Whatttt…. Hysterectomy sounds even more intimidating now… is it worth it? I have menorrhagia that is making me severely anemic and I bleed heavily for WEEKS … and I cannot have children with the meds I’m on and disabilities… I’m considering hysterectomy but I’m not ready to be permanently sterile…

@@SeeMeRollingI had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago when I was 46 following being diagnosed with endometrial cancer aka cancer of the lining of the uterus. Unless there is a diagnosis of a gynecological cancer or a high risk for it developing most perimenopausal women that have hysterectomies for issues with their uterus the surgery will not usually include ovary removal since the hormones produced by the ovaries are important for many body functions not just reproduction. If you are having abnormal cycles and bleeding excessively that is causing anemia you really need to discuss this with your doctor because blood carries oxygen to every organ of your body, and if you are deficient in red blood cells your organs are being deprived of very necessary oxygen to function efficiently.

Esty here also (17+ yrs) 👋 My favorite pimple patches are the Hero brand. Specifically the microdart ones if you have a really bad one. For spot treatments I swear by the Living Libations Zipppity Dew Dab. You dab a drop on at the first sign of a breakout. I even used it at the first sign of a cyst and it was completely flat within 2 days. It works incredibly well without drying the skin. I tested it against 2 other brands of spot treatments, Laurel Skin Beauty and Province Apothecary. All 3 are great brands but the Living Libations blew me away. And yes even us estheticians get the occasional breakout🙃

I really appreciate this video because this has been bothering me a lot these psy few months and I've been wondering wtf to even do about it, thank you so much!!
On a side note, and this is nitpicking, I know the "men or people with XY chromosomes" @ 1:30 was intended to be trans inclusive, but the way it was said can be misinterpreted as a definition if that makes sense? Like "women (or people with XX chromosomes)" you know what I mean? I think a better way to say what I think you were trying to is "people who menstrate" vs "people without a menstrual cycle"

I know this is a wild longshot, but maybe one day you could do a video on acne from antidepressants? I feel like so many people take them now a days and acne only contributes more to some of the symptoms so when you finally get on them (at least for me) my whole skin chemistry changed and I have the worst acne ever and can't get rid of it.

I don’t get the hype about salicylic acid. I’ve spent so much money on all those products influencers recommend 😢 not one helped me with my acne. Salicylic acid makes my pimples bigger, crazy red, angry and they don’t go away, just grow to a certain point and get wooden. The Ordinary one I ended up using on my feet - very good for your feet. The only thing that helps me is Inkey Mandelic acid treatment (which comes in a very small tube, but I still use it for the whole face) and retinol A from drugstore.

Sounds like your hormones are off balance. Test that and it could be fixable, but do not use hormonal birth control as the method. Too much with bad results.

@@LotusesGalaxyOcean how do I go about getting that tested? Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it!
I’ve been off birth control for a few years now, at first because I found the week I was on my period and not taking it my skin got better, but after a few years I realized the trend of it getting less severe during my period has stayed the same birth control or no birth control.
Is there a specific test I can request from my doctor?

In basic terms you would ask for a blood serum level full hormone panel test. That uses your blood to test the levels of all your different hormones.
If you want to be thorough you will want to do a bit more. I recommend a nutrition panel as well as few more things too. Many women are missing critical nutrients. Magnesium, vitamin d and k2 are very commonly too low. Magnesium being low tends to be the culprit for painful periods. K2 is missing from our diets now because we don’t eat fermented foods like sauerkraut or organ meats which are really the main ways to get it. Much of it has to do with animals being on grain feed because k2 is created usually by animals eating leafy greens. Also, k2 really important for bone and heart health.
More of the specific details to test are here below.
Get the test taken during the first few days of your cycle (when you have your period), if possible.
Ask your OBGYN for a hormone panel test that includes estrogen, progesterone, FSH and LH (follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone).
Ask additionally for a thyroid test, blood sugar test (using a glucose meter at home preferably) and Vitamin D3 test. These are also important indicators for hormonal health.
Ask that they also run a general blood test (the kind you’d get at an annual exam) - you want to be checked for iron saturation, anemia, and C-reactive proteins particularly.
Ask for a print out of your results to take home if they are not made available online for you to access.
I wish you and anyone else who wants to screenshot this and do this the best of luck.

Doesn‘t fit the video but: Hello Cassandra, I‘ve been watching your videos for about 10 yrs and always been a fan of your passion and the way you talk really makes it feel like you‘re an acne-big-sister to me ♡
I have a question: partly because of your recommendation I started using The Ordinary products but for some I‘m just never sure when to use them and how to combine them. You taught me how to use the Peeling Solution and I don‘t combine it with Salicylic Acid. On days that I don‘t peel I currently have the choice between the Salicylic Acid and the Niacinamide + Zinc. For dark spots I additionally have the Alpha Arbutin and the new Aloe + NAG one, all from the brand.
Do you have any tip on when (morning, evening) and/or how often I should use each of the treatments? Right now I just kinda eyeball it and go with one or more per routine but I was wondering whether there was something that actually makes better sense.
If you ever read this comment and reply I‘d be super grateful ♡ Anyway, keep up the amazing work ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Wait hold on a second, who's actually squirting summer's eve UP their hooha? Cause I use the honey pot foaming wash on my labia/vulva and have never once said "let me ketchup bottle level aggressively squirt this up in there." I know douching is/was marketed and taught to women in the past... but that's not gel body wash texture? Maybe I'm just sheltered, lol. My mom had had a hysterectomy for like 6-7 years by the time I started menstruating so she was like "I don't really remember anything about it, here's a dusty old pad from the back of that one closet we never use."
