I'm an old guy from the UK. These ladies are my favourite band of all time and the best live band I have ever witnessed (seen them live four times so far). Just think they play at this level for 2+ hours most concerts! (no support bands, just them). With no set list identical. Truly phenomenal.
@@DastardlyHamster That's normal. The concert in your reaction (Hate?) recorded at Yokohama Arena - the final concert of their 10th anniversary tour was 3.5 hours long!

These are some of the best days for rock music! Having played in rock bands since the 60’s, I truly feel there’s no better time to be into rock / hard rock / progressive rock than now! I still give the hundreds of cutting edge bands formed in the 60’s - 90’s, like the Beatles (50’s), to YES, to RUSH, to Foo Fighters, to… well, you know the massive list… I still give these mega bands with being first to blow the pants off the previous trends in music, and coming up with cutting edge innovation, melody, structure and listenability. Yes, the 1930’s through the 1950’s had their own innovative periods, but I’m talking after 50s rock. But with bands like Band-Maid, The Warning, Jinjer, and The Band Geeks (who are revising the YES sound with Jon Anderson to a new level of excellence), just to name three -- plus all the other bands and the ones I’ve yet to hear -- we are crazy lucky to be living in this, the second golden age of rock music! 🤘😉 Thx, Mike & Liam!
Having been around since 2013, they have a large discography. They always sound like themselves, despite toying with various genres. For an acoustic song, try Miku singing with just the drummer and bassist, on Sayonakidori performed during a pandemic Christmas Special. For an instrumental, try Onset. For a more longer drum solo by Akane, watch Feedom. For rapid singing and instruments check out Black Hole or their instrumental Giovanni. For a little April Fools shenanigans, watch them turn a hit song into a traditional Japanese performance of Secret Maiko Lips (drop the maid outfits, and dress up as Geisha apprentices, maiko). Want to see if they are as good as other all women bands? Check out their collaboration with the three Mexican sisters of the band The Warning. As always, I recommend you watch the seven part biography of the band members, put together by Ohrenje. There is so much to experience with this group. That is why Maidiacs are so passionate about getting the word out about this band.
11 years and 130+ songs if pure greatness 🔥❤️ They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent Groove 🔥❤️ Greatest band of our time for me. Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. Band-Maid forever 🤘❤️
Saiki, vocals, wrote the lyrics for this one. The primary lyricist is Miku, rhythm guitar & vocals. The lyrics were written because a close friend of Saiki's husband cheated during covid. So she's making an excellent point in regard to cheating Husband's.
Thanks guys for reacting to my request. "Hate?" really showcases the Maid's rock prowess. I do have a few suggestions for future reactions. Going back to past videos that show their musical versatility, I suggest "Manners/Black Hole", a two-fer official live video of two very different songs. One is a pure-funk groove and the other is an almost chaotically frenetic shred metal banger. Another favorite Band-Maid song of we Maidiacs is "Moratorium", the official live video from a performance at the Tokyo Zepp Theatre. The last one I will suggest, for now, is "Wonderland". It's a beautiful almost jazzy rock song that shows the band's musical versatility and showcases Saiki's, their lead vocalist's vocal range.
Woooow, thank you so much for your second donation!! I also appreciate all your suggestions and I will need to talk to Mika about what Band-Maid songs we are going to do next!! ~Liam
Saiki sometimes has a little growl in her voice (I e. ' Domination"). She has a solid female lead vocalist's voice. She really does not need to use a growl to convey her passion in a song. She can sing a song so emotionally it will break your heart. To see what I mean, you should react to "Puzzle", the official acoustic version.
Six stars out of five is about right for this one. Also near-perfect is the official live for "Freedom" -- if only because the maids are having such a criminal amount of fun on stage. And I cannot recommend highly enough the MV for "Secret Maiko Lips," which they did as an April Fool's joke but in true Band-Maid fashion used April Fool's Day as an excuse to create one of the most visually beautiful music videos I've ever seen. It's a tour-de-force of blended musical genres as well.
Hate? is my favourite B-M song, at least this official live version.Their song "Black Hole" is complex mix of punk and thrash metal and the drummer Akane goes totally bananas in that one. I urge you to check that one out!
Why you make our MAIDs so tiny? At least give them equal space :p . Lol at Liam who got really uncomfortable when the music was paused at the solo. They really are the best rock band out there right now!
All 5 of these ladies are top tier musicians, probably why they have been together for 11+ years with the same lineup and 100+ songs to their credit, theres none of the rock star ego crap about one member carrying the band, also thanks for reminding her about interrupting solo's, music reactions 101 right there
Lyrics by Miku (Red rose/Band founder/Backing vocals/Rhythm guitar) and "Why don't you try to understand me"? Her Subjects include Astro physics "Black Hole" Official Live Video, to Music reactors- "Influencer" Official Music video. The lead vocals- Saiki and Lead guitar- Kanami are always obvious in their songs, but in this band, you will always hear plenty from the bass by Misa and her partner in the rhythm section, Akane on drums. Great reactions and comments from both- Thanks. Seen both so far. (UK)
These are lyrics by the lead vocalist, Saiki. She's more of a "country music" type lyricist where it's more story driven and literal whereas the rhythm guitarist, Miku, who is the main lyricist writes in a poetic style so it's more metaphorical and often has multiple interpretations. The "why don't you try to understand me?" lyric is sung by Miku and is supposed to be the man asking for understanding. lmao! AS IF!
Thank You for your reaction! BAND-MAID is an awesome band! There is no other band that I know of that both gives and receives SO MUCH JOY in there music and its performance! You can't really go wrong with ANY BAND-MAID song (test me, randomly pick one from there channel). BTW, there is a play-on-words here with the English word "HATE." The Japanese word "HATE" (はて, pronounced HAA-TAY) can mean "the end" or "the limit," or "Dear Me!" or question mark!
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. We were in bliss (and happy fatigue thereafter 😄). The title of this song is interesting. It is not just "Hate" but "Hate?", with question mark. The lyric is a little bit contradictory or ambivalent. If the girl hates the guy so intensely, why she hanged around with him so long enough to know his daily behavior (10 minutes of limp gymnastics 🤣 etc.) and she wants him to try to understand her. Is she giving him the last chance to restore their relationship? That is the point I talked with my wife on my way home. Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
The line “Why don’t you try to understand me” was sung by Miku who does back-up “twin” vocals as well as rhythm guitar, not the lead singer Saiki. That’s why it sounds quite different. ❤🕊❤👸🏻
The next you should check out is Domination LIVE (NOT the MV). After well over a decade of cynicism towards new music, especially on the rock side, I found Band-Maid’s music in late 2021 and they made me love music again. That’s a powerful feeling and they’ll forever hold a place in my heart for that gift.
Liam /Mika thanks for doing BAND-MAID , but Hamster come on make the video Larger , when she sang , why don`t you try to understand me , the vice was different cause it was a different singer , Miku Kobato 2nd vocalist n band founder , well Mika seems like you figured out which way the lyrics were going , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin .
Trivia - MIKU Kobato (Stage Name) is the bands Rhythm Guitarist, main Lyricist, 2nd Vocalist and Founder. However, she changed her first name to prevent confusion with the Bassist, MISA. Her proper first name is MIKA, something you appear to have in common.
Band Maid is one of my 3 favourite japanese Hardrock/Heavy Metal Bands. If you like pretty good Metal, singing (and rough singing) listen to Lovebites and Nemophila too. They are all outstanding. And from Band Maid listen to the live Versions of Domination, Onset and Moratorium
Choose me, is always in my top 10 of band maid. There are so many intricacies in this song. Hate is also very good. There are other songs which are in top 5 for me. For example, Blooming and Moratorium.
If you want to dig a little bit in all female bands history. There is 2 bands that still plats after 40+ years. For the hard rock the band SHOW-YA is sort of grandmother s to the female J-metsl wonders that we see the result of today. The pop punk band Shonen Knife is something else. Their topics is about food, cute animals and having fun in life. Songs like Ride the rocket and Like a cat is classics. If you want to go on a proper J-punk route. The fantastic all female band Otoboke Beaver is something to explore, on the male side you got The Erections and the Scandicore bands like Axe Helvete and Slang (Släng). Just a few bands that pops in my head for the moment.
fun fact by the way - the rhythm guitarist and backup singer that started BAND MAID is miku kobato - real name ? mika noguchi ! the one in the real maid outfit.
Band-Maid's genre is hard rock, though you'll often find other flavors in their songs, and the pop punk rhythms are undeniable. You won't find any harsh vocals at the cafe though. Plenty of Japanese bands can scream and growl but if you would like to hear a good blend of clean and scream try Nemophila, a good starting point is their "Dissension" MV. Thanks for the reaction!
Band Maid has tons of bass solos. Their first song from 10 years ago "Thrill" has a bass solo. Check out "Onset" which is an instrumental and has epic bass and guitar solos. Additionally, "Don't you tell me" live has another bass vs. guitar duel!
Came to the comments to say "you have to try Nemophila". Seconded! I'm a huge fan of both bands and just can't get enough. I'd hate to have to choose between them. Thankfully nobody is saying I have to. Yet! Edit: Redacted potential spoiler.
No sweet love songs from Band Maid. Check out Rinne MV and Black Hole Live. Black Hole is on a two song video with Manners and starts at about 4:10. Manners is very different if you want to listen to it as well although I don't think you'll like it much.
First...shout out to @BillHallisey! Thank you sir. To Dastardly Hamster, welcome to the amazing world of Band-Maid. You will find the bass is quite prominent in Band-Maid, as the Maids like to have everyone shine. The "I Hate You!" repeated at the end of the song was inspired by the Simpsons. Saiki, the lead singer, and the one who wrote the song is a huge fan and she commented in a interview Bart used to tell Homer "I hate you" repeatedly from time to time and she thought it would be fun to do it. The lyrics was her way of voicing her displeasure of all cheating which was being reported in the media during the pandemic. One thing we all learned from this song...don't pi$$ off Saiki!😂😂😂 PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
If you feel compelled to interrupt a solo, it would be nice to go back to the beginning and replay yhe whole thing. It's great you liked it. Try NO GOD live.
I adore Band-Maid, but as Mika mentioned, they are not truly metal--more a mix of styles. Sounds like Mika is looking for some hard-core metal. So here you go: Japan has had an active all-female metal scene since at least 1981. Here are just a few of the bands that have made a mark: Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They belong in any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html Aldious (2008 Glamorous and kick-ass rockers-one of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose) ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html Doll$Boxx (2012 Insane mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki and Gacharic Spin) ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html Hagane (2018 Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019) ua-cam.com/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/v-deo.html Hanabie (2019 Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash. Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch in 2023) ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html Lovebites (2016 Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash. Here is their most famous official MV. After this, you have to see their live clips. ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html Mary's Blood (2008 The first major Destrose Spin-out; recently disbanded) Here, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html Nemophila: (2019 Supergroup of ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki, ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam.) ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html Unlucky Morpheus (2008 Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above) ua-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/v-deo.html If you want growls, Hanabie and Nemophila will give you a dose. Other bands to check out for harsh vocals: Saisega and Broken by the Scream, Fate Gear, Galmet, MergingMoon.
Band-Maid Checklist For Hate... brutal cutdown lyrics: ✔ vocal harmonies: ✔ heavy drums: ✔ guitar vs bass duel: ✔ play part of guitar solo with eyes closed: ✔ do a cute spin at the end of the song: ✔ Some song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum. A couple more live videos from this same Yokohama Arena Okyuji are Don't You Tell Me and Endless Story. Don't You Tell Me is a straight up banger with another guitar vs bass duel, and Endless Story is a tear jerker that even choked up the singer, Saiki, and the drummer, Akane, since it was the last song of their 10th year anniversary tour. Also, they just released a collaboration with The Warning called Show Them which is a must listen.
Great reaction guys. Please take this as feedback to help your channel grow. The video is really choppy, has quite a bit of lag in places and sometimes the audio and visual are out of sync. I recommend to people to review their video on a different piece of equipment to the one they recorded on to check for these things. Other than that I really enjoyed your reactions to this incredible band. ❤ Mika, if you like rough vocals but with an all female band from Japan I recommend “Zen” by Nemophila.
If you like Choose Me enough to give 4 stars, you'll probably like or love most of their songs. ❤ Japan has do many talents, but I love Band-Maid the most because they are the only band that satisfy my eclectic music taste. If you usually love harsh vocals, here's a little secret. Saiki sings with more passion and attitude live, which comes with occasional grits. I'm not a big fan of her studio vocal because it sounds watered down, sterile and poppier in most cases. Next song : For some reason "I'll" popped up in my head, so I'll go with it. 😁
If you like Japanese all-female hardrock/pop rock bands, then as metal/punk fans, you should absolutely love Japanese all-female metal bands. There are many, but my favourite is LOVEBITES, arguably one of the three most musically talented metal bands on the planet (along with Dream Theater and Symphony-X). ANY song from them will impress you, but this is one of my favourites ("Hammer of Wrath" live) ua-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/v-deo.html
If you're into the scream and a harder, heavier metal... you may want to check out a Japanese Metal band called "Nemophila". Check out "Rise" or "Revive" MV or Official Live. Their newest is a song called G.O.D, just a few suggestions to get you started.
I wonder if someone explained the story behind the piece? edit: Thanx, outwest1014. One of their early tours was called World Domination. We Maidiacs know it's just a matter of time. edit 2: Their OMVs are good also. ua-cam.com/video/EiknA3mWivA/v-deo.html
"why don't you try to understand me?" is actually sung by Miku, the rhythm guitarist, and as far as as I can work out represents a somewhat feeble response by the guy in the relationship to the complaints of the woman.
The timing was off because your computer is lagging. Akane's timing is never off, ever, even if they make faces at her. They use backing tracks. So if anyone was off, even a little, it would stick out like a sore thumb. Go back and look. The video was freezing up! But yes! Guitar and Bass Call & Response "Battles" are BAND-MAID's forte.
Being voiced by a different vocalist to me implies this is the other side of the relationship in reply to Saiki the lead singers accusations. Not Saiki asking weather her partner understands her.
For future reference, if your pause during the solos was something you felt the need to do to avoid copyright blocking, you don't ever have to do that with Band-Maid. They do copyright claims (as is their right), but they don't do copyright blocks. They are big supporters of music reactors and follow several on UA-cam. They did do some copyright strikes one time, but that was a unique situation when they performed their collaboration with the Warning "Show Them" live before it was released to the public, and the performance was illegally recorded and illegally uploaded to UA-cam without a digital signature, but that's the only time I've heard of them doing any copyright actions beyond just claiming revenues.
We normally don't pause during solos because people don't like when we do that. Mika couldn't contain her excitement in this case though, and wanted to say something, lol. That's good that Band Maid doesn't copyright strike! Though we don't get any ad money for this video, and it does take us a few hours to record and edit the videos, so if people want to give us a super thanks we are always grateful. 😊 ~Liam
Saiki (the singer) wrote these lyrics on behalf of her close friend whose husband cheated on her during covid. She gave her a friend a voice and made her feelings clear :)
Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, speed, prog, rock, metal. If you want a heavier track check out Shambles. Kick you in the head.

"A Bass solo is rare" .... Let me introduce you to a group called Band-Maid. More bass solos than you've heard in your life.
BAND-MAID, where the Bass is a Lead instrument.
BAND-MAID, Gacharic Spin, Doll$Boxx, Nek!, Asterism, Paranoid Void . . .
Every Band-Maid song is a three and a half minute solo by Misa, with her backing band supporting her....
In From Now On, a super-powerful instrumental, Misa plays a wonderful bass solo.
Being instrumental, Kanami on lead guitar carries the main melody instead of a singer. So instead of a lead guitar solo that brings the energy to a climax, Misa’s bass solo is more mellow and sensual, a bit of a rest before the metal energy builds up again for the third verse.
In my opinion it is the best instrumental in Rock history.

Actually not a friend, but a famous personality that Saiki heard about in the news.
Actually not a friend, but a famous personality that Saiki heard about in the news.
Love Band Maid🤘 Not just talent but so fun to watch...
Yes, it is a guitar talking to a bass, but in the background it is all pushed forward by some drums.
Band Maid doing Band Maid things. These girls are the best live band on the planet.
Thanks! Keep it up!
Hate? is my favourite B-M song, at least this official live version.Their song "Black Hole" is complex mix of punk and thrash metal and the drummer Akane goes totally bananas in that one. I urge you to check that one out!
You will get gobs of suggestions for the next reaction. It doesn’t matter what you pick! Band-Maid doesn’t disappoint.
Thanks so much nice reaction!
Their genre is band-maid may be.
How about Puzzle is the next song?
I hope you`ll enjoy it!
(UK)
....and the *Maidiac* attempt to convert *Liam* and *Mika* to: *BAND-MAID*
- BAND-MAID / Choose Me (4/4)
- BAND-MAID / HATE? (5/5)
- BAND-MAID / secret my lips (?/?)
- BAND-MAID
🤗🤗🤗 _Looking Good_
Thank you so much for the donation, that means so much to us!! I will need to talk to Mika about which Band-Maid songs to do next! ~Liam
@@DastardlyHamster What ever BAND-MAID song is selected is fine with me it is all good 😀 _(As long as I'm on the list)_
These are lyrics by the lead vocalist, Saiki. She's more of a "country music" type lyricist where it's more story driven and literal whereas the rhythm guitarist, Miku, who is the main lyricist writes in a poetic style so it's more metaphorical and often has multiple interpretations.
The "why don't you try to understand me?" lyric is sung by Miku and is supposed to be the man asking for understanding. lmao! AS IF!
The metal/rock scene in Japan, especially all-female bands, is just outstanding.
100% true 🤙🏽
Having a face melt while watching a reaction it counts as a reaction too
Best rock band on the planet, bar none.
DISCLAIMER: I am no Japanese expert, or even proficient... just a humble student. So feel free to correct me.
(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
The line “Why don’t you try to understand me” was sung by Miku who does back-up “twin” vocals as well as rhythm guitar, not the lead singer Saiki. That’s why it sounds quite different.
❤🕊❤👸🏻
There is no competition in art. Musically it is a "call & responce" - no 'battle' is implied or intended.
Dude, wait until Mika hears Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Mary's Blood, Aldious, and a whole lot of other all-female bands from Japan.
An endless rabbit hole.
check out "Puzzle" live from Tokyo Garden Theater. This song hits you like the London Blitz.
Don't forget they do acoustic versions and even acoustic concerts. Puzzle and Anemone are great.
Surprised that so much HATE put a smile on my face. That was awesome! Thanks
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃 Badass Bass Assassin 🤙🏽 I always love the "conversations" between MISA and Kanami
These ladies can play anything.
Band Maid is not a Japanese sound at all in comparison to many others. They're really an international sound that just happens to be from Japan.
Bill!!! 🍺💀🤘🏻🕊️
ROOOOOGGGGEEEER and BIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLL 🤪👍🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Wait till you hear lovebites. 🤘🎤🥁🎸🎹🐺
!!!GOODISM¡¡¡ Band-Maid is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Greetings from Argentina
The question mark is present as a classic Band Maid play on words. The word for " Huh?" In Japanese sounds similar to Hate !
fun fact by the way - the rhythm guitarist and backup singer that started BAND MAID is miku kobato - real name ? mika noguchi ! the one in the real maid outfit.
Your channel is going to have the Maidiacs show up.
Please react to one of their newest tracks "Forbidden Tale". It will rock your world!!!!
2 more Maidiacs in the making 😂. Well done! Nice reaction and good observations 👍
Rock and Roll isn't dead. It's just played by little Japanese women now.
You should check out Band-maids heaviest song Black Hole
Thanks! Nemophila, "Dissension" MV.
Thaaaank you for the donation and suggestion!!! We will be happy to react to that song! ❤
Manners is very different if you want to listen to it as well although I don't think you'll like it much.
ty Bill!
One thing we all learned from this song...don't pi$$ off Saiki!😂😂😂 PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
the are a awesome rock band🤘
If you feel compelled to interrupt a solo, it would be nice to go back to the beginning and replay yhe whole thing. It's great you liked it. Try NO GOD live.
I adore Band-Maid, but as Mika mentioned, they are not truly metal--more a mix of styles. Sounds like Mika is looking for some hard-core metal. So here you go: Japan has had an active all-female metal scene since at least 1981. Here are just a few of the bands that have made a mark:
Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They belong in any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html
Aldious (2008 Glamorous and kick-ass rockers-one of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose) ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html
Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html
Doll$Boxx (2012 Insane mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki and Gacharic Spin) ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html
Hagane (2018 Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019)
ua-cam.com/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/v-deo.html
Hanabie (2019 Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash. Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch in 2023) ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html
Lovebites (2016 Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash. Here is their most famous official MV. After this, you have to see their live clips. ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
Mary's Blood (2008 The first major Destrose Spin-out; recently disbanded) Here, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html
Nemophila: (2019 Supergroup of ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki, ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam.) ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html
Unlucky Morpheus (2008 Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above) ua-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/v-deo.html
If you want growls, Hanabie and Nemophila will give you a dose. Other bands to check out for harsh vocals: Saisega and Broken by the Scream, Fate Gear, Galmet, MergingMoon.
Band-Maid Checklist For Hate...
brutal cutdown lyrics: ✔
vocal harmonies: ✔
heavy drums: ✔
guitar vs bass duel: ✔
play part of guitar solo with eyes closed: ✔
do a cute spin at the end of the song: ✔
Some song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum.
Mika, if you like rough vocals but with an all female band from Japan I recommend “Zen” by Nemophila.
CHOOSE ME,DON'T YOU TELL ME ..enjoy
Have you guys checked Band-Maid with The Warning “ Show Them”?
You should really check out Don't You Tell Me LIVE😌
Two songs down... only 140 or so left to go!
Bandmaid is a fantastic rock band!!!!
If you want hard try nemophila...ama-te-ras.
Or hanabie...be the gal.
Good luck.
You want harder Band-Maid check out Rinne
When was the last time Liam and Mika met irl? Just curious :)
You tend to like every song more than the last one you watched. It's sort of a thing.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
You need to react to Hanabie - We Love Sweets!
If you like Choose Me enough to give 4 stars, you'll probably like or love most of their songs. ❤
Japan has do many talents, but I love Band-Maid the most because they are the only band that satisfy my eclectic music taste.
If you usually love harsh vocals, here's a little secret. Saiki sings with more passion and attitude live, which comes with occasional grits. I'm not a big fan of her studio vocal because it sounds watered down, sterile and poppier in most cases.
Next song :
For some reason "I'll" popped up in my head, so I'll go with it.
Band-Maid best Rockbant. IFor Japanese Metal and harsh vocals take a look at Nemophila, "Dissension" or "G.O.D".
Hello… Thank YOU
"why don't you try to understand me?" is actually sung by Miku, the rhythm guitarist, and as far as as I can work out represents a somewhat feeble response by the guy in the relationship to the complaints of the woman.
That is always how I hear it too :)
Exactly PO!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Band -Maid is a good band, not metal.but if you want to hear "fire" metal, listen to Lovebites. You'll be amazed. 🔥 SET THE WORLD ON FIRE 🔥
One interpretation is that the "Why don't you try to understand me?" is actually mocking the whining of the jerk the song is addressed to.
You still don't understand quite yet why Madiacs are so hardcore. Not only is this song good, EVERY song is good. Most of them are great!
If you like some screaming try Nimophila also an all female Japanese band
The timing was off because your computer is lagging. Akane's timing is never off, ever, even if they make faces at her. They use backing tracks. So if anyone was off, even a little, it would stick out like a sore thumb. Go back and look. The video was freezing up! But yes! Guitar and Bass Call & Response "Battles" are BAND-MAID's forte.
🕊️
🤘🤘
Being voiced by a different vocalist to me implies this is the other side of the relationship in reply to Saiki the lead singers accusations. Not Saiki asking weather her partner understands her.
No mention of Akane's drumming?? Boo! 😆
😊 ~Liam
*PUNK* ??
You CAN'T be a real 🅿🆄🅽🅺 if you haven't reacted to these all female 𝘑𝘈𝘗𝘈𝘕𝘌𝘚𝘌 band: *OTOBOKE BEAVER*
