do you have a TWIC card?

I am sorry Dan just me, but I dont like the new style music and some of the new style camera work, but guess you have to keep the ratings up.
