    I just bought this kit. I plan on leaving it green. I just got back in the hobby after 20 years or so. I have a few easier ones to practice on first. Thanks for reminding me about canopy glue. I got some cement on a window on an AMT 63 Stingray.

    Nice video! Currently building the convertible...haven't got to mounting the bonnet yet, so thanks to your video, I'll have some fair warning on trouble spots. The engine is incredibly detailed and I'm impressed by the comprehensive stickers....I added plug wires as well.

    James, I just saw this 4 month old video right now, and you did an absolutely beautiful job on this Jag. Upon completion, you make it look like it was a very easy build! Lol! I enjoy viewing your build ups, they're top notch! Great job on tackling the kits issues. Yes, you're right, your model is a new tooling, its not the "old" Revell jaguar kit that my dad helped me build in 1970

    Very nice. I'm literally just finishing this kit. I did it in pale yellow with black interior. I redid the chrome bumpers, headlight surround and windscreen frame. Came out ok but it's a bit too dark.
    That bonnet, or hood as you Americans call it, does go onto the hinge at the front of the subframe, just needs some gentle persuasion. I kinda wish I'd left the chrome as it was. I've got the coupe to do next but I've got to do the same to the chrome on that or they'll look odd next to each other. Coupe is going to be a similar colour to this; Silver Blue.

    James, the tip about using the metalizer sealer is a really good one. I am inept using bare metal foil even on long, flat surfaces, so, I want to try this. On your video, it looks like the sealer tones down the kit chrome just enough to make it look more like chrome and not "toyish" the way most plastic chrome does. Over the many years- more than 50- I have built models, one thing comes to mind: I could live life 10 times over and never come close to learning all there is to know about this great avocation of ours ( somehow, I don't like the word 'hobby'). It's far more than just a pastime! Keep those videos coming! In every one of your uploads, I pick up something which makes building more enjoyable. Cheers, Cork

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much Cork. Yes the metalizer sealer does tone down chrome parts. I like to use it when the part should be a polished aluminum rather than stripping and painting. I won’t use it on bumpers and what not as I like the bling factor in my builds.

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  3 роки тому +1

      The JACCS Accord is dead. When I masked for the black trim it lifted the decals off. I’m so disappointed because I love that livery. I have it put aside to strip and redo with PIAA decals instead. OR if the aftermarket reissues the JACCS decals.😁

    • @KarlScaleModeling
      @KarlScaleModeling 3 роки тому

      @@ScaleModelExperiment Oh I see, too bad that damage happened to the Accord. I tried searching for new decals for mine and found all out of stock. SK decals told me he'll be releasing some new Jaccs ones soon. I also love that livery, in fact I have the Civic hatch, sedan and Accord kits, all Jaccs. Now waiting for the Civic EF from Nunu to have them all 4, driven by Hattori! I realized I missed the last seconds of your video, now I know what you're building next.. its nice seeing some JDM content from you ☺️

    James, Hope you are doing well! You have probably mentiond the brand, but what canopy glue do you use for a lot of your assembly? Overruns can be wiped off easily and leave no marks unlike solvent type glues which have destroyed many a good build. Stay well! Cork
