- During a recent flight with the Avata, the drone's impressive range allowed for an exciting tour of some of Atlanta's most iconic destinations: Old Fourth Ward Park, Ponce City Market, and the Beltline.
Old Fourth Ward Park is a 17-acre greenspace that has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years. Once an industrial wasteland, the park now boasts a playground, splash pad, skatepark, and a two-acre lake that doubles as a stormwater management system. It is also a popular venue for community events, including festivals and concerts.
Ponce City Market is a landmark building that was once home to the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building. Today, it has been transformed into a bustling marketplace and food hall that offers a diverse selection of restaurants and shops. The building's architecture blends both the historic and modern, and it features rooftop amusement park rides and breathtaking views of the city.
The Beltline is a former railway corridor that is now a multi-use trail that connects Atlanta's neighborhoods. The trail spans over 22 miles and is known for its vibrant public art installations, including murals and sculptures. Along the path, visitors can enjoy various businesses, including restaurants, bars, and shops.

Man that’s a sweet ass park.. I’m really enjoying my avata.. I bought it to start implementing it in with my other real estate work and construction projects. Cheers
Excellent content. Your paths and editing are sick. I am getting my Avata in a couple days. Thank you for creating.
Man the confidence the Avata gives the pilot is insane. If my M3P could make it out that far I still wouldn’t but with the Avata it makes sense.
Real Smooth... Great Music... And the locations were perfect. Kept me leaning into the screen. Great Job
I really appreciate it man! I need to start getting like you and putting myself in front of the camera to talk about things
Awesome video. O4W is one of Atlanta's best neighborhoods. Thanks for sharing.
It really is! Has grown so much over the past few years. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
Dang, man that was awesome! There were a few people in the beginning looking up probably thinking they were being invaded... lol Great stuff, buddy...
Hahah I just rewatching and saw them, I was paying more attention to the business dudes on top of the building more who were staring like crazy lol
Thanks a lot man!
Very Nice
Awesome video! What camera is this footage from?
Sorry I'm just seeing this! This is from the stock camera
@@jonred233 no worries, thanks for the reply 👍🏼
No words can do this fantastic flight justice. Just amazing is all I can say.
ahhh man I appreciate that so much! Thanks for checking it out. We've had some unseasonably warm weather these past 2 months!
Super smooth. This really shows the potential of this little drone. May I ask for your control settings. I am more on the aggressive fly style so far with mine and I should more slow down. New subscriber 😊
Hey thanks a lot! I was doing a lot of the "fast and low" videos at first too but lately I've been trying to make them a bit more long range and cinematic. Most videos I see online are people in their backyard or in an empty field so I wanted to try something different.
As far as settings I hate to say that I'm still using this darn motion controller, but with headtracking you can still pull of some pretty good shots!
beautiful flight
Thanks a lot man!
really incredible flight and footage. What goggles and antennae are you using?
crazy video
Thanks a lot man!
Are you using stock goggles, or did you add any new antennas?
the video looks great! With which camera did you record these shots with the avata's or some other mounted on the drone?
This is the stock camera! I just tried my best to get the exposure and frame rate right
nice ! and incredible strong signal, can you imagine how strong the system must be not even between buildings any signal loss ! Wonder how healthy it is to wear those goggles with such a strong signal :(
nice video😊
Thank you 😃
great video! what name is video music ?
Where do you fron
oldguyFPV says; Nice!
Thanks a lot!
Impressive as you were pretty low at times.
Yeah I was really surprised. That park gets awesome signal. Thanks for checking out the video!
Which controller are (did) you use?
Hey how's it going. I'm still using this darn motion controller. Haven't gotten around to getting the FPV controller just yet
Don’t get me wrong I love the video, but it is an example of what not to to unless you got a waiver. I doubt you spotter was able to see it at all times and flying over crowds at bars is also a no no without a waiver from the FAA.
These were multiple clips at different time periods with spotters in close proximity on each pass. We fly in groups of multiple people . If you watch that clip again, you'll see I'm never directly over anyone's head, I'm either over the rooftop or the edge of the building. Gyroflow zooms in for stabilization, so it appears I'm closer than I am. Clips were part of a larger project for a Ponce City Market Instagram campaign of skyline Park
@@jonred233 thanks for clarifying. Unfortunately many novices watch the video. Perhaps a statement in the beginning that states what you just told me would be helpful for the beginners. Thanks again
@@renscience Yeah that's definitely a good call. We don't want to give the FAA any more excuses for stricter remote pilot laws.
@@jonred233 I spent 27 years in the FAA. Hold various credentials. What most are never taught, is that for over 110 years, the government does not care if you go out and kill yourself operating aircraft or anything else for that matter. They are obligated to get interested if someone on the ground gets affected or if property gets damaged. Even in commercial aviation we used to have a saying “ you can kill as many as you want, as long it’s 9 or less at a time”. All aviation regulation logic is based on this. In the past usually fairly serious people committed to learning to fly. Even RC’s. With drones ( modern RC) anyone can buy a cheap flying machine, not climb in it and not risk themselves, and bomb around the universe. This is more aggravated by a ridiculous media hailing everything fielded in the past 20 years as the standard of knowledge (chatgpt for example) disregarding that this so called “tech” has been around for a long time. RC airplanes…1930’s, cell phones…1955, linking computers (internet) 1960’s, etc etc.
Came here to same the same thing. As one of those old school FPV guys that built quads back in the Open Pilot days, this is the kind of eye catching footage that needs a disclaimer about the safety and legality of the flight. The early DIY nature of this hobby meant there was once a filter for responsible flying, with a huge time/knowledge investment, but now anybody can plunk down cash for a long range HD FPV Cine-whoop and fly with little training or regards to safety. Btw I work in tech in Silicon Valley, playing with Chat GPT and AI art and yeah it's amazing, but I'm old enough to be worried about the larger ramifications for all this tech advancing so fast.
I can’t fly mine when there is a hint of wind. Is it ever windy where you’re at 😂 Well done!
🤣 me either! This was one of those rare days where there wasn't even the slightest breeze. The flag on top of the market was even motionless
Me in Hungary can fly 50meter away at city, and the signa will be lost🙃
Are you flying by a lot of obstacles?
@@jonred233 I bought this drone for working so yeah.. Mostly i recording indoor but i need to change position commonly because i lost the signal
