This is going to help so many people, both in real life and in sims! Good work. Maybe you need nonlinear dampers/springs for that long wheelbase ;)

Thanks mate. I did pick up some tips from this. I'm just doing khanacross now in my 97 WRX but have good suspension and haven't touched the settings yet. Now I'm keen to play a bit and what you say makes sense. Adjustable diff ramps are a bit out of my league though😀

was told as a simplistic theory on gravel as hard as you can get away with, and or tarmac as soft as you can get away with. chasing this theory will give a more compliant car.

Do you change the suspension settings when driving the same stage second time? usually the roads are very rutted by then - does that possibly mean less rebound in suspension would help with more grip in the ruts?

Just to show that there is not proper setup and it all depends on the driver.
I like having a more "closed" diff in the back because it rotates and pushes the car through the corner. The front diff simply helps keep the car from spinning around.A more "closed" diff in the front creates too much understeer on power. It might be "safe" but certainly slower.
My suspension is different as well. I go for the stiffest setup possible because soft suspension means more weight transfer and the car feels heavy and sloppy around the corners.

On gravel stages, are the rear diffs more locked than the front? and what is it like for asphalt - opposite?

If I want a little more dive under braking in my ep91 starlet should I move the rear inner pivot of my front suspension down?

im not a damn engineer, but every racing game is like "bro, just do calculus"
i just need maximum turn-in on corner entry and a balance. if it won't understeer, ill figure the rest out driving. ive raced to the moon and back in millage in the sim and i STILL can do nothing but know when the setup is right! i can't set up a car to save my life! trying to get an F1 car to turn right now, and the thing is a fat cow!
