    Great job so far! I'm really impressed by this kit, and the wheels turned out way way better than I was expecting.

      Thanks, Gustavo. I agree the wheels turned out well. Aftermarket wire wheels are expensive so I'm glad I didn't need any.

      @@BOABModels yeah agreed, so surprised how much of a difference the panel line accent made to those wheels! amazing

      Thank you. I agree and panel line accent was the only thing I added to them.

    Thank you very much for the injury warning! Some may think this is something very minor, and for some it's very triggering.

    5.54, those clips you're referring to are to lock the bonnet down, one on each side.

    Hi Thomas I think the interior colour is spot on, black would have totally lost the interior when the body was mounted and those wire whelels came out very well, but then I knew they would because I've seen another build of this kit and he did the same thing and they looked great. Best wishes Vic.

    • @BOABModels

      Thank you - I only like to do a black interior if it is based on a real car which had that. I'm not sure my colour choices are 100% accurate but I'm happy with it.

    What do you think of the kit wheels?

  • @JHartModelworks
    @JHartModelworks 3 роки тому +1

    Nice work. I almost never do a black interior, even when the kit asks for it. Even if I know the car only came with a black interior I still do something else. If you do black you will never see anything inside the car.

      I bought some after market wheels and then decided the kit wheels were too masterfully molded to pass them up...best I have ever seen in any kit. I ended up using them on a Fujimi, I believe it was, Ferrari GTO. Cheers Robert! Cork

    • @BOABModels

      Yeah, I think these ones can look very good with the right treatment.

  • @georgeclements2742

    As you describe the channel as 'Build on a Budget', I think that you are right to stick with the wheels supplied, though I feel that after-market items would probably look even better for people with deeper pockets. I like the interior colour very much, but I'm not convinced by the black on the dashboard: it looks too glossy on the video, but perhaps appears better in life. As a matter of interest, do you watch the UA-cam videos of A4 Garage ? The poster of that channel has a very different approach, but his work is simply mind-blowing. This is not to be in any way critical of your excellent building - as I said, it's a different approach and could be intimidating for mere mortals like me, but I just marvel at the results he achieves.
    Thanks and best wishes.

    • @BOABModels

      Thanks, George. I have seen some very good 3D printed wheels but I wanted to show that the kit ones actually can look pretty good if you paint then right. As for the dash, I looked at several real cars at motor museums and I felt the colours were ok - ua-cam.com/video/7K3FFulaSIc/v-deo.html you can see some here.
      I was actually one of A4 Garage's first subscribers and I think his stuff is amazing. I'd not be able to build like that though - I don't have the patience, equipment or skill! 😅

      @@BOABModels Thanks for the response. I think that your skill level is extremely high: A4 Garage is great, but doing a different job. Just for clarity, I was not questioning the colour of the dash, just saying that in the videos it looked a little too glossy. I was referring to the dash top, and in the walkaround pictures it shows that, except for the racing example, the dash top was a moulding or had a vinyl type finish. Also as I acknowledged, the dash on your beautiful model may look a bit different 'in the flesh'. Regards.

    Shame on Revell, some incorrect details: hydraulic reservoirs should be on rhs bulkhead for RHD car; handbrake lever should be on left side of console for all models; exhaust manifold down pipes should point vertically down, not angled back.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 роки тому +1

      These things do happen. I wonder if they will be corrected in later instructions? If I'd known about the hand brake I could have fixed that! Oh well!

    • @Allrand319
      @Allrand319 3 роки тому +1

      No problem, having recently completed a real E-type rebuild certain details just stand out. I'm sure you can adapt the reservoirs to fit on the rhs bulkhead. Many pictures available on the internet.

      @@Allrand319 oh wow! That must have been interesting. I have now finished building this kit (two more videos coming soon.) But I may build the convertible version some day too.

      Are there any true original RHD model kits out there? The only one I've seen close to original is Revells Routemaster.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  2 роки тому +1

      Most Japanese kits come in RHD by default
