    I find it so funny when you take apart a spider's completely webbed up home and then there's just a roach or other prey living in it like it's the most ordinary thing.
    "Yeah. I belong here. I'm a spider."

    Couldn't believe there were over 30 slings in that small container ! Goes to show that balfouri definitely have a higher tolerance to others of their kind as opposed to most other Ts out there. Simply stunning. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

    Just wanted to say thank you for your videos - I was arachnophobic and would splat them out of fear and feeling unable to remove them.
    Well, I had a (for me) relatively large spider in my room last night and went calm, recited your mantra and found a tub saying “got my catch cup, now let’s shift the little beastie back outside” 😂 so thank you for helping me overcome my fear and appreciate these wonderful creatures

    When I started the tarantula hobby 16 months ago I didn't know they could be kept together. Knowing what I know now I would have started with the M balfouri!!! One big enclosure with a ton of spiders!!! I only have room for 10 enclosures (tiny apartment lol). A tank the size of my 8 enclosures would be massive! 100 adult M balfouri massive! All the regrets!!!! (p.s. I still love all of my different colors/colours of tarantulas) 4 Caribena versicolor (s?), Brachypelma boehmei(s?), Neoholothele incei sp Olive (female!), Grammostola pulchripes (s?), and my Tlitlocatl albopilosus (female!).

      Thats the beauty of the Balfouri ,a colony does not need that much space to be effective in fact they do better being kept close together to stop any aggression amongst them .

    What an awesome video. I've always been fascinated by balfouri but always been put off by the whole communal thing and I haven't really done much research into whether they can be kept solo or not, I'm assuming they probably can. They don't seem to be very skittish or bolty from what I've seen on UA-cam videos which I definitely prefer lol.

    Aye, they're cute little fuzzies with wee tiny fangs. Quick as lighting too! Those would be fun to watch them grow and web that enclosure, Dave. They are so doggone fascinating to me, guess that's why I love arachnids. Still to chilly here in the mountains to order yet for me, but one thing I've learned as I've gotten, ahem, elderly (LoL), is patient. Lots of patients. I love playing practical jokes on him. He absolutely freaks when he sees a snake. But we have Eastern Rattle snakes, Copperheads, and Cotton Mouths, all venomous. But we also have non-venomous snakes here as well. I've finally think I've taught him to recognize them so he doesn't shoot those. We also have Black Bears, Bobcats, Puma, Cayotes, White Tail Deer, Elk, Wolves, and really mean feral Hogs around these mountains. Some also come into town. It's fairly rural where I live. Close enough for country living and close enough to big cities such as Atlanta (two hour drive south) if you have to a big city.

Well actually bought and paid for. They will be delivered on Tuesday by FedEx. I'm like a kid right now, Dave. Steve with Arachnoiden was a fantastic help since he recently had his website reprogrammed and between our emails back and forth for two days I was able to order. It was pretty funny really. I'd try to order and couldn't and he's find the problem and getvtgat fixed and is try again and find a new problem and email him and he'd get that fixed. Back and forth a few more times and voila` I was able to order! It was wacky and will be memorable. Kind funny it happened to me. I'll let you know how delivery day will be since they are being delivered to my workplace...that will be fun😲😲 I can imagine my co-workers now...lol! 🕷🕸🕷

      @daveslittlebeasties  3 роки тому +1

      That 20x20x20 enclosure is more than adequate at this size in fact they need to be kept in close contact with each other and this stops them becoming territorial within the enclosure , once they are an inch or so in size they will be moved to a larger enclosure , to much space to early can be detrimental to there wellbeing 👍
