Alright with all the drama around Act Bliz it's hard to talk about anything without mentioning that but all that put aside Diablo 2 feels likely little bit of admission Diablo 3 was a flawed Diablo game. I was there for that OH GOD Diablo 3 when it first came out was auction house with dungeon crawler tracked on 0_o wish I was joking. They patched Diablo 3 in to a good game over time but never a great game like Diablo 2. Think this is Blizzard going yea Diablo 4 going be like the older games ;) don't worry I hope!

If you're doing LK runs, you don't need to set it on /players 8. Set it on 7. Player count has break points for loot drops at 3, 5 and 7. Player counts at 2, 4, 6 and 8 have the same drop count as their previous number but the only difference is difficulty. Running on /players 8 will have the same drop count as /players 7 but the enemies will be harder. So, yeah, farm on /players 7.
actually, players 7 LK super chests have better rune drops than 8 because of how the static loot tables are populated.

A little Pro tip on finding the right tomb. If you look at the symbols at the summoner, there is always one missing. The missing symbol is always the tomb where duriel is

If you open the quest log it will straight up just show you the correct rune after you've seen the incorrect ones

You can easily go to Halls of the Dead, even on normal difficulty, and just get a new Horadric Cube.

Good information overall. I would like to point a couple of things out, however. For starters, your mention of Mephisto being the easiest to get to and farm. This is only even partially true for people playing sorceress or others with enigma. Otherwise, the mob types in Durance on Hell are actually extremely punishing (Stygian Dolls), which can make him annoying to get to at best. I also want to mention that farming Duriel is only good when done in conjunction with Summoner. Post quest completion in A2, the only way to determine the true tomb is by deduction of which symbol does NOT appear in blue floating behind Summoner. I would also like to mention for Ubers that it's worth mentioning the necessity to MOVE after creating an Uber portal as they CAN spawn on top of each other and will brick your key set.
If you join a game where the staff has been used but duriel hasnt been killed yet, the game creator will know the symbol. You can set one of your characters like that and create a password game to join with your farmer.

@@Zerker77745 Sure, I get along fine. I just don't see the point in making the game with one character for the sole purpose of knowing what the tomb symbol is when there's a super simple way to determine it that's en route with a different farm target. 🤷♂️
Solo self found trick for mephisto you can reroll the map with non sorc characters and get a wp thats a couple rooms away from the level 3 durance. Takes a bit but once you get it single player maps are seeded and wont change. Also on bnet you can always check it during your other runs. Durance lvl 3 will always be left of the exit of the wp room.
Weapon with charges tele, life tap, etc: use ort + chipped gem in cube to recharge weapon. No need pay 500k gold for repair :))
You can also just pick up the items from any boss you kill and cover the repair costs.
The tele staff I'm rocking on my Necro at the moment costs about 70k to recharge from empty. It's not exactly cheap, but so long as you know what money-items to look out for you can make the cash for it in two or three drops

Great guide man, basic but neat. At one point you mention is impossible for characters to deal with immunities but that was a great opportunity to mention shopping lower resist wands, but you do recommend shopping teleport staffs at the end.
I play offline and have setted it to always randomize the map with each run, very inconvenient but feels like more genuine as in a multiplayer setting.
I didn't know the superchests in lower Kurast were the best option for high runes lol, will do that now :D
easy way to find duriel tomb is at summoner, there's always one of the floating symbols missing, the one that is missing is the one where duriel is
Finding Durance of Hate 3 can be a real pain in the ass seeing that the map can be huge if you don't have teleport. Great video!
yeah i thought it was weird that he labeled Meph runs as the easiest. It's pretty difficult if you don't know how to find lvl3 and/or dont have the gear to survive him. though the payout is good if you can kill him quick
Follow the wall that's left of your character when you spawn on wp. Not left of screen. If the room that you spawn in only let's you exit it from the bottom right of the screen, the left wall will be top right.
I've literally never heard of anyone farming Duriel in 20 years of playing...

I promise you literally nobody farms duriel, it wouldn't be time effective or worth it compared to the other bosses in hell

I remember in the past, when i was playing my SSF smiter, i was grinding Nightmare diablo for a HoZ coz i wasn't really planning on running a exile, and after about 30 chaos sanc runs it dropped, it wasn't even that difficult and it helped a lot when i reached Hell diff

The way to countes meph is 98% of the time follow the wall on ur shieldhand
Mf is great but it goes up in a curve that flatens out the higher you go 100-200 have more noticable impact than 200-400 if you get what i mean
Ut u dont need a smitr it makes it a bit easier killing bosses but a my go to for starting out and get first torches is a summon necro

A note on Pindleskin's garden: in regular Diablo 2, if you get the Halls of Vaught waypoint, the portal to Pindleskin's garden closes. So avoid that waypoint if you want to farm Pindleskin in unmodded original Diablo 2 :) (iirc there are mods like PlugY that fix this).
This was fixed in D2 Resurrected.
You can now get the waypoint and not lose the portal.

Fun tip: farm the summoner in the arcane sanctuary. If you look at the shapes around the book and in the background, the missing shape is where Duriel will be.
That’s what the tome says when you click on it. The one in the same room.
Or you can just open your journal and the missing correct symbol will be shown

Great video, learned who drops those specialty items and how to use them, and smiter is the class to do it, super efficient video on the most important stuff to know for farming the game.

One small tip, you said find what's fun not most efficient, I think where all bosses drop essences and keys, is the rotation sorta.
Just plan to run all essences and all keys and farm them till you get the item, then switch to the next key-essence. Carry on till you get all essences and keys, and your farming while doing it. This breaks the monotony.
If you do the summoner first duriels tomb is revealed right away by looking at the symbols . Whatever symbol isnt there is his tomb.

Farming Pindleskin currently with my Javazon lvl 85 with Titans revenge. Bastard doesn't drop shit. I've increased myself from level 82 to 85 heading to 86 in about 15 more runs just by farming this guy. Diablo 2 never gets old
What's your MF%? I suggest putting 3 Perfect Topaz gems into a death mask, wearing Rhyme shield and making the Wealth runeword armor. There's also a unique gloves that increase gold 500% and also add to MF - I don't remember what they're called though.
@@kng128 chance guards give the highest gold find out of all unique gloves (200%), and 25-40magic find.

I absolutely HATE the maggot lair. it is by far the only place I hate having to go through during my runs and avoid it like the plague after completing it. I hated it on my Hammerdin and it is even worse now having to go through it on my summoner.

If anybody watches this now it's not many monsters being immune immune to something. It's all of them. Common enemies are immune to one form of damage whether it's lightning, fire, ice, physical, or poison. The rarest immunity is pure magic damage like the hammers on a paladin so that's a good character to start with for going completely through the game, or if you're very patient, a summoning necromancer with a focus on your basic skeletons and using one point wonders, all curses and corpse explosion. Uniques are immune to more than one of those options. Getting through the game for the first time it is good to use one of the two characters named. Once you've developed some skills you can switch to the barbarian shown in the video. Find high magic find gear and make good use of the find item skill on bosses you've beaten.
I found a Lo rune from some random mob on my way to the pit. Made a fort and put it on my merc. Now he's hitting over 6k life is good

I would gear up an Assassin with Magic Find gear. Go to a full room doing Cow Runs. I'd go to ActIII to Mid Travanical. With Spirit Shield and Flail, I'd open all the baskets and chests. Mind Blasting the monsters so they would fight each other. Great finds

To clarify, countess drops up to Ist from the 1-3 runes she drops on kill. The ads and her second drop table drops up to Lo.
and 95% of her drops will be Io or less, with the majority of them being the exact same drops you got from nightmare countess lol
The ghosts have higher rune drop rates than other monsters, so you should kill them on sight. The other day I got a Jah rune from a random ghost on the way to the Countess.
if for some reason you want to farm duriel kill the summoner first fora chance at a hate key then look at the symbols around the summoner the one thats missing is duriels tomb
The pit, mausoleum, ancient tunnels and the river of flame got it
Don't forget that drop rates are technically effective at odd number of players difficulty (3,5,7) so players 8 is not required. Of other note baals drop rate is capped at players 3 so you can save some time by having lower health monsters spawn.

Small correction regarding runes and MF. MF has no influence on TC selection and therefor the amount of MF does not influence runedrops. IE the game will perform several rolls and will select a TC that contains either item or runes. Only after selecting the item TC it will roll for magic quality using your MF. So there is no reason to farm runes with no MF gear. You wont get more runes but WILL get less gear in the process.
What are you correcting? The video stated that mf gear doesnt affect runes. That if your farming RUNES, dont bother with mf. You literally agreed with that point that mf is pointless but why mention normal farming? The comment made in the video was directed at players specifically looking for runes, advising that mf doesn't help, with RUNES.

The logic being mostly that more MF gear = lower kill speed, therefor less rune drops in the same amount of time played… that being said I’d also rather get the occasional piece of gear while rune farming then have maximum theoretical kill speed
No you won’t get less gear you will get lower rarity gear. Mf is applied after items are selected. Maybe that’s what you meant, like you’ll get less good gear, but that’s not the way interpreted what you said.

Chaos Sanctuary is one of the best farms in the game... if you can do it then you're kinda golden. It can drop TC 87 and ends in an Act boss. You can get the City of the Damned wp and walk the River of Flame too for TC 87 drops, too.

i miss the good old days of D2 LOD, we 4 friends helping ppl to beat of normal, nightmare and hell. And im the first person that can defeat Baal in hell by using Druid, then my group grow to Druid, Paladin, Assassin and Sorcerer... Sorcerer to teleport to search for objective, Druid Paladin aiming Elite and Bosses, while Assassin lure and clear the mobs

If you get the waypoint for Nihlathak, the red portal for pindleskin will disappear. I prefer the quick Pindleskin on all characters but one made for keys and ubers =p
they fixed that so you can safely take the waypoint now, and the red portal is still there
Maggot lair is gonna be the last on my list, it’s dangerous to characters especially melee ones. And it’s only level 85 when your in the third level.
but also one of the best locations to farm runes as their loot table is so small for other items

If you use the players X command, only odd numbers I crease the amount of loot. So max loot is at players 7, players 8 is only useful if you want the exp.
And this function is completely gone in D2R

I'm new to D2 I played D3 for years and making the switch to this is a big difference and this helps because I'm still on normal but I've been running about 90% of the same gear since the start if act 2 and in on act 5

my runs usually go Izual, City of Damned to Diablo, Dac Ferren, shenk, Eldrich, Shark Tooth, Thresh, WS2, WS1, WS3, Baal,countess, pits, mausoleum, Andy, Ancient Tunnels, Summoner, Duriel, Trav, the 2 temples just south of trav, Meph, then into portal to act 4, then start over
For fast runs, I will do River of Flame to Diablo, Eldrich / shank, baal, countess, andy, summoner, trav, then meph

The only problem with Mephisto is the second floor of the Durance of Hate is fricking gigantic and it can take a while to find the way down.

Id like to see a guide on trading with other players honestly. It feels impossible to know what the value of each item is, and where to find other players in the horrible lobby system, and I feel like Im going to get scammed for everything or offer something way too low. Its very anxiety inducing so I just dont partake. Id play on single player, but I want to try Ubers sometime, even though I probably wont ever make a Smiter Paladin.

Trading in diablo 2 has always been a bit strange.
Someone with gear that they wants to sell will make a game. Usually the price is gems and how many that would be up to the seller.
It's like a market were you can talk about the price.
Also playing online can be lots of fun with friends but most of the time you will join specific runs to make yourself stronger there is little interaction with other players regards social chat.
Usually I just stick to trading gear for runes rather than gear for gear

Maybe it has changed since the vid was recorded, but COuntess for sure is not guaranteed to drop between 1-3 runes every single run, I had cases when she did not drop a single rune
I want a knockoff enigma. An armor that gives teleport and a couple minor boosts instead of the hardcore boosts enigma gives and make it moderately cheaper so jah and ber don't cost a billion runes to trade for. They really need to fix that trading aspect.
Maggot's Lair lv 2 is TC 84, even there nearly all items can drop, found a Tyrael's Might there.

Just a heads up- if you're planning on doing Pindle runs... do NOT complete the nihlathak quest... you'll lose the red portal. Also I love how the voice actor butchers the pronunciation of .... literally everything. Still great vid!
So how do you farm nihlatak for keys? I dont think the portal closes on hell? The quest is for killing him so it wouldnt make any sense

The listed immunities for all the level 85 areas are great. I never know where the best places to go are and I'm realizing why I struggle so much with my lightning/orb sorceress and lightning fury javazon. Hearing how few fire immunes there are makes me want to respec my sorceress to Meteorb

20 years of playing D2 = 1 Ber rune.
1000 run of Lower Kurast super chests 8 players = A lot of Gul,Vex,Ohm and 2 Sur. I crafted a Ber. :-) It is worth!

If I could share my experience in MF runs I'd say clear your way to the monsters as opposed to teleport or run to them. I've found the best runes/items from minions along the way to the Countess or Mephisto etc. Specters and ghosts have much higher chances of dropping high runes and super charms, clear them when you have the chance. Have fun y'all!
p.s. If I remember correctly, setting players to 5 is the sweet spot for return/speed, setting it to 8 would mean it takes way longer unless you got GG.
I have a mid geared sorc online char, right now shes a 70 blizz with tarnhelm, MF ammy, MF rings, golwrap, some ok unique boots, skulders chest piece, OCCY and a Spirit mon, with spirits on the off hand as well, no good charms. Where should i be farming that im not going to get wrecked? I think i need shakos, decent rings, a good ammy, runes to trade for anni, torch and i need some gheeds and skillers as well.
@@samuelyeet6006 I'd say it's a little early to farm efficiently in Hell, but I'd personally do Diablo/Baal runs in Nightmare if solo, and if you're on Bnet I'd join Chaos-Baal runs until you're closer to lvl 85-88. You would have found some more gear by then in those runs as well, not everything gets picked up by the bots. Also when you do go and farm, hit the high level area as mentioned and don't focus too much on how much MF you're packing. You should always aim to increase damage and stats so you can go to more difficult areas and get higher level items as opposed to leaning down in favor of say 100 or 200 MF%. Also in Hell try to avoid areas like The Pit where you'll encounter many cold immune monsters; in the same time it'll take you to clear the pit, you can do Ancient Tunnels and The Mausoleum cuz there are less or zero cold immunes there. Just take note of what immunities spawn in different areas.

So I've followed your Frozen Orb guide and I'm owning left and right. I can't find gloves/belt/boots though. Any suggestions? Thanks again as always!!!
Buy some. Reload a Hell game with the exit from camp to the top left. Run to Charsi and check what she has, run to Gheed and check, run out to the Blood Moor. Rinse and repeat until you find some high mf + res gloves and boots (or faster run walk plus mf) and a faster hit recovery belt with big life or resistances (and 16 pot slots).
They won't beat Chancies/Magefist/Trangs, War Travs and a Goldwrap/Arach/Tals... but they're better than a kick in the bum.
Someone help me, I'm playing offline and I switched it to eight players. Is it going to be more logical to get better loot this way I've noticed Duriel for instance is more difficult to kill but will I be getting better loot?

The /players x command does not work in multiplayer, correct?
correct only on single player, and it will remember your maps. that will reset if you change difficulty
