    I used to work here.I've recalled my memories when I see towels,plates and knives hanging on the left side of the wall of the counter seats,even the master has been changed,he still served caviar and brown rice which is as khnown as the signature dish of Umi.Nice and thank you for uploading this video.

    i don't know how this place has a 2 star Michelin. Food is just okay for me. Not the best fish I've had. Some of the fish were flavorless. Also the price we had for 2 person without any drinks is over $600 USD so they may had increased the price from 1 year ago. It was the worst experience I had at an omakase venue. Chef was sick and did not wear a mask. He was coughing in the food while preparing to make the uni. Also scratched his armpit and proceed to make the sushi. Also, my husband and I had diarrhea twice after having his food. One the night of and immediately the morning after. I have never had any diarrhea from any high end omakase venue except for this place.

    I would have a typically Czech question: is this an "all-you-can-eat" experience? I mean, this looks to be on the level where you no longer receive a menu and are expected to be happy with your choice, but instead they will serve you and fulfill your wishes until you are satisfied. Is that the case, or are the some limitations? Knowing my own people, they would come in and wouldn't leave until really stuffed, so I'm curious how would such an appetite be looked upon in this kind of restaurants.

    • @Aggyindustry
      @Aggyindustry Рік тому +2

      Omakase in Japanese means leaving everything up to chef. The chef will make a course that changes everyday, depending on what’s good in the market.
      For those restaurant that offer lunch, it’s lighter mostly just with sushi. For dinner, many people have a bottle of wine or sake, and the menu has several small appetizers called tsumami on the top of what you’ll have on lunch sushi.
      Because dinner is often more expensive, it might have better cuts of same fish for sushi, but otherwise, the main difference is tsumami. It’s not all you can eat, rather they will create a set course, but you can ask for additional piece as you wish at extra cost.
      Hope this helps!
