DJI AVATA: Conquers Tunnels & Cliff Dives!

- Take a journey through Atlanta's Westside Reservoir Park with the DJI Avata. The park covers over 300 acres and is situated on top of the historic Bellwood Quarry, which was once a major source of granite for the city's buildings and monuments.
Interestingly, the quarry was also a filming location for a pivotal scene in the popular TV series "The Walking Dead."
In the video, I'll take you on a thrilling ride as we fly through tunnels and dive off cliffs over the edge of the 800ft waters in the quarry.

Hey, thanks so much! I'm seeing these comments so late
wow
looks really good!
🤗🤗
Good job
Hey, thanks a lot! I have to get back to it, been too long since I made a video here
Nice
Thanks a lot!
Those tunnel runs had me clinching! Nice flying. Great subtle sound editing too.
Man, I really appreciate it! Trying to find creative ways to make and everyday park seem exciting hahaha
It’s the little things. That sound as he went thru the tunnels was a plus. Great job
Once again, Great video!
Beautiful flight paths and flight skills. This is inspiring to watch and makes me want to practice my skills even more. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you SO much! It did take me a few months to get enough guts to try shots like this! You'll be flying like this in no time just watch hahaha
Awesome flying!! Great job!
Beautiful flight and beautiful colors!
Man, I really appreciate it!
Pretty cool flight & video!!! That tunnel fly through was AWESOME!!!
I was debating on doing it but I said the worst that could happen is I would have to crawl in there and the water level was pretty low so I said why not 🤣. Thanks a lot man!
cool ! good job ;-)
I really appreciate it!
Keep killing it dude!
Thanks a lot man!
Awesome spot to fly 😮 and excellent flying I’ll subscribe ❤ nice work man
Thanks a lot! Yeah it's a great spot to fly and not really bother anyone
Stunning flying, filming and editing. You have a new subscriber. Well done
I really appreciate it! Do you have the Avata also?
Turn the saturation and highlight down a bit, everything else perfect
Ah, you nailed it! So here's what happened - my phone was on 'night time' mode while I was editing, which made the screen dim. That fooled me into cranking up the exposure. Had a 'facepalm' moment when I saw it afterwards! 😆 Thanks for pointing it out!
pretty new to drone piloting in general, but bought the Avata and of course it's amazing! What setting do I have to turn off so it doesn't freak out in small areas, try to correct itself, & crash?
Was this all with the motion controller? Great work. Its nice to see videos that entertain without trying to sell you stuff.
Thanks a lot for checking out the video man! Yes this is all with the motion controller + headtracking. I really want the FPV normal controller but just haven't gotten around to getting it yet
@@jonred233 my Avata was delivered today. Sadly I am away with work and won’t be home until Saturday. I bought the goggles integra and M2 for my mini 3 pro. I am having too much fun, but had to get the avata before I killed the mini 3 pro.
Good video man. Were you flying in manual with the controller or were you using the motion controller ?
LOVE! Questions from a budding avata pilot: Did you use head tracking? It looked at a few spots like maybe you did, to accentuate the angle of the shots. And: Did you do any video speed increase? Trying to figure it out.. looked like perhaps you did do maybe 150% or so at some spots. Excellent!!
Hey sorry for the late response! Thanks so much for checking the video out. Yes, I was using head-tracking, I use that on just about every flight because it can give you much more dynamic shots in my opinion. I did a speed ramp at the beginning of the video when I was approaching that building next to the quarry, but other than that it was all at the actual filmed speed. Have fun with man I know you have to love the Avata! I think it's great for UA-cam or fullscreen content like this, but the footage doesn't seem to come out as great when posting to social media like IG reels. It comes out very muddy for some reason. Otherwise, I can't enough of the Avata!
Just found your channel. Your videos are great! Curious if you had to take the license to fly or as long as you are within restricted zones, it's all good. I might invest on avata, just looking at your clips.
Appreciate it man! I did go ahead and get the part 107 just so I can do paid jobs. But this park and the whole area is open air space so anyone can fly there without any issues.
Yeah man I love the Avata, my channel is basically all the Avata. I have to start posting more Mini 3 footage from time to time lol
What software do you edit with ? Thank you
Is this the avata camera footage or a mounted GoPro? Are you using ND filters and/or polarisers .. the colours are unreal!!
Just brilliant 🤩
This is the Avata footage, I did have a ND 8 on for some portions! Helps a ton. I watched the intro shot on TV and it's overexposed 😅. Thank you so much!
How do you get that much range? ... I use the Goggles V2 with my Avata, and I get nowhere close to that kind of range you're getting! .. But nice smooth flying though!
If you're european then probably you have it locked to EU power. If so, jsut know that you can unlock it very easily.
Fantastic flight, very smooth. Are you using D-Cinelike? The colors are great, but the dynamic range is a bit narrow. Could just be the Avata's camera, that's one area where GoPro knocks it out of the park. I'd love to know what settings you used, flight mode included.
Thank you so much! I'm using the normal color profile. Unfortunately Im currently doing all editing on the mobile version of CapCut because my laptop isn't powerful enough to run any of the popular desktop programs. I used one of their "Pro" filters.
I'm using the motion controller with head tracking. ISO 100/. Shutter 1/120 at 60 FPS. I've stopped using the onboard stabilization a while back and only use gyroflow now. It does such a great job at smoothing everything out
Great Video. Was this filmed with the motion controller? Keep up the amazing work!
I'm so sorry I'm seeing this late! Yes, I'm using the motion controller. I do plan to get the FPV controller soon here though!
Thanks a lot!
I can't see any cliff dive
Starting at 3:21 i was dropping almost straight down.
@@jonred233 it's not a dive
