Do not nerf this. Being able to clear any zone at lvl 99 is HUGE for endgame. I don't want to have to 85 zones and Baal/Nilithak/Diablo. This is an amazing change.
My thoughts: 1. I like the introduction of Terror Zones. I'm not a person that "races to 99", or have ever had a 99 level character, but the thing that excites me is new areas/monsters to farm for TC87 items. This makes it more exciting for me to full clear maps, pop all pop-ables, and not just focus on a few areas and target farming champion/unique monsters. 2. I too would like a bit more graphical change when you enter a Terror Zone. I do like the sound effect & the screen shake, but I would love them to lean more into a stylistic change. Within the feedback forum I suggested to lean into the purple they are using and to add more "Terror" 3D elements. For example, what if within the Terror Zone we now have an overgrowth of dark evil vines on the walls, and cracks shining purple light shining through. I too like other suggestions others have mentioned such as the colors of the monsters to maybe a black or something, always night in Terror Zones. Overall I think the general feedback is to make it feel more "Terror" within the world, not just a few icons and sub headers changes. 3. I would like Terror Zones to be an automatic Player 8 area too, no matter how many players are in the game. This will increase the difficulty, making it more challenging, and more of a "Terror Zone" then just a "Zone you should now farm".
I don't know what kind of team they have working on the D2 and Starcraft remasters, but this is the best best long-term support of a game I have ever seen. All these carefully rolled-out updates and bugfixes, including fixes of long-time twenty year-old bugs no one even expected to be fixed, is insane. D2 has always been my favorite ARPG of all time, but now no one can argue this game's glorious status and heritage. I dont think you know about the Sc2 part, the community begged blizzard for cosmetic monetizations and we got it. It was not monetized to "death". The game is not dead and the monetizations were all entirely cosmetic.

I'm finding the terror zones are not innately endgame. They are also for those trying to get into higher difficulties. I've had characters that had trouble with nightmare and hell. I can now farm in normal and nightmare with terror zones and get better gear to be able to actually do the highest difficulty for my level. My paladin could have greatly benefited from this before I got a lightsaber and a runemaster etin axe that I socketed with 3 eth runes. I also got a bunch of other good stuff that made both those two items less important, though they are still superior to the higher damage weapons I have until I have enough AR to hit well enough (which I now can in act 1 hell, though not act 2 which I JUST got to today). It's gonna be real great being able to push some of my other characters into higher difficulty after I manage to take out baal, but still need gear/levels to do act 1 of the next highest difficulty.

With the amount of bug fixes and the finesse at dealing with multiple end game issues in 1 straightforward solution, the D2R team have really outdone themselves. They have resurrected more than just D2, they have resurrected the Blizzard of old, lets hope their talent rubs off on the rest of Blizzard. Well-done D2R team! 👏👏👏
It's not Blizzard, it's Vicarious Visions within them.
"I would show it on my launcher but my launcher has uh, issues, right now" Sure Llama lol
Just very cool; this is such a great idea. Fresh stuff like this is awesome!
When is this released? (Not ptr)
Wo during if the mobs will spaen terrorized or if the zone will have additional mobs spawned as terrorists
No currency tab?????
so the skills can be set to the left and right mouse. does it mean that we can put paladin aura's of the left too?
His launcher has an issue in which it shows Diablo IV Beta.
I can't wait for this to go Live, D2R needs more end game.
I'd love a D1 tribute like in D3 for D2R, that would be absolute beautiful.
As a series x player those controller related issues are a nice fix. They are All things that kinda bug me when playing. The belt population being the big one as it was so inconsistent. It seemed to break at the worst times and the only way to fix it was waypointing somewhere else or tp back to town and even then it only fixed it like half the time.
When is the season 2 ?
Its not the normal monsters that are 99 - only the uniq monsters. Like Corpsefire in Den of Evil and Cow King in cow level.
I like the idea. Tons and tons of time at end game farming now at least gives us options of other areas in the game instead. Sounds good to me. I kind of wonder if the meta will turn into ignoring areas with low density and just high density areas, but still. Just for fun it offers variety.
No matter what the meta will have way more diversity than in the past
Yes this is really good, arcane sanctuary and tal rasha tombs will be prime spot for hrs
It also allows for more build diversity with different immunes depending on the map, so no more hdin masterrace for chaos runs
Please god bring back cow runs 🐮 this made 1.09 amazing!!! I never felt bored doing them ever
Does this mean now i can equip my frozen orb to left click? As usually only basic skills ...
They forgot to fix “no rune and gem stacking” bug. So disappointing…
yea and the wierd bug that dosent let u make more than 20 character... its wierd that its not really being talked about i guess not many ppl whants to pvp or play hardcore and soft
Baal is already level 99 but terrorized monsters grant additional experience, so extra experience from Baal it sounds like.
Man that really is a great concept, I am excited!
Games crashed 3 times now when "Terror" Starts in the area. Ill give the PTR some time to fix things then explore.
I wonder how this will effect craftings items and Grand Charm rerolling.
That health loss inventory bug was so annoying glad they fixed it. Any console guys having issues with having to remap your skill shortcuts every game ?
Could we get paid loot boxes that allow us to select terror zones and multiply the drop rate
D2 Endgame. This sounds like one of the best things ever.
Any info on when ladder season 2 will be? Can't wait for this change but I skipped season 1 after burning out preseason D2R
Is the TERROR ZONE TM feature is on non ladder as well?
Terror Zones on PTR are "Ladder Only". Hopefully that's subject to change? Non-ladder needs it just as much as ladder.
Great change! Now add currency tab or stacking gems/runes, add many more character slots and we're golden.
It actually sounds like it will make 8 person games a lot better for loot distribution. People will be able to spread out within a zone
Still no fix for the charged skill binding being reset every game for controllers :(
Does that mean the countess can drop any rune now?
I'm surprised I haven't seen a mention of the premade character on the PTR called "HereItIsLlama"?
It will free up the limitation on highest TC drop right?
So does this mean items like tyraels might will drop from these area's since they're 99?
gem, key and rune stacking would be a very nice change
They are so slow. I could code that in few hours, prob even less. Same with balance changes, takes few minutes.
This is actually really cool and a great addition. I love that they go to 99!
I've been playing d2 since it was released in my childhood. I am 33 now still playing on Xbox when wife and kids are sleeping, and are amazed of the new stuff coming. I feel I will never have to buy another game ;)
But monsters being level 99 don't mean they're TC87 necessarily, does it?
