    Another note you should’ve noticed.
    When Nero is done protecting his loved ones and believed that they were safe, Nero is willing to abandon the power when he thinks he no longer needs it. As shown as he offered Dante to give back the Yamato once they destroyed the saviour. But Dante knows that as the grandson of Sparda and a quarter demon, Nero will be undoubtedly be involved in more situations like this and tells him to keep it in order for him not to experience something that will make him turn out like his brother. Nero, surprised at the situation, accepts the Yamato. After all, everyone enjoys and searches for power.

    I always found it was lucky that Nero met Dante at just the right time, when he found out his demonic inheritance and the religious order turned out to be a lie and fell. He got the best senior and role-model he could look up to and feel related to. Wasn't he imitating Dante's style consciously or subconsciously since DMC4, because now he talks like him and acts like him?
    It is mentioned in the DMC 5 novel that when losing his arm, the worst thing he felt was the guilt of losing Yamato, which is an important family heritage for Dante, who trusted him with it.
    Usually Dante would go a lot more subtle with other's feeling, but he was too preoccupied with confronting his brother this time, and all he did was keep pushing Nero away from the fight. Poor young man XD

      He's a copy paste vergil, why doesn't he have ANY chatacteristic of his mother? Capcom just went lazy on this, why don't they just say he was created by vergil through some spell or maybe sanctum cloned vergil to drain his power later on or something since Nero doesn't resemble his mother in the slightest and she was aparently just an incubator to create nero's character and otherwise not important. I mean that's just lazy to never show anything about her in the novels or manga. I wish nero was dante's and lady's son cause his existence just doesn't make sense as it is with all the plotholes. What was the point of his character. We know vergil was brought back in dmc3 to be dante's perfect rivaln, but what's the point of Nero's existence really? He's just a dumb and boring vergil clone character to me no matter how much someone shows the complexity of his character, he doesn't have the charm like other characters do.

    Another thing about Nero, is that when the chips were down and he was dazed and confused, who did he turn to in the end? Kyrie, his family. And Nico to an extent. Nero sought comfort and compassion in his family, whereas if he asked Dante he would just try to "cool" it away. Heck even Lady tried to give some reassurance.

He’s just having a normal day, fixing up the RV before dinner and sees a creepy homeless looking hooded dude outside his garage. His first reaction? Asking the figure if he needs help or is hungry and inviting him to join them for dinner. He had his guard down honestly trying to help this complete stranger right before he was attacked and lost his arm. There was no snark, no condescension, just an honest attempt to help someone he thought was in need. I honestly didn’t expect a scene like that and found very touching.

    Holy shit man great video! I love when people actually take the time to dig into Nero's character and see what makes him tic instead of just dismissing him as a knock-off of Dante just because he has a cocky attitude. A few little details regarding Nero's inferiority you may have missed from the novel is 1)Nero also lost Kyrie and Credo's parents to demons which, along with utterly shattering what little faith he had left also stirred up his desire for strength and was another motivator in him joining Credo as a knight of The Order aside from his admiration for his adoptive elder brother. 2) Nero's secret jobs for the Order often had him having to hunt/cut down people he knew in his life who were possessed by demons and couldn't be saved. He didn't particularly want to do this but he didn't want anyone else to suffer having to do so he often sucked it up and did the deed(adding both to his negative perception of himself and feelings of powerlessness being unable to save others). 3) While he didn't particularly get along with them, he lost quite a few comrades while on team missions and is part of the reason he usually does work alone. 4) By the events of 4 and 5, it's implied he had a feeling that Dante may have been his father but didn't want to press the issue for a few reasons so when Dante called him deadweight, not only did he remember his inferiority and failures, a part of him felt he'd been thrown away yet again. And finally 5) He also feels the entire incident that happens in Redgrave was his fault because along with disappointing Dante and feeling guilty he broke the man's trust in him by getting Yamato and his arm taken, his weakness allowed all this loss of life and destruction to begin with. So, yeah, long story short, Nero been kicked around ALOT by life so him finally coming into his own by the end of 5 a more confident and put-together person feels extremely satisfying.

    I have a thought, it involes Dante's shop itself devil may cry i don't know if anyone else though of this but the shop itself may have a symbolic value besides the fact of how character's question if devils cry since dante cried for Vergil. It could rather be a symbol for the series as a whole as we constanly see Dante in debt only ever seeming "to find a job" when a game comes out. A good example is DMC5 as we see the shop with the lights out and Dante just sleeping in it as he hasn't had a job in a while, which could be seen as how we ourselves have not had a game in years. Which could indicate that while Dante gets "jobs to keep the lights running" we get "games to keep the series running". Just an interesting idea I had.

    Nero has always felt like the perfect balance/mix of Dante and Virgil, possessing qualities from both of them while also still being his own person, namely being better at more healthily expressing his emotions and desires than the two sons of Sparda. I honestly believe Nero will surpass Dante and Vergil someday as the dude has serious power growth potential. I mean in the span of a MONTH, Nero, with the help of his Devil Breakers, went from being jobbed by Urizen to being the FIRST ONE in the DMC crew to actually cut Urizen, something not even Dante could do even with the Sparda until Dante unlocked his SIN Devil Trigger. We can’t forget that at this time, not only did Nero essentially get nerfed by losing his Devil Bringer abilities, but he also seemed to lose a majority of his demonic power which makes sense as multiple bosses/characters bring up that he basically has no demonic power, so by this point, Nero was just a physical superhuman with robot arms and nothing more and yet he essentially surpassed Sparda wielding DT Dante…. THATS INSANE. Then of course he finally unlocked his base DT and was able to now scrap with SIN DT Dante and Vergil. Just imagine how strong he’d be if he unlocked his SIN DT!! I can imagine him having four ethereal demon wings/hands
    It’s also kind of hinted that Nero still possesses some power from the Yamato as you can see him wielding an ethereal version of it when performing Showdown so imagine if Nero actually practiced and learned to use more of the Yamato’s abilities. He could learn to open portal or even separate things using his ethereal version of the Yamato.

    After rewatching the final scenes of DMC5(at least 20 times; game is too good), I find it very endearing from Vergil and Dante to head into the Demon Realm and leaving Nero behind. Cause even if they stay in the human world, they wouldn't be able to live much of a peaceful life.
    Dante and Vergil are basically "veterans"; just like how some war vets have a hard time coming back into society, so would Dante and Vergil. Living a peaceful life is just a dream that can never be realized, because fighting is all Dante and Vergil know; it is their life.
    But Nero still has a chance; to live a peaceful life in the Human Realm. So, knowing that Nero is capable of taking care of himself and the Human Realm, they two Brothers will be able to go off to do what they only know: fight. But not without reason. If they ever return, they at least have something worth coming back to.

No evidence to support your argument, dialog and story to support mine. No where stated he was holding back and he admitted he lost. This is even ignoring the special interactions like catching Vergil mid-air or just air slamming him like a rag doll, even when he's SIN DT.

    Nero is what happens if you take the best aspects of Dante and Virgil's personalities and put them into one well adjusted person.

  • @WFanatic502
    @WFanatic502 3 роки тому +3

    I could draw parallels between Nero's upbringing and my own. I was adopted. My birth father just sorta left, and my birth mother couldn't raise me herself. She was already on welfare. She just couldn't afford it. I grew up being emotionally manipulated by my adopted parents. Bullied throughout school. I became isolated. My autism probably didn't help. I still struggle with feelings of inferiority. A lack of people who unambiguously love me in my life also plays a big role in how I developed. I suspect if Nero didn't find Kyrie... he could've been exactly like Vergil. Possibly worse. Developing a "Fuck the world, watch it burn" mentality. He found that one person that showed him how it feels to be human. And by doing so, she gave him a reason for his own existence. Protect those he holds dear. Sorta like Dante. Although I suspect if the world itself was in fact threatened, Nero would be a lot more willing than Dante to step up and save it. Because he knows there are people in it worth saving. Depending how much he embraces his humanity, he could become that demonic hero that Dante borders on. Just my take on things. Given Nero's personality, I can see him being a lot more altruistic. Thoughts?

  • @freezred
    @freezred 5 років тому +9

    Nero wanted power to protect, I'm glad they retained that from Kyrie in 4 to Dante and Vergil in 5.

    There is an honesty I love in Nero, Dante and Vergil are acting in a sense, hiding their true emotions, playing up their Personas, but Nero is honest with who he is, what he can do, what he desires, is this honesty that crashes and ends the Sparda's family fight

  • @Sioolol

    It terms of character development, Vergil still has a lot of potential. I still cant shake a feeling something radicaly changed in him after the end of DMC5. His self-reflection and a bit of melancholia never were seen from him in the entire series, which is an amazing opportunity to lead him to finaly accepting his human part, as Dante accepted his demon side. And Nero still havent revealed his sin devil trigger. Damn, I want DMC 6 so badly.
    I hope it will happen and wont be another 10 years like last time...

    As much as I LOVE Dante, but since you mentioned how Vergil’s motivation for power is static, I realised how static Dante’s motivation is as well. Nero seems to be the only evolving character between the three. This is just my opinion and what I’ve noticed.

  • @4LeafedDragon

    Something I noticed is how V and Vergil speak to Nero. V made a remark to Dante after the latter told the former to "leave Nero out of this," V said that "if you could defeat Urizen... then I never would have dreamed of using that child," possibly implying that V wouldn't have wanted to involve Nero if he could have. When Vergil left to go to the top of the Qliphoth he looks back to Nero for a moment to softly say "Thank you" to Nero, at the beginning of the fight between Nero and Vergil the latter tells the former "This has nothing to do with you. Stand down" still having a softer tone of voice, and when Nero uses Red/Yellow Orb(s) to get back into the fight Vergil calls Nero a "Fool." This could imply that, at least as V, Vergil knew that Nero was his son, Vergil doesn't seem to know how to properly react/behave as a father for Nero, even seemingly avoiding/rejecting the subject of being Nero's father when Dante brought it up during their fight (either out of shame of what he did to Nero, or because he doesn't want to face his responsibility as Nero's father).

    • @Dubious_Kieran
      @Dubious_Kieran 4 роки тому +2

      Or more likely that he sees the responsibility and feelings of love to be "Human" and therefore weak. Remember that Vergil had attempted to shed himself of his humanity and still dwells on the loss of his mother.

  • @fannynearfyi789
    @fannynearfyi789 5 років тому +3

    10:24 Maybe my theory could have a lot of gaps, but I don't really believe that Nero's mother would abandoned Nero on purpose. I've always thought that Nero's mother was killed by the Order (Or at least, those ones that followed some similar objective to Sanctus) because, think of it, if a parishioner gave birth to a child with some kind of similarities to their god (at least in appearance) It would be a big long term obstacle to the Order and Sanctus plans.
    So after killed Nero's mother, they put him in the orphanage (Kill him was not an option because if he was really related to Sparda, he could be useful in the future) to keep him "controlled". An orphan with white hair, but that no one knows his origins and that probably was a son of a whore, it wouldn't have influence in Fortuna and their citizen. And this worked, because Nero always felt inferior in a way or another

    Vergil had opportunities to have what Nero had but he chose to go against it and strike out alone. Vergil mentions to Dante in DMC3 how he can't protect anything or anyone without power, hinting that the real reason he desperately grasps for power is because he doesn't want to lose his family either, the difference being, yeah he still tried to do it alone.
