Right on. Plus Dennis genuinely love's Norm's comedy. Spade, Conan, and Howard were all good straight-men for Norm, but none of them stuck with him like Dennis. Only Letterman comes close.

Miller always plays smart, because he's a hack. Macdonald never acts smarter than anyone, because tha'ts not where good comedy comes from. Miller is terrible, pretty easy to see in retrospect which of these two has actual talent.

I was fortunate to see Norm about 3 times live.
The last time was 2019 pre covid and the lineup was
Norm, David Spade and Dennis Miller.
    Norm opened and he Killed.
Spade came on next and was basically like "I'm in between two comic geniuses, what can I do?"
Miller closes, which I thought was a great sign of respect from the Norm and Spade.
The end of the show all 3 came out and took some Crowd questions. The line started to fill up and about 20 questions were asked.
At least 15 were specifically directed at Norm. He even made a joke about it at Spade's expense.
    One great night of comedy.

OMG. This is hands down the funniest unhinged off the wall comedy ever. These two just naturally connect and fly off the script with Ad-lib creativity. This left me in stitches I was laughing so hard. Sure miss Norm. RIP.

After a 10 minute riff on cocks, he's like, "Does that answer your question?" That's why Norm's a legend.

Lance1972 I think for most comedy fans Norm is the best weekend update host of all time, by a wide margin. Maybe you just haven’t seen the right episodes. I’d recommended watching some clips now, and see if you still have the same opinion.

what a trip norm is, he's so disconnected and weird that he makes you think he's just some loopy guy, but really he's dropping references to old time hollywood that you don't even recognize. burt mustin, look him up, the over 40 crowd will recognize him from the old black and white shows.
