Is it worth it? Planet Fitness was very useful to me when I was homeless. Took showers, slept in the massage chair, woke up and went to work the next day.
Worth it to me. Everything I need to get a good workout. I do some things at home but there are some things I use at planet fitness I can't do at home. Overall works for me.
I love planet fitness…4-6 pm is too busy for me…I worked out around 2 am and I was basically the only there….I don’t care what anyone says…for $10 a month you can’t go wrong
i've heard nightmare stories about Planet Fitness so I was reluctant to try it out, but because I was moving in a couple months I just wanted something close to home and cheap until I can move and find another gym. I've been training there for a couple months and can honestly say I havent experienced anything crazy yet. Their lack of barbells kind of stinks but if you arent worried about barbell training then they have dumbells that get close to 90lbs i believe. Their cardio machines are really nice and there's so many that you will probably never have to wait for one unless it's the row or one of the bikes
I liked how you said differently able. It has been years since I've gone to the gym or been the "fittest". But I'm definitely ready to start my journey again 💪
It’s better to workout here rather than never going at all. You can’t tell me if you maxed out every weight in this gym that it wouldn’t be beneficially
I use PF regularly & am a Black Card member. It fits in well w/my travel schedule & I can shower there so long as I work out 1st. Staff have been friendly toe so far. At locations where they're open 24 hours, I tend to work out later at night.
Is it worth it? I would say yes. Its easily the least expensive gym in my area. It has lots of high quality, relatively new equipment. In my case, it is less than a mile away. My wife went there for a while for these reasons, and I went as a guest a couple times. But I find myself commenting here simply because I became aware of the “Lunk Alarm” and discovered that some people are disturbed by people carrying around gallon water jugs. This sort of sums up why I do not go there. It is more or less a “starter” gym and you will grow beyond its limitations long before you reach your fitness goals. I understand that a gym might be a scary place. You don’t know what you are doing and possibly self conscious in some way. Yes, I get it. I remember that. But at 55 and having been a gym customer for about 20 years, I can say simply just be patient. You will get over it. I find the lunk alarm ridiculous. If you think carrying around excessive water is offensive, you have never really had a good work-out. A good work-out is one where you feel better and stronger than you thought was possible. As a life-long cyclist, a good ride on a hot day requires about a half gallon per hour. Do you really want to use the water fountain? Yes, slamming weights is annoying. Its bad form at best. But a “lunk alarm”? Come-on. That’s dumb. Is that giant guy or gal in the corner kind of scary? Maybe so. My suggestion is watch him or her. What you will learn is a real human can do impressive things, not just something on TV. Just knowing that a real person can move 200 pounds easily, maybe you shouldn’t be so afraid of 75. The gym I go to is not particularly “cool”. Its no spa. They could use a re-model. The equipment is good, but worn. The fees are roughly $30/Mo. But it does have a pool, sauna and lots of classes. Don’t be afraid of that super-fit person. Make them your friend. Just say hello and ask how to use a machine if you have a question. You will learn from it and understand that real people do this stuff and you can do it too. All I would say is definitely pick a gym. Even Planet Fitness. Our sedentary culture is killing us. Im just suggesting you will grow out of planet fitness before you grow into yourself. Don’t be afraid of ones with a few “lunks”. Just remember, when you do finally hit some fitness goals in the months ahead, doesn’t mean its OK to drop your weights.
Y’know I’m not even gonna watch the video cause this comment is exactly what I needed to say fuck it and just get the membership. It’s the closet gym to me and I need the exercise regardless of their “lunk alarm” which probably won’t apply to me anyways. I realize I have to put in work to achieve my goals and planet fitness will probably help me the most as a beginner just because of their beginner first mentality.
I have to disagree. I love that they discourage bodybuilding weight-dropping musclebound showoffs. There are plenty of gyms for that with wall to wall mirrors so they can admire their rippling abs and bulging pecs. This gym seeks to be welcoming to people who are disabled, elderly, beginners yes BUT if you aren't obnoxious grunting and dropping weights you are welcome as well. I think it's great there are gyms for every type of people.
@@twitterdeepdive2911 Then it isn't the gym for you my friend. There are plenty of powerlifting gyms that don't care if you drop weights. PF is good for a gym beginner, someone on a tight budget, if there is no other gym within reasonable driving distance, or someone who isn't dedicated to working out. If you're an intermediate/advanced lifter who actually wants to put on muscle mass or increase power, then pass this one up since they don't have the means/don't allow one to do regular bench-presses, barbell squats, or deadlifts (IE: the three must-do exercises for any strength/muscle building workout program). The pizza and bagel days are just another way to undermine the willpower of those who aren't fully dedicated to perfecting their body and fitness level.
Yeah some other people have mentioned the lack of weights/barbells for advanced weightlifting, and I think that is something to keep in mind. Would you think planet fitness would be a good fit for a person fairly skilled at calisthenics but terrified of gyms? I wouldn't be doing that type of stuff there, I just suffer from gymphobia and I was thinking that place would help me get over my fears. I also don't use weights or machines so I thought that'd be a good place to start(I don't know what I can lift tbh)
I think PF is a good gym for people who are scared of the gym. Personally, I didn't feel much intimidation at this gym, but it would still probably be a little scary at first. There is just a lot of equipment, so you kind of get lost in the equipment and don't feel like people are watching you. I know people have described it as a starter gym for people just getting into going to the gym.
I went there today and I realized two things(. 1 Staff aren't as friendly as they seem on the phone 2 Victims have victims. I'll explain I watched a older man stare down two women who looked fresh out of high school and those two women were staring me down which was kind of uncomfortable. Victims have victims (El Paso-Montana)
Planet fitness is great for beginners. It made me feel less insecure when I went in and saw a bunch of out of shape people. I fit right in. Now I go to the gym 4 times a week. If you are already in shape and know how to use all the equipment it's not the best place.
I haven’t hit the gym since high school lol. I’m tryin to get back into shape but I forgot how to lift and what to do. Is there any trainers to help you get started? PS I’m not sure if that was your gym but you just showed everyone which one you are going to just a heads up. Not tryin to be creepy just FYI.
I'm not familiar with a lot of specific trainers, that is something I also have to look into. But, I usually just look up weightlifting programs online. Some websites I would suggest are Muscle and Strength www.muscleandstrength.com/workout-routines and Muscle and Fitness www.muscleandfitness.com/workout-plan/workouts/workout-routines/complete-mf-beginners-training-guide-plan/ because they have good plans for free! But there are so many options that can help you get a feel of what your sets should look like. Hope that helps! Also, this is not the gym I usually go to! Thank you for looking out for me though :)
@@RoseontheRun I ended up applying for their black card membership and they have personal trainers that can make a specific workout plan for you. I’m hyped lol. Thanks for your awesome review, hopefully you and I are strong AF this time next year lol. Cheers
To be clear not all membership prices are the same all the time. Right Im seeing $1 down and $10 a month with no commitment. There is also a $39 a year fee. Thats the basic plan. Black card is the same except $10 down and $25 a month.
So I've got a situation. I signed up for a SC location and the showers are not being cleaned properly, tiny flies everywhere, disgusting ! The same mess in the stalls for days, same hair balls, soap scum, and flies... Days at a time. I've spoke to some of the crew and was told they have a hard time finding someone to clean it. They also let me know quite a few have complained. Today I went in and guess what ? Same crap. Spoke to manager on duty and was told a girl cleans it daily. I told her that this employee's work was not acceptable and that same hairballs were in the shower stalls daily. She then says : " corporate comes in weekly to inspect and have found everything acceptable ! " I asked her if corporate was blind ? Is there any leeway to switch to a different location ? Not real impressed when I see reviews for Planet Fitness corporate office. It's pretty sad that you pay a maintenance fee and you have to beat away annoying flies while showering !
This is a good point. If you are looking for a gym to do intense weightlifting at, Planet Fitness may not be a good fit. However, Planet Fitness is a good gym for beginners looking to dip their toes into fitness. There are assisted barbells, but you are right they don't have free standing barbells available. Thank you for commenting on that!
I immediately noticed that too when scouting it out, as other comments pointed out it's missing some seemingly small but key pieces of equipment, not to mention anything even resembling free weights has a rather low weight ceiling available to it from what I saw. There defiantly seems to be a logic of avoiding equipment or weights that would require spotting or interaction with the staff (which is limited), along with them probably being scared of liability if someone over-weighted themselves with free weights and hurt themselves. Sadly the way it seems to be set up seems to work against being friendly in my opinion and doesn't seem like a place that would encourage community bonding (outside of bonding over pizza and bagels), I COULD be wrong though but again looking at the setup and atmosphere that's the impression I get. While your mileage will vary with other gyms, I often hear people praise the folks to go to them and point out that actual bodybuilders and those who might be considered "gum bros" are actually quite friendly on average, and helpful (which when pursuing serious exercise it's good to have support).
Planet fitness is ok, most of the people do not clean the machines after they used. I liked planet fitness but I'm afraid to get sick. they have dry brown paper every where but people do not use it.
Planet fitness is awful. Sure it’s cheap, it has decent equipment, but the stupidity of their policies has made me want to quit. Let me share my experience: PF has a policy of No Personal Training allowed. I am in pretty decent shape. My wife however has gained close to 100lbs after breaking her back in an accident and also surviving breast cancer. We were given instructions from her physical therapist that we can take to any gym and work out on our own. I was helping her do the exercises so she doesn’t injure herself when I was approached by the 19 year old snotty college kid telling us there is no personal training allowed. I told her that this is my wife and I need to help her exercise so she doesn’t injure herself. The girl said, “im just doing as im told, and I was told that if it looks like personal training then it IS personal training” We were absolutely disgusted. PF is suppose to be the judgement free zone yet we were judged because we look like an unlikely pair.
I am so sorry that happened to you :( I really appreciate people leaving honest information about PF policies and other things like this so others can see it. Having more information is always better, so people can make more informed decisions. I hope you were able to find a gym that works for you!

PF is unethical. To cancel, you are required to jump through UNNECESSARY hoops that you won’t find when canceling other subscriptions. They make cancellation NEEDLESSLY difficult. This is is with the intent of dragging money out of your account because you are too busy to jump through their hoops.
I’ve always hated planet fitness. It’s good for beginners, but I think it’s best to go to an actual gym like gold’s gym. Planet fitness is supposed to be a judgement free gym, but it’s the most judgemental gym I’ve been to. There’s too many ways to get kicked out. I’ve hear people have been kicked out because their muscles are too big and it can scare people from joining. They also have that lunk alarm for if you get too loud. Real gyms like Gold’s is way less judgmental. Gym Bros are some of the nicest people. If something sees you struggling someone will usually come over to spot you. They don’t care if you’re out of shape, because you’re both there for the same reason, to impossible yourself. It may seem scary, but it’s definitely worth going to a real gym.
WTH is their obsession w the gym being a "judgment free" zone?? Is that some social problem I'm unaware of...being judged while working out?? They also told me they don't have scales because of this commitment. Commitment to what? Being hyper sensitive?? Annoying.
You can't go by reviews. Some are biased others just bs. I was looking Retro and Planet. Found the exact same review on both web site. Shove all reviews. They're worthless. Join a gym. I'm sure they all have a 30 day trial period. Cancel if you don't like them. Yes, of course, exceedingly clean. Lol
"I'ma have to compete with some gym bros for some weights" nope. They have no free weights so gym bros don't go to it. (Btw Smith machines are *dangerous* and don't train the stabilisers so you should absolutely use free weights instead)
You don't need to worry about competing with gym bros at pizza planet.Gym bros don't go to pizza planet to workout.Kidding aside this place is great for someone just starting out .

best time at planet fitness is early in the morning- before 6 am
Thank you for letting me know! That may be a little too early for me, but it is good information to share :)
I wish I could go that early!
Do you have to be fully va.xxed and boosted to join?
I don't think so. But getting vaxxed and boosted helps your community and keeps people safe! ☺️
No
@@RoseontheRun lies lol 😂
I go to PF and it is well worth it to me!
Very cool. I love the Sun Tan Ultraviolet Lights. Thank Gangs.
Do you know anything about getting a personal trainer? 21 yr old gunshot victim who doesn’t know where to start with weight lifting
Please do a planet fitness class and vlog it 🙏 always wondered what those are like
Someday I’ll join Planet Fitness to give it a try
You consider this the busy time? This is a slow day at my PF.
Can u use massage chairs as much as u want?
I never used the massage chairs, so I don't know. But, I hope you'd be able to use them as much as you want!
Cheers
Unless you're a muscle head or a hardcore gym goer, planet fitness should be fine for you. It's perfect for people who just want to get or stay fit
Works for me because my kiddo can work out for free. It’s near my house too.
To be clear not all membership prices are the same all the time. Right Im seeing $1 down and $10 a month with no commitment. There is also a $39 a year fee. Thats the basic plan. Black card is the same except $10 down and $25 a month.
are they
open 24hrs
Do you still have to wear a mask?
But do they have a Dance Room?….I just need a spot to JumpRope.
I'm not sure if the one I went to does, but some may have a space for that!
If it gets you off the couch and moving, it’s worth it.
Wow she is pretty girl..😍
PF is great for treadmill people like me 🏃
What city is this?
I have to figure the amount of (Ultraviolet light).
Where are you from
24.99 a month??? Those MOF’s used to be 9.99 a month. What happened??
I was on a plan through my insurance that was more expensive, but I think that normal amount is around $9.99!
Planet fitness has become the Wall mart of gyms.
Nah try the next up for budget they don’t have barbells which means less range of motion which means less gains
Planet Fitness needs Charging Station for 📱
Totally agree!
they got charging ports at mine but no charging station labeled specifically
Purple and yellow 🤔🤔🤔
i’m sorry but when you said competing with gym bros i laughed you had the wrong idea abt pf
Planet fitness is awful. Sure it’s cheap, it has decent equipment, but the stupidity of their policies has made me want to quit. Let me share my experience:
PF has a policy of No Personal Training allowed. The girl said, “im just doing as im told, and I was told that if it looks like personal training then it IS personal training”
We were absolutely disgusted.
I’m sorry this happened to y’all but it’s not all the Pf I’m sure
@@ashleyparker2708 PF takes the position that the rules come from cooperate while cooperate takes the position that all of their gyms are independently owned. Neither take accountability
I hope you complained to corporate.
@@camerokid78 I would, but I explained in a previous comment that PF takes the position that their rules come from cooperate, and cooperate takes the position that all of their gyms are independently owned and are subject to their own rules. Neither one take accountability
With black card you scan everything
PF is unethical. To cancel, you are required to jump through UNNECESSARY hoops that you won’t find when canceling other subscriptions. They make cancellation NEEDLESSLY difficult. This is is with the intent of dragging money out of your account because you are too busy to jump through their hoops.
I hate goin to planet fitness I’m a trucker I only shower here and use the Wi-Fi
This is not busy. It looks empty. I love Planet Fitness. They have everything what I need.
Gym bros at planet fitness? No ma'am, that is not a thing
So, I have only one question. How much Planet Fitness paid you for this advertisement? Covered as blogging ?
LOL unfortunately they paid me nothing to do this video
Me who is fat:
Also me: I'm gonna die here
i like planet fitness
WTH is their obsession w the gym being a "judgment free" zone?? Is that some social problem I'm unaware of...being judged while working out?? They also told me they don't have scales because of this commitment. Commitment to what? Being hyper sensitive?? Annoying.
You can't go by reviews. Some are biased others just bs. I was looking Retro and Planet. Found the exact same review on both web site. Shove all reviews. They're worthless.
Join a gym. I'm sure they all have a 30 day trial period. Cancel if you don't like them.
Yes, of course, exceedingly clean. Lol
What happened to my comment? It was an honest review and experience
Hi, it was a good review. I think your comments are still up, let me know if you can't see them.
Social distancing is not a thing.
Their called dumbbells💀💀💀
"I'ma have to compete with some gym bros for some weights" nope. They have no free weights so gym bros don't go to it. (Btw Smith machines are *dangerous* and don't train the stabilisers so you should absolutely use free weights instead)
Also most lifters wouldn't call dumbbells free weights ime.
You probably already know this though, but for those who don't in these comments.
❤
if you feel scared all the time u should get a gun a ccw
You don't need to worry about competing with gym bros at pizza planet.Gym bros don't go to pizza planet to workout.Kidding aside this place is great for someone just starting out .
When you began not allowing people in that didn’t get the veterinarian shot, that’s when I canceled the membership. 👋🏾💯
"Gym bro" and "Planet Fitness" don't belong in the same video. Everyone knows this.
Something is off
Planet fitness doesn’t hire anyone older than 25
No need for personal trainers anymore everything you need to know is on UA-cam

PF may not be the gym for me after all but the music was still 2000's and 90's mainstream there.
I loved Pearl jam in that gym played on the radio.
the machines look to near to each other... you can smell the next person
